How to unlock the Friends with Benefits achievement in Forza Horizon 2 - Definitive Guide

You can get this in at or around 100 to 110 races. Easiest way that I found to complete this is after each race, go against your rival. Sprint races are better than circuit races with laps as they provide more credits with the loading times etc. So, find one that gives you around 10k (most I managed was 12k) credits after challenging a rival (bonus credits included from difficulty) and just keep repeating the race over and over with the cn_X button at the rival screen. You will get close to the same amount of credits win or lose, so just keep at a good one you find.

You can also do this through the actual rivals menu if you know the track as well as class you want to play.

A good method is also to do 1 after every race so there is not much grinding involved later on, but that is up to you.

Yep, these say 250, 500, etc for a win but they gave me a lot more. Maybe it is glitched for the x1 version?

Once you reach higher levels, your payouts will be higher (especially if you finish the race with a good time). At level 70+, I see rivals that offer 5,000 Cr, that award me 16,000 Cr with difficulty for one race. If you go slow enough, you can race the next rival for another 16,000 and so on.

There is also an in game perk that ups the percent of credits you receive from rivals events.

After races I see 250-1000 usually, but if I pause and go to rivals, it shows some that are 3000-5000. You also end up winning more then it says anyway. I did a 2000 one and got over 8000.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have just done a rivals race which said the prize for winning was 250cr. I actually got 6,327cr for winning. 5,502 was just for winning so no idea how they work it out but if the race says 250, ignore it. You'll get more

Circuit races are good too as it seems the more laps you do the more rewards you get. Try short circuits

Oh I didn't even think you would get more credits the more laps you did. If I get time, will try to give that a go and update the solution if it is better.

Found the same method as DrSchmock, it seems to be the most efficient way to farm credits.

I also posted about it here: https://www.mygamerprofile.net/achievement/85860/ - Just giving my 2 cents.

My method would be is not to win the 1st/2nd lap but do 20 laps or more and i get 74,642 CR for doing 20 laps (took me 18 mins). I dunno if this the fastest way to get CR? - Just don't win, just go round enough laps and then when you had enough, just finish the lap just a millisec faster than your rival to earn that extra CR for beating your rival. So it appears that the more lap you do, the more CR you get :)
Don't have video capture but I have it on my video if anyone want a proof.
(Sorry my english not good but hope this helps)

The number of credits offered depends on where your rival is on the leader-board. I was posting in the top 100 yesterday and was being offered 10,000 on the rivals screen which actually converted for 26,000 credits, somehow!?! If you hold back a little you can work your way up the top 100 getting 26k three or four times before it becomes mentally difficult to beat the Rival.

Currently on 700k so getting there now!

This will only get harder with time as people post mental times on the leader-boards, so get to it people!

Like every other event, reducing your assists will boost your payout here too. When you can start posting top 1-2% times for 5K rewards it really adds up.

So do you only get more Cr for doing more laps if you win? I did 4 laps but didn't win any laps then clicked finished rivals and I was only given what I was originally offered for it which was 10K.

Rivals is down for me, and I remember when Forza Horizon was free on Gold that Rivals was down completely. I expect the servers for it have come down ahead of it's end of life wind down. I hope this isn't the case and that they'll be up again at some point for all of us, but they didn't come on for the previous game :(

If someone can confirm with some authority one way or the other on this point it'd be appreciated, since I'm speculating..

@DAN5KI97: First of all, it's "would have or would've", not "would of"... How does anyone think that makes any sense...

More importantly, back then they had more server power supporting this game. After 4 years of dwindling user numbers they scaled back and used their servers for newer iterations of this series. How can you fault them for this?

The servers will work fine again when most people stop playing this game.

Thank you for the English lesson roll

But fair enough, I didn't know that and I wasn't really faulting them but still, don't see many other games having that problem.

Hopefully but it seems they've removed the feature completely, not like it works one day and not the next, it's simply broken right now.

Rivals crashed for FH1 when it went GwG as well. It took them about a month to fix, but it did get fixed eventually. Give them some time. It will come back.

