To unlock this achievement you need to first reach Level 3 in Unranked Team Adventure. From there, you can move on to Ranked Team Adventures. The rules and gameplay are identical to unranked games so you should be familiar with the mode by that point.

The The Spirit of Adventure achievement in Forza Horizon 4 worth 69 pointsReach level 5 in Racing Team Adventure, Games Team Adventure, or Anything Goes Team Adventure.

After reaching Rank 3, navigate to Pause Menu > Team Adventure > Ranked Team Adventure. You simply need to complete your 10 placement matches to receive a league and unlock the achievement, even if you play terribly and get placed in a very low league you will have met the requirements.

Currently, the biggest struggle to obtaining this achievement is finding a match.

Biggest mess is that you have to do 10 races first until you get a rank. This is waaaay too much, esp. considering the fact you find games these days very rarely.

is there a good time to do it as been trying well over hour just gets 11 players then failed to get players keeps doing that good time to rack up some skills on car when waiting. but it annoying i can't even get in a ranked one only this achievement left and barn find and that it. the racked mode is broken bad probably have to wait for a update for them to finish it off or fix it

Man that was a crappy achievement. Banned 3 times and the fact that basically you cant access any menus while you are finding players which really ruined some of the stuff I could do while I waited.

Having the same issue as everyone else it spends forever just constantly searching then it might pop up game found but then it only gets to 8/12 accepted and starts searching again ive managed to find 2 games so far in 2 days. god help anyone trying to go for this in 6months time you wont have a chance.

Managed to go from 2-7 last night played i would have had 8 but got disconnected in the 8th game and banned wtf! gunna try get the last 3 games tonight hopefully. Its a slow process and id imagine once people get the cheevo they dont touch the ranked mode again so is definitely worth trying to get it asap.

I got dropped in the final match for qualifying resulting in the achievement NOT popping despite qualifying. Playing another round with my rank changing didn't help pop it either.

I'm hoping that they fix this later on and have it pop automatically... otherwise I'll have to try again when it resets.

yeah, i went from 0 to 10 in it all today. the one i did before that was the anything goes playlist, which took 2 days. i also attempted the just games playlist, that one is horrible, it probably takes over 2 hours to find a match.

I got to Level 3 in Games Only and can't find a ranked team only match. Shame because its easily the most fun, the racing one isn't that great and is poorly balanced.

Probably best I just bite the bullet and get to Level 3 in Racing Only, as people have reported thats the easiest one to find matches.

Also the matchmaking issues just generally are terrible. Disconnected randomly even though there is nothing wrong from the router, which is a kicker as you only earn influence AFTER you finish an event.

So I started this today, so far I have managed to get 7 done in 4 hours. Its a pain that's for sure, but judging by what everyone else is experiencing, I am getting an easier rid with finding matches. It seems once you find a match, the match has only a limited time to fill all spots up. I don't understand why they did it this way, it would of been better for everyone if there wasn't a time limit. Total fail!

It should only be a few hours ban, at first it will say to wait for the game to finish, but eventually it will give you an actual timer for your ban.

Yeah, so I completed all 10 and a few more. Now I'm in league 18 in Anything Goes Ranked.... still no achievement... Given the difficulty of finding matches (although it was a bit easier this weekend), I'm hoping this just pops up sometime. Doing this all over is a nonstarter.

Contrary to the above comments, I previously had issues getting into games but going into this weekend I had 1/10 completed. I did the other 9 over a couple of days, probably having to wait 15 minutes between matches with many failing but certainly finding matches a lot quicker. They got disconnected on their last matches, thats what happened.

The count went up to their 10th game but the achievement triggers after a match which they dont see hence why they dont get it.

