How to unlock the You Can Buy Happiness achievement in Football Manager 2023 - Definitive Guide

After struggling with this achievement for some time, I managed to unlock this in a very easy and reliable way with the in-game editor.
Create a new career game using database 23.4.0 update and select Barcelona as your team. Once loaded, search for Lionel Messi, click on him and use the editor (pen button in top right) and select "Move to my club". Set the fee as £0, and make sure you set the date to the next day. It cannot be the same day. Now progress forward to the next day (you may have to go through some compulsary set-up stuff). You will get the notification "Messi signing confirmed", it will have an A+ fan reaction and unlock the achievement.

For the life of me, I cannot get this achievement!

This guide did not work for me either. I assume you have tried to follow it as well. I tried numerous things but in the end I cheesed it using the in-game editor. Basically I made an offer on someone, had it accepted, offered the contract and had that accepted. Once that was done I then edited the player to boost all his stats and reputation. Since the deal had already been made, once the confirmation landed on my inbox the achievement popped. Cheap I admit, but nothing else was working.
