I simmed a season with City and got this in the first season, didn't do anything other than sell 1 player and buy 2 (Alphonso Davies & Bellingham).

You need to create a positive attitude. This is done by using shouts from the touchline that are positive or create a positive situation on pitch. I find the most useful two shouts are focus and praise after a goal.
Team talks must match the performance too. If they're playing crap in the first half. Don't be afraid to tell them. It tends to have a positive result on most players. If a player is green. Try satisfied as this player will become confused.