Its hard to get games but stick with it. I did it on three different days and I got it today. Main problem is at the end of the match you get kicked back and you have to restart the search. Let it search and do other things in the game like finding roads or boards. I found it help pass the time.

batfink, you clicked on ranked games and it shows 3 sections 3 x unranked and 0/10 in all of them, you have to complete 10 matches of this, just keep searching this, even try clicking on the ranked match search again to set it off again as it helps sometimes, im afraid it's a case of keep trying, i have 6 done so far but i have been trying this all day today, there is a session on T.A. tomorrow at 8pm for people trying to get this.

if you see the x in the list of players it means it's a ranked match you are playing.

So after 4 days of frustrations on this achievement I am at a loss.

I ranked up all 3 ranked modes and try to find a ranked adventure in any. No luck. I have wasted hours waiting to join a rank adventure when it’s 11/12 and Cancels or I get booted half way through the 5 events with no credit. 4 days and only 3/10 on games, 0/10 for the other two.

This set up is beyond ridiculous. >.<

Doing the Race Only discipline definitely helps. Having lots of success finding matches in that playlist, even if it does fail once in a while. Doable though.

As said above, Race only is the way to go. I got all 10 yesterday (between about 0300GMT & noon GMT), almost without fail (twice got dumped from the pick car screen). Just avoid ~5mins before Forzathon unitl ~15min past the hour. Shame the ranked lobby doesn't continue like it does with unranked, where the issue is trying to quit.

Yup, racing all the way unfortunately. Games is the only pvp mode I enjoy, but ranking it up to level 5 was a waste of my time it seems. Unlocked ranked for racing and I’m finding matches with no problems, usually. I have yet to disconnect once the match is underway.

Just got the achievement, racing is the way to go. Had trouble getting into a match at first but then did 6 in a row. Eventually got the other 4. It took most of the day and a lot of patience but it's possible.

This is mostly fixed now or just more people want to do it. Did 10 in a row took 4 hrs, although 1 session did bug. I was on 8/10, it never started got stuck on loading and put us back in lobby. Stats still said 8/10 but the achievement popped when I finished my 9th match so I skipped 1 muahaha.

Not sure if it's on my end, but I have had no luck getting a race match today. I've been constantly trying for 4 hours and have successfully entered one. The matches either get to the loading screen and then the server kicks everyone out, or not enough people join the session even though the HUD clearly says "12/12 accepted." Very bizarre.

This really shows just how bad the pvp is in this game. Flag game is completely broken, if the whole other team sits on the actual flag, you can't actually pick it up. Some players also seem to have tunings that completely break the class levels.

I can't believe people are complaining about needing to do 10 adventures for the achievement. There are achievements in Forza Motorsport titles for completing every event and there's normally more than 100 events, with 5 or 6 races, or a very long endurance event. Now that's a real chore! Ok, I understand that the matchmaking isn't great, but I'm getting there slowly, and I only recently started trying team adventures.

This one is ridiculous only because of the shitty matchmaking. I spent a few hours continually looking for matches and only got one that resolved. All the rest got the required 12 players but kicked everyone out at the last second with the "not enough players" error. Fix it Microsoft...at least make it possible to have a match with a minimum number as long as there is 2 competing.

Patience is key here, I managed to knock this out in two nights by trying, trying and trying again. That included 11/12 players problem, not enough to start match even with 12, crashing out to free roam in the vehicle selection screen and getting booted mid race. You just have to stick at it.

Must say that things have improved slightly on the matchmaking front however it was still tedious as hell.

I spent a few hours each evening for the last week to get this. Frustratingly it was still a bit hit or miss getting a match. Annoying that the timeout clock is still far to quick when waiting for players to join. If they just left this for say 30 sec - 1 min then i'd imagine the majority of games would start, by allowing people time to get out of the menus and accept.

Some friends have said they did the races one and had no real problems, i did mine in the games adventure so that might have been why my experience was slower.

This is still an absolute joke of an achievement. Yesterday I was finding sessions pretty much straight away and managed to get 5 of them done and had already done 1 a few weeks ago. Today, it's now saying I need 0/4 to get to ranked. Fair enough, I'd done 6/10. But will it hell find a session. Searching for ages and every time it finds one, it's getting 11/12 and going with the "not enough players".

