How to unlock the The Greatest achievement in Football Manager 2021 Xbox Edition - Definitive Guide
To become the greatest manager of all-time, you have to win - a lot. At the outset of the game, the Hall of Fame is comprised of some of the greatest names in world football, and you are tasked with beating them all:
This list - which differs from the regional/national Hall of Fames - can be found by navigating to the 'FM' drop down menu, and selecting 'Hall of Fame.' It includes a number of managers who are still active as of the 2020-2021 season, such as Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, Zinadine Zidane, and others. As such, your Hall of Fame is subject to change based on the successes of the active managers in your game.
But, most likely your goal will be to knock the estimable Sir Alex Ferguson off his perch by earning more than 5194 points. Points are earned based off of trophy wins (league and cup, club and international), which are prorated based on the ranking of the competition - so don't think fourteen successive Papa John's Trophies will get you anywhere near the top. An abridged point breakdown can be found here:
Accordingly, you will want to win major league, cup, and international honours in a major footballing nation (England, Spain, Italy, France, etc.). This accomplishment will take some time, but will be earned through natural play as you work on other achievements.
Obviously, the better your team and the more capable your squad, the easier this achievement will be. However, you do not need to remain with a single club or country -- your achievements follow you across your entire career.
You can check your progress at any time by navigating to the Hall of Fame landing page. You will get News items when you place on the Hall of Fame for the first time, and when you have become the greatest ever.
For example, I earned this achievement by working up the table, acquiring minimal points in the lower English leagues with Stockport County, before moving to Southampton in the Premier League, where I eventually built a title-winning team capable of regularly challenging in Europe, as well as in the FA Cup and the League Cup. This was complimented by my additional role as England Manager, where I regularly competed for the World Cup, Euros, and the International League.

Great guide, thanks. Just one question - would this need to be done on a single save or would multiple saves with the same manager accumulate the points together?
