How to unlock the Go veg achievement in forma.8 - Definitive Guide

This will likely be the sixth achievement you will earn, and the first one that involves any sort of challenge. You will quickly learn that your bombs, either placed or "thrown", have no effect on this giant plant. What you have to do is get one of the red bee-like critters that spawn from a pod in the alcove on the right to chase you. Lead it close to the plants "mouth", and it will get chomped. Apparently, the big bad plant has a severe reaction to these bees. It will start shooting fire balls at you in retaliation. However, after eating three of the bees, it goes limp and you can move past its slumped corpse. Talk about an anticlimax. (pun intended)

Dodge the fireballs the plant spits and lure over some of the flying bugs from the spawning nest when it opens its mouth with the luring light.

Doing this a few times (3?) will sate the plant, and counts as victory. You'll be able to fly past it and pick up the key below

Story related, can't be missed.

This is the first boss you will face. There is an enemy spawner to the right of this boss. Wait until the fire plant shows a white light, and lead a flying enemy over to this. After the fire plant has swallowed three of these, your achievement will unlock.

To defeat a flower, it is enough to lure a red fly from the flower to it 3 times. Video to help.
