Unlocked by selling a player for more than the amount you spent to buy him.
Easiest way is to sign free agents. When a player hasn't signed a new contract with their club and they have less than 6 months left of it, other clubs can freely offer them contracts in that period, and later they will join your club for free when their current contract ends.
If the board is important to you then you will lose "Team Loyalty" if you sell them right away, so either wait, or save, sell and reload.
If you put them on the transfer list and add that you will accept any price, then the board will not stop the lowest offers.
The achievement pops right before can click the final "Confirm" to do the trade, so in theory you can get the achievement and still stop the trade, but again; both the board and the player will not be happy about this.

Whenever I try this no club are interested in players I've signed when their contracts expired, even when offering to clubs for £10 get no interest, any other tips for this one?

It took a 1-2 seasons but I got them out.
One thing that helped is that I also were national manager, so I used them in the national team when possible.
But it's not a sure thing of course. We don't control the other clubs.
A safer bet may be to buy wonderkids, and sell them when you have trained them to international stardom, but that will take several seasons.
I bought Haaland in my first season. Now, no clubs can even afford what he's worth (6th season). So that is the backside of it :)
