How to unlock the Childhood Dream achievement in Football Manager 2021 Xbox Edition - Definitive Guide

> start a new career unemployed
> select england - league two and above
> in manager profile - set your favourite team to tranmere and select your past playing experience as international global level

at the start of the game you will land on a screen with available jobs on the left centre, right click on tranmere > team > apply for job

now continue game until you have a message back in your inbox. as soon as you hear back which should be no longer than a couple of days, achievement should pop

i have tested several times and tranmere always have no manager

For me it was sheff wed. They always offered me a job and tranmere gave the job to same person every save

Worked a treat thanks. The trick is to “walk away” if you get offered the Sheff Wed job. Then you’ll get the Tranmere one your looking for.

Since update 21.4.0 the best team to set as your Fav is Leyton Orient tried it 3 times and was always an advailable job, apart from that Edgify solution works perfectly

Got it with Leyton Orient as well. I was actually trying to get the job for international team but during that one season that I was fast forwarding, Leyton Orient sacked manager four times. So I applied for it and got the achievement out of the way.

Not going to downvote as appreciate the general context of the guide, but Tranmere didn't work for me at all. Had to do Leyton Orient trick. Maybe the Tranmere route has been updated or my game just went bizarre one off. November 2021.

Start a career on your favorite team and choose to retire.

Create a new manager and apply to the team of your initial choice, which will now be without a manager.

Don't forget to put your avatar with an international level. This should facilitate the application acceptance process.
