How to unlock the Stone Cold Skiller achievement in Forza Horizon 2 - Definitive Guide

This achievement can come through natural progression, but can also very easily be boosted using a fast car with good grip.

What you will want to do is select a decently fast car with the best grip possible. Now you'll want to drive back and forth on the highway that links Montellino & Sisteron. You can view the video below for more exact details. While driving back and forth, you'll want to maintain a high rate of speed and get as many near miss skills as possible. Try to avoid drifting, trading paint, air, or wreckage as these are risky during a skill chain on the highway.

As you begin this method, you'll want to bank your skill chain decently early, but as you unlock more perks and gain confidence feel free to bank at a higher and higher skill chain.

In total, you will need to earn 65 skill points while equals 6,500,000 skills chain points! After unlocking your final point, the achievement will unlock.

There is a faster way in my opinion. I used the VW type 2 (the bus) and bought the best tuning, i guess it was the tuning called Hippie jelly. Than i just drifted down the airport. Drifting right and left all the time and do a U-turn at the and and repeat. My best chain was something over 2.000.000 in about 30min and its not very hard to do. Sorry for my bad (or not) english :)

Mine glitched as well at 98 % (if I remember correctly), and while there is a solution (I think, but it has to do with tampering Internet connection and starting a new career with a "new profile" and earning the missing skill points and then restoring your actual save data from the cloud), I didn't want to use it. So, after three weeks of doing nothing, the achievement seems to have popped for me on its own. I haven't played FH2, I have done nothing, and this morning it was there.

this isn't a solution to get the achievement in the normal sense, I just thought I would post it here to help those that like me got 65 skill perks and was left on 96-98% complete with the achievement tracker with no way to get any more skill points. I have heard this is quite a common problem if you play the game when xbox live isn't 100% working at the time.

1. Delete your forza save file from console only (this will be backed up in the cloud)

2. I then disabled internet in settings so my game save wouldn't re sync with the cloud.

3. Started new game offline and went through the intro (one race and one road trip, when you start the next race you should be able to start gaining skill points) and then drove to the airport after it has told you skill points are enabled. Then i reconnected the xbox to internet so i could get achievements.(note your game wont re sync to your save on the cloud as you are in the game and not on the title screen)

4.I earnt around 2 skill points which took my 96% to 100% and achievement popped .closed game and deleted console save . i found for each 2% you are missing from the 100% you will need to earn another skill point, i.e. i was 4% off so needed to get two points.

5.Reloaded the game then asked to sync to the cloud and got my progress back with this achievement now popped.

Hope this helps
P.s -it took a little while to re sync just be patient.

credit to Varboss from the forza forums, stopped me having to start the game from scratch again

p.p.s this method also work if you are missing any barn finds, although you will have to play on into the game until it shows barn find on your map.

Still works. I only needed 2 more skill points but forget to connect to the internet when I got to the airport and had already grinded out 3 that didn’t count because I wasn’t online.

This achievement appears to be glitched. I got 65 skill points yesterday but the percentage shows 68%. All of the last skill points I got were on Storm Island, so I wonder if Storm Island skill points don't get added to the total. Glitched nonetheless, since I can see in my stats that I have 65 skill points.

Warning - Resynching your cloud save game can take far longer than expected. FH2 cloud saves can be over 100MB whilst other games typically have 5-8MB cloud save files. Your download may take several hours to download showing 99% or 100% for most of that time.

Man, thanks a ton for this fix. I was at 75% after obtaining all skill points. It took me about 2 hours to get to 100% with your method, but I'm super glad that there is a workaround. The nice thing is your method will also likely work with other games that have this achievement tracker/internet problem, so that makes me doubly glad to know it.

I also followed this method as I needed to go from 83% - just thought I'd say that it worked perfectly.

What I have noticed is that, when I first got to 65 points, my Achievement percentage showed 98%. It seems that the longer you play the more the percentage drops.

So if you are going to try this method I would recommend you doing it as soon after the achievement should have popped as possible as the longer you leave it the longer it will take to make up (speaking as someone that slid around that bloody aircraft strip for the best part of an hour!).

You don't really need to start an offline game, just delete the local save and cancel the syncing when starting up the game.

