How to unlock the Evil Things with Crazy Teeth achievement in Fortnite - Definitive Guide
One of the main Plankerton quests around level 23 will ask you to talk to the paranoid survivor and kill the monster. Shortly after that, around level 28 quests, you will begin the toxic treasures challenge that tasks you with killing mimics (monsters hiding in blue level 3 chests), culminating in stage ten. Complete them all for the achievement and lots of V bucks!

As with most tasks, you don't even have to be anywhere the mimics to get progression in this challenge!

Is finding the survivor a main quest as I'm nearly half way through plankerton and I've not got this quest active yet?

Hello people for the Evil Things with Crazy Teeth achievement on page 10 of the Stonewood Quests there is a mission called "treacherous Treasure" you have to find the Survivor who is afraid of the evil thing with crazy teeth (soon to be known as a mimic) in a 15+ zone and kill the mimic in a successful mission.
Doing the above will unlock the side quest (s) toxic treasures, this requires you to find & kill mimics in the world.
How to spot a mimic? they look like lvl 3 chests (small blue ones) they will "jump/bounce around" growl and will take a little longer to open.
Once you have "searched" them they will transform and attack you so put a few rounds into its face and on its death you will get loot (various items) ,chests/mimics can be found in caves, mine shafts, Attics, behind beds, tombs, behind some walls/ support beams with many other places.
from my experience mimics wont make the chest noise telling you when you are near them,
The Outlander's "keen eyes" ability sadly wont help you here either but the good news if you are in a game when a mimic is found and killed by another player you get progress regardless of if you did damage to it or not.
Stage 1 - 3 mimics - 30 v bucks
Stage 2 - 3 mimics - 30 v bucks
Stage 9 - 6 mimics - 30 v bucks
Stage 10 - 6 mimics - 30 v bucks
30 v bucks x 10 stages = 300 v bucks which can buy you some loot Llamas
Don't let the mimics win and good luck everyone.
( i cant remember all stages/kills needed/v bucks but i can edit when needed )

I have finished treacherous treasure in stone wood and now half way through plankerton missions but still no sign of the toxic treasures quest so this can't be right??

Same here mga. I'm a good way through Plankerton and a dozen mimics in and no quest.

We get a side quest for mimics (often this is a blue chest, when opened it begins to squeal and move slightly). We kill them and complete the quest...and so 10 times - the trophy is yours.

03/16/20 At the moment, this trophy is causing enormous difficulties, since in the latest patch the chance of a mimic appearing on the map has been greatly reduced.

If you are playing as a traveler, the chest mimic will not be highlighted.
