How to unlock the Flight Of The Hoonicorn achievement in Forza Horizon 3 - Definitive Guide

The Surfers Park Danger Sign is located in the top right portion of the map in big city area. Use cn_LB to show just the Danger Signs. You will need a lot of speed to achieve a 450 foot jump to get a three star rating. Start on the road leading up to the ramp and then turn towards the jump and avoid the trees. If you hit a tree just use the rewind. I had a hard time going off the jump without it making the car roll one way or the other. Try to hit the ramp dead center without steering at all. I had to hit the ramp at around 160mph to get enough distance. Good luck!

EDIT: Sounds like most people needed more speed than I posted. I got 453 feet and I left the ramp at 160mph. Here is a clip to hopefully help some people with the approach and the angle needed to get enough distance.

Thank you darkavenger786 for the clip!

I can try to get one tonight. Can't right now because I'm at work. If anyone else wants to drop a link to a video of them doing it in the meantime I will add it to the solution.

As far as the tune question goes, I did not touch the vehicle at all. It was completely stock.

This is just ridiculous, no matter what I do I always flip. I'm actually having a harder time with this one then I did with the "land, sea, and air" achievement. What a complete joke.

I had issues as well. I probably tried 50-60 times before I got it right. I just kept rewinding and tried hitting the ramp from different angles. When I go it though I was dead center in the ramp and not making any steering inputs. Hopefully it wasn't a fluke. I will do my best to get a video up ASAP.

Maybe I will also try tuning the car and changing some of the suspension settings to see if it can be done that way. Maybe the rally suspension?

I think it helps to clear away some of the trees, benches, and shrubs. Also use the apartment buildings as a target for getting through the park. And it's 137 metres for you metric people.

I can't believe it made any difference but I did it in a private online session which always seems to have less traffic. Oh, and I down loaded a tune to make the car a bit quicker. You do need to aim a little to the right to avoid the tree on the other side of the river.

Like Beanpotter said, it seems the car don't flip when hitting the ramp on its very right side. I took the ramp at 250km/h and finish the jump 141 meters away on the road after the river, landing on the 4 tires.

This achievement is so buggy. I've cleared and successfully landed anywhere from 450 to over 460 ft over a dozen times now and the achievement will not pop at all.

Edit - Ok this is weird. Decided to hard reboot the console and start Forza Horizon 3 up again. I check my achievements and it now shows it unlocked, but never popped the animation. My phone then buzzed and showed the achievement but with a timestamp of 5:19pm. It's now just after 7pm. Truly bizarre.

thank you darkavenger786 for that clip. it seems that 160 mph isn't enough speed to make this jump.

Use rally setup, helps for sure. Doesn't flip so much.

It's because they designed the jump to make it aggravating. Otherwise, those two trees wouldn't be sitting in the middle of the landing zone.

It probably took me 20 to 25 tries to get this - I'd either hit the tree or come off the ramp a little bit cockeyed and "fail" the jump.

If you nailed it on your first go, excellent - but it was just luck. When you succeed it it will be because of luck.

My successful try I finally missed the tree but hit the lamppost just to the right behind it and missed the distance by like 10 feet. So I hit rewind and it only took me back to the middle of the jump (instead of all the way back to the ramp) and I resumed and this time I missed the tree and the lamppost and got it by exactly 1 foot.

Abuse the rewind and if you get anywhere close to the required distance, rewind and resume a few times and see if it will "give" you the distance.

This achievement is shit. Probably about 50 tries so far, most of the time i'm stupidly coming off the ramp sideways. About 10 times i've landed all 4 wheels down hitting 500+ and it fails me because my front end comes up a few inches.

I hit the ramp at 163 mph with rally suspension and hit 485.28 ft. The rally suspension does make one hell of a difference because stock suspension doesn't give me the liftoff (I keep rolling to the right like I'm tying to do a barrel roll but I ain't) I need but with the rally one it helps. THAT BITCH ASS ACHIEVEMENT IS IN THE BIN FINALLY.

EDIT: I just made a tune for this one it's "Flight Hoonicorn" with description Flight of the Hoonicorn achievement just look for me FLASHxBumblebee. Your welcome in advance.

If someone who has the Hoonigan DLC create a blueprint with 1965 Hoonigan Ford "Hoonicorn" Mustang to go to Surfers Park Danger Sign if he wants let's sent the gamertag to follow him because we can do the achievement without having to DLC. I done 3 achievemets with this way, Squashed Banana, Rockin' Horse & Got That Swagger.

This took me a while but I finally cracked it. After 30 or so tries with the videos and such, I figured you needed a much longer run up to the ramp.

I would suggest starting near the viewpoint/edge of the actual highway/road and getting atleast up to 165-170MPH and hitting the jump since your speed does reduce when you take it. Aim to the right of the jump a bit and I'd suggest the off road set up would help A LOT especially when landing.

Just rewind if you've lost speed as speed IS crucial here.

Okay this achievement is annoying and whilst the guide made by vXTotalChaosXv is perfectly fine it did not help when it came to what build he used to get the job done. So I am adding my own input and clip of it succeeding just to help anyone who isn't too sure on how to approach it. Now I live in the UK so to get 3 stars on the Surfers Park Danger sign I needed to hit a minimum of 137 metres. Yes it does it in metres and I ain't switching to feet.

Now the most important part is getting a nice clean run up without really slowing down at all, to do this abuse the rewind button over and over until your satisfied with the run up. And then simply aim pretty much for the dead centre of the sign. I hit the sign at around 172MPH and maintained a good 150+ whilst in the air. So try and aim for these numbers and avoid that bloody tree.

And the main reason for making my own solution is in this part, now for the build I used for the car. I upgraded to Race Brakes. Added the Offroad Springs and Dampers. And changed my car to the offroad tyres, this was so all because most of this sign requires you to drive ridiculously fast on the grass.

Video below of it getting the job done this took a good few attempts and sadly the video does not show the achievement popping just because that is how the Xbox recording software seems to work but trust me it got the job done and beat my personal best!

How are you using meters for distance and MPH for velocity? Switch everything to metric like normal people. Lol

A good track to do this on is Surfers Park Danger Sign, which is near the beach of Surfers Paradise. You need to get a lot of speed to get a 450-foot jump and a 3-star rating. Start on the long road just before the jump, then take a slight right and avoid the trees. Do your best to hit the ramp in the centre, with little steering.

Thanks to KicKnaZZ Games for the video.
