How to unlock the 5 Star Seller - A+++++ achievement in Forza Horizon 3 - Definitive Guide
You can still do this by selling cheap cars. The ones I sold were snapped up quickly, mainly because of their paintjob.
Buy a GMC van for 25,000
In the paintjob section, search, entering the word "creeper" (without the quotes) in the description field. I chose the design with a single face created by Khanaar (Thanks Tendoman77 for reminding me that I had forgotten to update this)
I set my auctions to:
Starting bid : 3000
Buyout: 28,000
Time: 3 hours
Each van sold within about 20 minutes for the buyout price so I actually made a small profit.
Guess people love Minecraft
As the other solution states, your achievement pops after collecting your credits for the fifth sale

Is the name by any chance Khanaar? The author is one of the only two creeper liveries shown with a single face when I used that keyword.

I think that's the one, yes. I'll be on later and I'll double check. I imagine both designs will sell to minecraft fans but I know the one I used sold in minutes each time

UPDATE: Cheap cars are no longer selling according to various commenters. It's now far quicker and easier to boost. Find someone here or on your friends list to buy five cars from you through the auction and vice-versa.
Go to a festival spot, open the 'auction' tab next to 'garage', go to 'start auction'.
You may need to give up some Horizon Edition sales or something eye-catching unless you boost, see above
Wait for 5 sales. It will notify you in the 'Auction House' at a Festival point and on collecting your coin at on the fifth, it should pop.

Cheap cars aren't selling anymore - Kexol, ResinousHash and Bardinfrog, you are all completely right.
I changed the solution to suggest boosting über alles. Thanks for the suggestions guys 😊

Need 3 more to get this. If you want to boost with me send me a message on XBL (WakelessBeef), and I'll help you get the full 5 too

With this method you can kill two birds with one stone, and possibly get a third achievement early.
Go to any festival site and search the auction house for the 1972 Reliant Supervan III. Most seem to sell for 5,000 to 20,000 credits. Buy as many as you need for as little as possible. Or, only buy one to make sure this works for you. If this is your first purchase you'll get the Auction Fever achievement.
Now that you have the cars, list them at the lowest prices available.
Starting bid : 4,000
Buyout: 19,000
Time: 1 Hour
Since these appear in the rare car search as well as the basic search, and there's no way to buy them from the store, they sell pretty regularly. You may not make a profit this way, but it keeps the cost fairly low. Just be aware there are a lot of them being sold so bids come at the final minutes.
If you haven't found this barn find yet, you can also take the opportunity to upgrade one and earn the Fly Like a Regal achievement.

I just did this easily with your strategy. I would restrict my search to A class for this car, 700+ rating, which stand out compared to the default D class. Buy them for 4K-19K, sell for similar.

Now that the auction house has slowed down a lot I've got a small tip that might help. The AMG Transport Dynamics (Halo Warthog) consistently sold for me. I put a lot of different cars up; some were expensive, some were cars with the bonuses from the spin wheel, and some were really cheap, but the only ones that sold every time were the Warthogs.
What I did was first go into the auction and search to buy the Warthogs. I bought 5 of them for as cheap as I could, typically 700-800k. Then, I immediately auctioned them for the lowest price the game would let me, which was something like 468k. Set the timer to 24 hours for the sales. You'll lose money but you'll gain the cheevo.
Hope this helps any stragglers still looking for a few more achievements in FH3 before FH4 hits!

This achievement can be boosted using second account or it can be done with a friend. It can also be obtained solo if you are patient enough.
For starters, just list five cars on the Auction House with a low starting price and low buyout. Buy the cars using a second account, ask your friends to buy them or just wait for random people to buy the cars. Once done, you will have several Auction Alerts; open these to resolve the auction (and receive credits). After resolving five sold items, the achievement will unlock.

I would recommend setting the time to 24 hours.
