This is only a partial solution to highlight the bug, as requested by the Game Info staff.
The EURO Cup (Europa League / UEFA Cup) does not count for this, neither does the European Super Cup. In the Hall of Fame, it is listed as a minor trophy so I presume the EURO Vase (Intertoto Cup) also does not trigger this.
Likely that it only pops for European Champions League, Asian Champions League etc.
This is why it is listed as buggy-.
