How to unlock the Win 20 Cup Competitions achievement in Football Manager 2007 - Definitive Guide

To clarify, this must be done in ONE saved game, not multiple games.

So, aim to get this whilst going for the "3 Consecutive Top League Titles" achievement, making sure you win every cup available. The minimum timespan for this achievement is 4 seasons. All cup competitions, major and minor, domestic and european, COUNT. Winning the league, however, DOESN'T.

Start a new game and manage either Chelsea or Liverpool in the English Premier League. Reason for this is because both play in the Community Shield (a competition between the league winners and FA Cup winners), giving you a chance to win your first cup early. Also, both teams are already qualifed to play in the Champions League in your starting season.

Whilst winning the League does not count towards the achievement, do so anyway to ensure you qualify for the Champions League for next season. Winning the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup give you 3 more cups. So by the end of the first season, you should have 4 Cups.

Next season, you have a chance to win SIX cup competitions: Community Shield, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Euro Super Cup and the Club World Championship. Win all these, and the league, to end the second season with 2 league titles and 10 cups.

For season 3, just rinse and repeat what you done for season 2. Winning the league for a 3rd straight should give you its respective achievement and by the end of the season, you should have 16 cups.

Season 4, all you need is 4 more for the achievement. The league is no longer a priority so just concentrate on winning the cup competitions. If you continue following the trend by winning all the cups in order, winning the League Cup in the 2009/2010 season should unlock the achievement.

*EDIT* You can also get the "Get Into Hall of Fame" achievement while doing this also, but bear in mind that MAJOR trophies only count towards your overall points tally (see Drabik's solution for the achievement for how the points are offered for each trophy).

Adding to the fun, international trophies count as well. So at the end of your second season, you can try and get an international job and win the European Championship, and do the same at the end of season 3 and win the Confederations Cup. By doing this, you will get the achievement much earlier in season 4.

this achievement is not really what it says. when you go to your manager information and it says how many cups and leagues you've won, this stat doesnt relate to te achievement. i had won 36 cups and 10 leagues and stil no g's.

so you ave to go to hall of fame and find where you are, then go to your acomplishments in game, and you will see the leagues and cups which add toward your hall of fame score. now only the national cup and european (major, minor) cups will count toward your 20 for this achievement.

god it took me a long time to find that out for myself

Just started this game with an Australian league save, I already feared it was like this. Time to switch to the EPL in order to get the longevity achievements I guess.

Weird, it popped for me after six seasons in the EPL even though I solely aimed for the Hall of Fame worthy cups (title, FA Cup and Champions League). Guess the little untracked cups do count towards the 20 after all.

Win 20 cup competitions, while attempting 10 seasons with one club, try to win every trophy you can, eventually you will unlock this one. Needs to be done on a single save.
