How to unlock the We Trust You achievement in Football Manager 2021 - Definitive Guide

This achievement was a real pain to get because it relies heavily on RNG. The achievement requires you to have high enough board confidence such that when you ask for an affiliate club (Club Vision -> Make Board Request -> Networking -> Affiliate Club), the board lets you pick the affiliate club (not just give you a list to pick from).
After much research online and help from people who previously unlocked this, I believe this is the best method to get it:
This is best done with your 20 season run for Club Legend and Immortality; first play a year or two while winning the vast majority of the matches so that the board trusts you. The length you must play depends on the club you picked; if you pick a underdog team at risk of relegation, you'll have to play less than if you picked a dominating team, say PSG. You can check board confidence under Club Vision -> Head Coach Performance. There isn't really a hard metric for determining when the board is confident enough, so you can try to ask for an affiliate as soon as you feel that you have won enough (ideally around an A rating).
Check your email every day until you receive the board's decision; if the board rejects you, it's likely that you have not won their confidence, so just keep playing and try again in around 4 months. More likely than not, the board will give you around 3-5 choices of affiliates to pick from; pick the affiliate that is from the country of the club that you're managing.
Now keep winning for 4 months and ask for another affiliate; whenever the board gives you options, pick the one from your country. After you have around 5-8 affiliates from your country, the board will reject your request despite you still having high board confidence. From their rejection email, you can discuss with your board (save before discussing); in the discussion, select the option that says something about increasing international influence. If done correctly (and if the RNG gods favour you), the board will relent and let you pick an international affiliate, unlocking the achievement.
If you paid for the in-game editor, you can just add domestic affiliates from the edit club details page, saving you some time.