For those wondering, this did not work for the bonus boards, if the game decides to bend you over with the boards, you’ll have to collect all 150 once again to unlock it. That’s what happened to me and another gamer

***ULTIMATE EASY SOLUTION***

Step One: Acquire a very easy-to-drift car. (I was using the Jeep Willys MB with a ridiculous engine)

Step Two: Go to the airport in the North-West of the map.

Step Three: Drift like crazy along the main runway.

Step Four: Profit.

(The long explanation is below)

The fastest, easiest and SAFEST way to earn this is to head over to the AIRPORT'S MAIN RUNWAY in the North-West of the map with a car that can drift extremely easily.

I personally have been using the Willys MB Jeep that a good friend of mine suggested trying out. It can be acquired as one of the barn finds.

I swapped out the engine for 6.2 litre V8 which means it's basically a donut machine.

All you need to do is drive up and down the main runway in the airport, drifting all the way back and forth. Throw in some wreckage and side-swipes for extra points to really drive the score up.

It's also great if it happens to be raining as it makes the drifting easier, but it's not necessary.

You can also gain XP by driving through the speed camera and from your high skill chains. Every little helps!

I've uploaded a game DVR clip showing my method which can be seen here:

This doesn't give you XP (or at least not much) towards leveling. The points at the top go towards skill points to unlock perks. Its not XP. XP is what pops up on the middle left in white.

I basicly did the same but used wreckage and sideswiping the runway lights a lot. Sideswipe is 1000sp at a time. There is also a dip (where the tunnel underneat the runway is) where you can get air and destroy bushes (wreckage/sideswipe) and the speedcam also nets you some extra points.
Quickly get to the 6.0x multiplier in the skill tree to make things go even faster

Did you do anything to the Jeep other than the engine swap? It just seemed like your points were going faster than mine were.
0
0
By capicawl on 09 Oct 2014 15:42
It's an engine swap and then an auto upgrade to the best possible parts. My points will also go up faster than you if you haven't already purchased some of the perks that increase speed of skill chains, etc.

Also if people vote negative, please comment saying why so I can improve my solution. Thanks.

It's a good solution and it was working to a degree on a dry runway. I'm sure results will be better on a slick track like on the video. I have most of the xp perks unlocked except for the 6x multiplier. You just made it seems effortless to get 300k. lol

By capicawl on 10 Oct 2014 02:36
I don't understand why you got 2 downvotes on your solution.

This is by far the SAFEST and SIMPLEST of methods. It works fine on dry road but with high enough speed and works almost automatically when it's raining. Got about 10 points like this and the achievement unlocked for me. Thank you.

By Dr Purrple on 03 Mar 2015 20:14
To help the sliding, buy the Storm Island wheels with less grip. Also when you do a sharp turn but you're not drifting you can tap the A button and it will usually do an "E-drift."

+1 - thank you this worked. I used the Bugatti with no car updates and did constant drifts on the airstrip. The achievement is glitched as it didn't pop and when I looked at my achievements, it was still at 90%. But when I went to the Forza Horizon 2 Game Hub, and clicked on Achievements there, it showed as unlocked with most recent date.

You can get this achievement over time in your single player campaign, it is lenghty though. I took me 26 hours of playtime to get this achievement without boosting.

Nevertheless, there is an easy way to boost this, if you want that achievement or the skill points right away.

First off, you'll need a pretty steady car with good handling which's maximum speed shouldn't exceed 7 points, preferably a medium sports car. Some upgradable modern muscle cars are extremely good for this job, because they have perfect handling, don't go over 260 km/h and don't lift off the ground.

Then you'll head onto the only motorway/autobahn there is and keep driving it from start to finish (and again and again). Here is a map and the motorway is the green line.

External image

Drive at a high speed, but not too fast and try to get as many bonuses for nearly touching other vehicles. This way you'll earn skill points very fast because there is always enough traffic to get the combo going. If you get to 20'000 points with a good multiplier I recommend stopping the car (slowly breaking) in order to lock the points. You don't want to crash if your score is up too high.

Also: Don't use the rewind option! This way you'll lose all score points you could have earned.

