How to unlock the Going Supernova achievement in Forza Horizon 3 - Definitive Guide
For the King of the Mountain (KotM) races, I recommend creating a blueprint so you can select whichever car you prefer. Make sure you blueprint one with the weather to "Blizzard" and use the 1966 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck so you can unlock the "Needs More Blizzard" and "It's Still Got It" achievements.
Leading up to 100 stars (before you get the Ford Gymkhana), I used the #2 Audi Sport Quattro S1. It's good for getting the challenge scores on KotM, and gets good speed and control for completing races quickly. For the danger signs, you might as well grab the 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4 (since you need it for the What's "Safety" achievement) and equip it with a good off-road tune. Once you unlock and complete the Kingmaker event (at approx. 100 stars), you unlock the Ford Gymkhana 9 Focus RS RX, which is great for finishing drift zones and other challenges. For the speed traps on straights, with a good run, the Lancia Stratos mentioned above should do the trick. For the other speed zones, I went with the Gymkhana, again. For the Tight Bends Speed Zone, I got a good run from a North East position and ploughed through some trees, used my rewinds to get slow enough to get my nose through the gate. For the Sharp Descent speed zone, ride, don't slide. I tried several different vehicles for this, but the Gymkhana for the win, again.
Here are the vehicles that I used that you might prefer:
- #2 Audi Sport Quattro S1 (KotM and drift)
- Ford Gymkhana 9 Focus RS RX (speed and drift)
- Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck (drift and speed {+ weight} + also linked to "It's Still Got It!" achievement)
- Lancia Delta S4 Group B (personal, initial choice)
- Lancia Stratos HF Group 4 (danger zones + also linked to "What's Safety?" achievement)
- Nissan Titan Warrior Concept ("Snowdown" achievement)
- RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck ("Personally, I Prefer the Air" achievement)
- Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15R Rally Car ("Snowboating" achievement)
- Subaru Impreza 22B STI Horizon Edition w/ Drift Skills boost (drift and speed zones)
Idea from xPandorasRagex - For those having trouble with drift scores, try looking at your settings and ensure STABILITY CONTROL is OFF.
Another tip for drift scores is try to equip a high-class tune, since most vehicles with snow tires won't drift well in the lower classes.
KotM tip from MushaConvoy - If you're having a hard time with any KotM challenges, finding a co-op friend, you can take turns completing the challenge, while the other wins. As long as you don't get in last place and your partner wins, you'll get a team win. :D
Personally, I prefer Don Joewon Song's because he makes a living out of creating tunes for these games, so they're GOOD.

I dont know if it's me or if the drivatars are whole lot harder. I have a fully upgraded rally car and truck set for these expeditions, and they are killing me on easy difficulty. Am I suppose to get all 3 stars in one go or can I come back for the challenges in the expeditions? Fuck this insanely difficult POS DLC!

There were definitely times that I wanted to delete friends off my friends list because of this. I found using the #2 Audi Sport Quattro S1, I was (eventually) able to complete the challenges on a much easier difficulty than I'd used to complete the base game. It's my understanding that you have to win and complete the challenges in one run. The slingshot and one of the skill points challenges gave me the hardest time, but sometimes, giving it a rest, or trying it with a lower class vehicle may help.

This was crazy helpful, I was really struggling with the Hoonigan Ford Focus but with the Aventador, tune and video guide it was beyond easy. Thanks so much.
For anyone after me that sees this it's the Aventador LP700-4 for the speed zones not the DLC one. Also I couldn't find the tune in suggested but found it straight away by searching for the author Koyori.

This solution relates specifically to the races with the third star for skill score
Personally, I struggled a lot with the skill score goals on the races. Here's what I found to be a good solution:
Car: Ford Gymkhana 9 Focus RS RX (Ken Block one)
Tune: Use one of the top rated ones, Don Joewon Song if possible!
Set Up
Drivertar Diffiuculty - New Racer
Traction Control - Off
Stability Control - Off
These two make it easier to drift!
Now for each race..
1) Load up the blueprint screen.
2) Press LB to select championships for your current car.
3) Select the Ford Championship (this puts you againt GT40s, GTs and trucks which are incomparable in speed)
4) If the race has laps, select around 5 laps to make sure you have plenty of time.
5) Make the weather clear, just makes life easier!
6) Start up the race.
The key to Point to Point races is to build a large combo from the start, so if you crash, restart the race.
The drivatars should be so slow you should easily build up a big lead and have plenty of time to fit in lots of drifts, e-drifts and wreckage!
Let me know of any way I could improve this solution :)

Great tipps, thanks! I would add, that you can updgrade your Skills Tab for the car you are using. Late in the game I have 90+ available points. Faster and higher Multiplyer does help a lot.

This guide was translated automatically.
Problems may arise with the star for gentle touching, where you need to gently touch the obstacle in the skid... barely touch it. Everything else is basically simple.

There is no need to touch anything gently there. The task is extremely simple - during a skid you need to touch the fence at speed with the back of the car, or better yet, with the wheel.

MacFli writes “a gentle touch, as if the most difficult thing”; it is not necessary to catch the moment with the touch of the bump stop (there is also rewind) It is much more difficult to score 250,000 points in a race. Create a race for your favorite car and it’s much easier to recruit.
