you will need more than 5020 score to overtake alex ferguson at 1st
best way to earn score is win trophies, there are multiple ways to go about this but i recommend choosing one of the top 5 european leagues (spain, england, france, germany, italy) as they have give you access to the most competitions to compete in, plus you will get more score from winning the hardest leagues. thats not to say these leagues are hard, they just give you the most score.
a single season will give you a chance of winning six trophies
super cup
league title
domestic cup
league cup
champions cup
club world championship
to qualify for super cup & club world championship you will need to win the champions cup in the previous season.
you can also go down the route of managing both a club and a nation so you can win international trophies to add to your score, keep in mind this may take you a bit longer, taking into consideration how well you can manage 2 sets of squads.
if you manage to win every possible trophy, you can have this done in 5 seasons or less if you choose to manage a nation as well as a club.

You have to remember that Pep Guardiola is not far behind Ferguson when you start and he will continue to earn points pushing the target higher and will continue to do so unless you win the competitions.he is also in.
If you have the in game editor you can just send him to your under 23's and stop him from winning major trophies haha.
