When I went for this achievement I was max level and before I attempted it I made sure to have many droids (I had 17) max health and kept increasing max damage when I could. I also had demon sword, gloves and boots.
How I did this was kept making or purchasing slime sigils, after killing it you get 4 spirit orbs. I would then use 4 boons from the skull chest and hope they would either be droids or max damage. Then I would use the spirit orbs to get myself back to max health and rinse and repeat until you feel strong enough. I was taking out slime king with a few hits of the demon sword.
I then made sure I had plenty of cooked meat just in case and plenty of potions, the essential ones you need are Bloodfury cocktail, Dragon Philtre, Thunderstrike and Mandragora, I would recommend at least 5 of each.
After that enter your void portal and begin the slaughter.
I personally saved my potions until the end of round 4 as the first few are quite easy.
Remember as well you only have to make it to round 30 for the achievement, not actually complete it!!
It is also worth noting that the sword was the only weapon I used in the Void I didn’t use rods once.
This probably isn’t the quickest or best method but it worked for me.

Another easy way to complete this is to abuse the upgraded Meteor Rod after you've completed the wizard's fetch quests (which rewards unlimited rod energy). The upgraded Meteor Rod fires waves of three fireballs at a time, and with unlimited rod energy you can just run around each void map holding attack the entire time and spamming fireballs all over the place.
As Warlord Ethan mentioned above, I would recommend farming some Spirit Orbs and upgrading your attack stat to make it easier. Attack stat seems to affect not only sword/bow damage, but rod as well, making it incredibly valuable for killing boss mobs quickly. You can also create a Training Dummy at a Carpentry Station to see where your damage output is at. For reference, I was hitting a training dummy for ~38 damage when I did the achievement, but more than that would certainly make the run faster/easier.

Agreed - OP's solution can work just fine, but I found MoppyH's upgraded staff method to be much faster and more fun; theres just so much spray damage covering a large area, mopping everything up. I was doing ~68 damage on the dummy, and it was pretty fun watching the carnage in the later levels :D
The achievement pops as you enter the void at the end of level 29, as you enter 30. I finished level 30 to get the chest at the end, and had around 1:30 remaining.