EDIT: More precisely, FH1 servers were broken from 02.Sep.2016 to 18.Oct.2016. It took them 46 days to 'fix' the problem. And by 'fix' I mean they probably just waited until the GwG players stopped assaulting their servers and were once again able to handle the player load.

Hi everybody !

Griffey95's solution is pretty good but I just want to show you that.

Thirst thing, join a clan with a lot of members (Trueachievements is a good one, because there are members with all kind of skill playing)

Choose the car you're good with.

Start a circuit race, each lap slow down the much you can when the finnish line is near you (set a good time too, because if you don't, your next rival will get you 250Cr). Complete the race.

Now press cn_X to play against your rival (don't forget to raise difficulty for more Cr) and beat it! (starting with 1.000Cr is enought it will rise up after 3/4 races).
You win about 6.000/7.000Cr by beating a rival with 1.000Cr, beating a 5.000Cr rival will give about 16.000Cr. 16.000Cr/1min20 with loading times = 240.000Cr per 15 minutes with loading times.

The only thing you have to do is to slow down as much as you can to beat your rival with the fewest time difference (less than 0.00.100s is the more profitable).
I started my rivals time with 1min11s and in the last race I did in the video I was only 1min07s with about 15 rivals beaten.

If you break too much and crossed the line after your rival, simply press cn_Y and replay the part you failed.

(You can find shortest race with 55s a lap). wink

Once the challenge is too difficult for you, search a new race, and repeat. (I got 890.000Cr with 3 races).

I made a video for convenience.

Hope it could help some of you smile , if you thumb down please explain why.

Sorry for my english, I am not bilingual. wave

Whilst this is a good method, your claims of 240,000 credits in 15 minutes, getting the achievement in about 1 hour using this method are exaggerated.

In your video you show getting 10,904 credits against a 4,000 credits rival in 1m07s. If you have to press the rewind button (for which you take a -15% credit penalty) then in reality the lap time is actually more than 1m07s. So assuming you can even beat 15 different 4,000 credit rivals from a standing start on the first lap, that would be 1m07s x 15 = 17 minutes for 163,560 credits. You need to add the number of times you press Y and the time between races to the 17 minutes, so let's say 5 minutes of extra time. That averages 112,800 credits in 15 minutes, which is less than half of 240,000 credits.

Okay so one thing that had me worrying about this achievement was if you had to earn the reward credits to count as you progress towards the achievement. Well thankfully this is not the case. All you really need to do is play alot of rivals events and get the credits at the end the amount can vary but they ALL count.

So how to get this achievement and what to remember.
1. Play Rivals events either from completing normal races or using the rivals menu when you press start.
2. Do not worry about prioritizing the rewards I've earned 10k from 250 rewards events and it still counted towards the achievement and pushed me up 1% each time.
3. Losing doesn't stop you from earning credits thankfully.
4. Try to have fun, you can repeat events over and over but that could get dull real fast.

I have a video below proving that the reward credits don't mean much. I deliberately went for a low 250CR reward and still earned 10k pushing me up another 1% towards the achievement.

I unlocked this achievement, using HolyHalfDead's solution and I think it is the best and easiest approach, BUT:

1. I think Promenade Circuit in Nice Massena is the shortest track.
2. I believe Lamborghini Veneno is a better choice.

Here's a video of the first and the final lap of my 1 hour grind:

As you can see, I managed to complete 103 laps in 60 minutes, which means each lap took me only 35 seconds. I also chose Automatic Shifting, so I could completely shot my brain off and listen to the music while completing laps. I also tried Simulated Damage, and I think it doesn't worth it. After a couple of laps, your car becomes very damaged and slow. Here is my difficulty settings:

https://screenshotscontent-t2001.xboxlive.com/000900000e91e6...

You can try different S2 class cars, different tracks and different difficulty settings to find a combination that really suits you.

You can grind this out by doing laps over and over on a circuit track. Select festival routes in the rivals menu. You don't even need to win, but if you do, press cn_X to continue scoring laps. You can keep driving around as long as you want, and when you are done select "finish rivals" to end the event.

