How to unlock the Win 20 Cup Competitions achievement in Football Manager 2008 - Definitive Guide

although the other guide is explained well, there is an easier (and quicker) way of getting 20 cup wins.

I started off with Man Utd, any other big team with big budget will work well too, and built up a very strong team and won virtually everything within a few seasons.

Cups available:

Community Shield
FA Cup
League Cup
Champions League
Super Cup (need to win Champions League for this to be available)

with these 5 cups available every season, as long as you keep winning the Champions League, this is obtainable in 4/5 seasons. You can keep track of how many Cup wins you have by going to Manager overview, left trigger - manager - manager overview, then going to history tab.

once I had a team I was comfortable with, I went on holiday 1 season at a time to see how my team fared. After each season use your budget to bolster up in key areas and go on holiday, make sure to check the ticks to keep the team/tactics the same and you should be fine. I have used this method for most achievements but yet to reach 10 seasons and beyond.

Hey mate, great guide. I wonder if you could tell me how to "go on holiday" and how to delete a manager. Really struggling to navigate this one

There are multiple options available to you, as there are many different cup competitions. With this achievement, you can win the same cup competition multiple times, over many years.

I got this achievement whilst going for the 10 Seasons At One Club in Football Manager 2008, starting at a club in the sixth tier of English Football (Eastleigh from Blue Square South).

A variety of cups are available for you throughout the 10 years depending on which leagues you are in:
- English FA Cup (Any league)
- English Setanta Shield (Blue Square Premier/North/South)
- English FA Trophy (Blue Square Premier/North/South)
- League Cup (League 2 and above)
- Johnstone's Paint Trophy (League 1 and League 2 only)
- European Champions Cup (Qualify by being Cup Holder, or through final league position
- Euro Cup (Qualify by winning Domestic Cup, or through final league position
- European Super Cup (Qualify by winning either of the above two cups) *
- Club World Champ. (Qualify by winning the top continental competition)

* = May not count.

Notes:
- To ensure you win domestic cups, it is possible to add a new manager before each game as your opponent. Then pick the reserves or the youth team to play against yourself. This is also possible in Continental cups if you have added multiple countries to your game save.
- Alternatively, you can simply save before each game and reload your save until you have a desired result. Going on holiday for 1 day speeds this process up.

Cant figure out how to put the youth team in. Reloading after losing takes awhile for some teams. If you could provide some info on how to put the youth team in that would be great. This game has super confusing menu's.

It's been over two years since I played this game (and submitted the solution), so I really cannot remember. I also no longer have the game, so can't check for you either. Sorry :(
