How to unlock the Cat Person achievement in Forspoken - Definitive Guide
Throughout the world of Athia you’ll come across a whole variety of cat monuments - yes, even more monuments! These cat monuments are actually called “Tanta’s Familiar Monuments,” and while they don’t offer any massive gameplay benefits, they do give you Archive entries - which is handy if you’re still plugging away at the Archivist trophy.
But that’s not it! Every familiar you discover, will actually mill around at the many of the Refuges dotted throughout the world. And they’re cute. That’s it though.
When you interact with these Tanta’s Familiar Monuments, you’ll have to sneak up on the cat to complete said monument. The creep button in the game is exclusively used for these monuments. Simply walk towards the cat until it prompts you to hold to sneak, then sneak up on the cat - you can approach it head on. When you see an exclamation mark, stop. Do not move. Once it goes away, continue sneaking, and when you get to the cat, press to finish the monument.
There are 20 in all to get, and they will show up on the map once you’ve visited the local Belfry. The 20 Tanta’s Familiar Monuments and where to find them are below.

Tantas' familiars are cat companions that will hang out in your safe houses and accompany you in the field to help you gather mana and resources if you wish. Similar to the flashbacks, you will find monuments to track these marked by the icon. There are 20 total. Once the cat spawns after visiting the monument, get close and then hold to crouch and move closer. The cat will usually notice you at least once and an exclamation mark (!) will pop up over its head, make sure you stop moving when that happens. After that disappears you can then move in again. Once you are close enough, an prompt will show up to pet the cat and you will befriend it. Repeat this process at every monument, a full list of which can be found HERE.