I recommend Nice Massena, City Rapide Circuit, using an A or S1 class car. After doing 30 laps which took about 25 minutes, I would get around 88,000 CR. Which would be 211,000 CR/Hour. Your results may vary depending upon difficulty.

This solution is meant for those trying to pop "online" achievements like this one in 2022 and beyond. The servers are extremely temperamental nowadays which affect the progression of the following achievements:

Forza Horizon 2Friends with BenefitsThe Friends with Benefits achievement in Forza Horizon 2 worth 57 pointsEarn a total of 1,000,000 Cr from Rivals.

Forza Horizon 2Bragging RightsThe Bragging Rights achievement in Forza Horizon 2 worth 17 pointsBeat Friends or Club members on any 20 Speed Cameras.

Forza Horizon 2Super Meet BoyThe Super Meet Boy achievement in Forza Horizon 2 worth 40 pointsGrab a livery, grab a tuning setup, buy a car, and enter a Showdown at any Car Meet.

Please read this guide in its entirety before attempting to pop any of these achievements. This solution and the others posted for the above achievements took a lot of time to research & document.

To pop ANY of these achievements, we must be connected to the Forza Horizon 2 servers. We will refer to this as THE GOLDEN RULE.

THE GOLDEN RULE:
First, make sure you're in a Car Club with a large amount of members. Pick any club from "Recommended Clubs". This makes it so you will have more people to beat on the leaderboards instead of just people on your friends list.

(Press cn_start, go to the "Club" tab, select "Join New Club", then "Recommended Clubs".)

*We will begin by referring to the guide posted by MassoodT.

Press cn_start, go to the "Rivals" tab, select "Festival Routes" -> "Nice Massena" -> "Promenade Circuit". This is one of, if not the shortest track in the game. You should average around 38 seconds per lap depending on what car you use + skill.

Be prepared for a grind, you will probably end up having to do over 100+ Laps just to pop this achievement. Try your best to have a "Rival" that will net you a bigger bonus for beating their time. I would recommend trying for at least 2,000 cR. I used S2, S1 and A class cars to eventually pop this.

If after you post a time in Rivals mode and it says:
"SERVER ERROR. There was an error communicating with the server. Your time and ghost for this session will not be saved."
don't worry. All of your credits earned still count toward the achievement. Confirmed this myself multiple times.

24 Apr 2022 01:09

Each time you set a time in an event you will be asked if you want to compete against a rival to see if you can beat their time. Each time you do beat the target time you will receive a sum of credits and be asked if you want to try for a faster time. There is also a tab in the menu for rivals where the game will constantly add possible rivals for you to beat. This is often an easier approach as you can select your car and some cars are better suited for certain events such as using an AWD car for an off-road event. Depending on your skill you should be able to earn an average of 8,000 to 10,000 credits per rivals event, significantly more if you are better at the game. It's also worth mentioning that even if you don't beat your rival's time across the line, you will still net yourself a decent amount of credits so don't quit out if it doesn't look like you'll win. Overall this shouldn't prove to be a difficult achievement but may take some grinding.

0
0
First of all, buy a talent that gives +10% credits in “rivals”.
Then in the menu Rivals --> Festival tracks --> NICE MASSENA --> PROMENADE CIRCUIT
Before the start of the race, set the difficulty to the highest (+85%) and complete one lap. At the end of the lap, select “rivals at the finish line” in the menu and complete the race. Without even beating the time, they gave me about 3300 C. Well, then you restart the race by pressing when offered by an opponent.
The race is short. One time will take no more than 1.5 minutes, taking into account downloads. So 7-8 hours and your achievement is yours.

I make it much easier. Once you've completed the entire game and collected the lion's share of trophies, you'll be left with championships. We choose any one, go to the race and at the end we agree to ride with our opponent, trying to improve the race time several times. They give me from 8 to 14K per race, I did not increase the difficulty to maximum. In 3 hours of play I got 60 percent of the trophy.