Check out my video to see me doing exactly this.

The method that I used to get the last 15 skill points was to keep repeating the Ariel Atom Bucket list challenge. You have to earn 100,000 points in 3 mins. I was managing to get around 150k to 200k each time which netted me 1 or 2 skill points. As a bonus I was also levelling up quite fast too.

The best way that I think in getting this achievement is buying or getting into a
fast car and that has a lot of horsepower. It can be drift car but it doesn't matter too much. After you have got into your fast car you want to drive to the airfield (top of the map) and start drifting down the runway. When you get to the end just drift all the way back. I 'd say this is one of the best or even the best method to getting all 65 skill points.

Hope this helped you to unlock this achievement. smile

ALTERNATE METHOD
I tried those above links, but it didn't work out well for me. As my reflexes aren't that great, and I always ended up screwing up the multiplier.

So I went youtube and found an easier method IMO.

The car I used was the Bugatti. Took about 3 hours though from where I was at. So if you have trouble with the above methods, this is a simplier alternative.

There's a lot less cars and all you're doing is drifting back and forth. When you get th chance to upgrade in perks, I suggest getting the ones that increase drift value, adding one more second, increased skill chain, and a 6th multiplier. Link below :)

HERE'S A GUIDE FOR GLITCHY ACHIVEMENTS.

I have a feeling many of these 'collectable' achievements are buggy as to their nature and the cloud syncing issues.

I recently fixed the Stone cold Killer achievement by:

1. deleting local game
2. play game at airport drifting to score
3. complete achievement (mine popped very quickly)

4. this is the important one. shut down game. shut down xbox.
5. test network connection in settings (just to be safe)
6. load forza and click the cloud save.

7. Now, on my 50mb, this took along time, enough for me to think it was stuck, However IT IS NOT.
- the save is 35mb+ and apparently that is a big download....

8. go to dashboard and go to manage game on forza

- this will tell you the current file size of your game
(mine at the time was 15mb)
- i then went back and went manage game again
now it was 16.7mb

9. now go back to the game and it should now display a percentage (mine was 54%)

10 now wait while it fully downloads everything
(this is a risky time so be patient)
clouds are not meant to be safe storage.

Even better than the airport or risky near-misses, just find a remote flat area with a field of crops and few trees (these are everywhere in the game world). You can drift around in the field scoring big drift points *and* destruction / sideswipe bonuses, which are worth 1000 points each. You can get even better bonuses if there is a small hill or ridge nearby so you can occasionally ramp off it and get air bonuses. The terrain respawns pretty quickly, but you can just drift down the road a bit if you start running low. For cars, I get great results from wildly over-engined class D cars. They slide all over the place at the slightest bit of throttle (it might help if you turn traction control off - I usually race with the assists off for the reward boosts).

With no traffic or trees around, you really don't need to worry about crashing and losing your multiplier and can clock in hundreds of thousands of points in a few minutes.

12 Aug 2018 04:12

As you perform skills and stunts such as drifting, getting air, near misses and hitting high speeds you will bank points towards unlocking skill points. Each time you string moves together you increase your multiplier which rewards in more points overall. However, hitting obstacles like embankments, trees and other drivers head on will cancel the combo. Skill points are used to buy perks and there are several perks which will aid in your ability to earn skill points such as increasing your total multiplier and the time you have to string moves together. You should easily hit 65 skill points as you progress through the championship events particularly the off-road events as these offer more chances for stunts such as air and wreckage etc.

If by chance you still haven’t unlocked this achievement by the time you have completed everything else, you can earn easy points by grabbing a fast car and driving along the main highway. As long as you maintain a high speed and drive close to cars you overtake you can string together large combos and earn several skill points with each run.

Get it by playing, but if someone is “on fire” here is a video of the boost.

If you are one of the lucky ones (like me) whose achievement percentage is stuck at 98, then do these steps.
1. Finish all the trophies you need to avoid resetting your progress.
2. Unplug your favorite set-top box.
3. Delete the game save from the console (Menu game management - save)
4. Start a new game and earn 4 skill points.
5. Close the game and restore the Internet.
6. start the game and get the trophy.
I successfully tested the procedure on myself)
