Surprisingly Impossible

Surprisingly Impossible

Complete single player mission 'Fishy' on Total Mayhem without losing a life

How to unlock the Surprisingly Impossible achievement in Forsaken Remastered - Definitive Guide

It is actually surprisingly possible with this exploit:

1. Play level Fishy on easy (You can die, collect both secrets etc. no worries)
2. Create save when you are closing end of the level (After you have destroyed reactors and door unlocks. For some reason I couldn't load saves where timer was on)
3. Quit to main menu or finish level. It doesn't matter.
4. From main menu start new game and go to mission select like you normally chose missions BUT select difficulty "Total Mayhem"
5. Start some random level like Volcano.
6. Load the save which you made.
7. Finish level Fishy without dying (Enemies hit you a lot. Spam transpulse, use pine mines, clear final rooms with Titan. Rush to the exit)
8. Achievement should unlock

The technical reason why it pops is that loading a level resets level cache like heat meter, some scripts (you get messages to destroy reactors even they are already down and level completion time resets...) So you can basically run the level with easy and load back in with Total Mayhem and the game forgots your previous deaths etc. Enjoy.

Perfect solution. I want to add that I was very much able to load the save created during the countdown phase. It was a few meters away from the exit with no more enemies alive so all i had to do was fly into the exit with no risk involved. For those people that were as confused about the shoddy translation of the difficulty level. "Total Mayhem" in this game translated to "Sehr Schwer" in German which is ANYTHING but correct. I am assuming its the same lousy translation in other languages so if you are unsure just pick the furthest one down (there is a total of 4).

Well after playing and finishing this level "fishy" a few times with the difficulty total mayhem and no achievement popping, it definitely seemed "surprisingly impossible". So changed the mac address in the xbox settings, nothing. Thought screw it, try one last thing and if that dosent work I'm done with this. So started a new single player game, total mayhem, then loaded a save that i made at the end of the level previously. And pop, got the cheevo. So the game must reset the difficulty of your saved game to normal instead of leaving it in the total mayhem difficulty. Hope this helps for anyone who was stuck like I was!

Yeah...that one is a bit glitchy...just like the teleporters in this game.

Practice in easy mode a couple of time.
Use transpulse as much as possible.
Save often (saving and reloading restart the heat meter !).
You can die, as long as you reload a previous save state.

Find 2 more crystals to unlock "Power core station"

4 more (20 total) to unlock "Tube 64"

7 more (23 total) to unlock "Ancient temple"

find the 24th in "Ancient temple" to unlock "Fishy"

Find the 25th in "Fishy" then beat the level "Ancient temple" once more to unlock "The pit", the very last level containing the very last crystal.

I hope this helps

Hi, need input. Played through this level on total mayhem a few times now. Play, save, die, reload play some more. You know that kind of thing as Storm Lord ast suggests. But I'm thinking it's with a single play through with no dying what so ever for the achievement to pop? Am I right? cause I never get enough time to play through a whole level without saving, quitting the game and coming back to it later. So if anybody that's finished this game is kind enough to comment that would be greatly appreciated!

I mean you could do it that way and torture yourself OR you could simply cheese it like the other guide suggests and be done with it in litereally 30 seconds.
