How to unlock the World Player Of The Year achievement in Football Manager 2008 - Definitive Guide

The World Player Of The Year is an award that is voted for by National Managers.
For the achievement to unlock, the player must be a part of your CLUB. You will not win this if you are the manager of Argentina and Messi wins the award (for example). The World Player Of The Year is awarded in January.
You have a number of options:
1. Legit
Manage any team (preferably a major club), win most of your games, and hope that your player is voted for.
2. Less Legit
Manage multiple teams, increasing your chance of having a player in your squads that is voted for.
3. Far From Legit
Before December 1st (when the votes can begin), add as many new managers as possible. Assign these new managers to every possible National Team. Use these managers to vote for your player. Each National Team manager gets 3 votes, 5 points, 3 points, and finally 1 point. If you ensure that each manager votes for the same player, he is almost certain to win. Once you have made your vote with your new manager, go on holiday indefinitely.
Notes:
- The National Team manager cannot vote for a player from his country. e.g. The Manager of Spain cannot vote for Torres.
- There is a shortlist of players. Managers can only vote for players on that shortlist (obviously).