I can confirm that doing ranked FREE-FOR-ALL RACING will get you this achievement. Not only that, but I had almost no troubles finding matches. Did 10 of them from February 2nd - February 9th and only waited longer than 1-2 mins once. Also it lets you start the playlist as long as 10 people accept their invite.

So after doing a bit of research, apparently you can have negative points in your rank. So for those of us who are in league 20 with 0 points, it's likely because of having negative points. So we need to do more matches before we will see the points go up. I am going to do approx 10 matches or so today and see if it changes - You also have to win for it to increase.

So I did the time out method and got to 10 matches and got rank 20 with zero points and the achievement didn’t pop! Now I’m going through doing matches to try and increase my points above zero to see if it then pops but I just get 0 points every match!!! Just wanted to point out and re-assure others that might be in my position

If you get ranked and the achievement does NOT pop, rest assured, you are not SOL

I ranked in Team Games in the last series and the achievement did not pop, so I waited until the new series to get “reset”, and unfortunately got sent back all the way back to 0/10 Ranked Games, but I did 9/10 and then did the 10th one Legit, as in, played the entire match until the end and the achievement popped during the “winning team” sequence.

So happy to have all the achievements in this game once and for all!

This popped no problem for me. I just done the Spirit of Adventure achievement, then paused the game, went to Online Adventure > Ranked Adventure and took part in 1 series (3 races), completed the races and it popped as soon as it showed the winning team celebrating

It only pops up for 15seconds, if you're doing well on a drift zone or something and dont want to quit out you're shit out of luck but so are the other 11 waiting. Surely at any one time theres more than 12 people looking for one though

Wouldn't worry about the player base going forward, so many people tried to get on with game pass last night that it crashed the online servers.

Super relieved that one's performance doesn't matter. In PvP and Co-op races I normally come in the top half pretty consistently, for whatever reason the 2 team adventure matches I've done I've really sucked haha.

This might make the grind to Level 5 easier. I would presume you get more influence in ranked matches??

I got kicked out from my 10th adventure, and i got in League 20, Rank 0. No chivo. I played 3 matches since then, but my rank did not omove anywhere. So what should i do? Will the achievement unlock in the future or did i just fuck up?

To anyone where this isn't unlocking, I'd recommend a) ranking in one of the other 2 disciplines or b) waiting until November, by which point it won't seem quite so monotonous. It would appear these reset once a month, I can't categorically confirm that but it would make sense. Unlike the antique restorer glitch, at least we can keep retrying this one.

This achievement (or rather the online itself) is super, super broken though. You get banned for disconnecting BEFORE matches start, sometimes you get 2-3 matches in 30 mins and other times you get none in an hour, you only get 20 seconds for all 12 people to confirm a match or you disconnect (why doesn't it just take you to a lobby?! Then it can just keep searching for the 1 or 2 people more to connect). One of the best games I've played in a long time, one of the worst multiplayer set-ups I've played...full stop

. Currently on 4/10, 2 bans (neither of which were me actually quitting.)

I'm still working on this but have found that sometimes closing the game from the dashboard and restarting can sometimes help find a match. Also, doing the Race Only discipline as Stevanno mentioned seems to be the best way to get matches.

The matchmaking for ranked is clearly bugged, it gives such a short amount of time to get 12 players, and even when it does, its crashed on the event list and sent me back to freeroam. Hopefully it'll get patched but for now this is what we've got I suppose....

Yes, it reset, but in a way that ain't too unfair.

For a league that you've already qualified for you have to do 1 race to get back into it, and for a league you've already done some of the placement matches, it will count the difference.

In my case, I finished the 10 placement matches for "races only" and 1 placement match for "games only". Now after the reset I have 0/1 "races only" and 0/9 "games only".
This is what happened to you @XenomorphFiend, you completed 3 matches before the reset, so after the reset you where at 0/7. The 4th match you completed counted as 1/7, so 6 more to go.

That means you won't lose previous progress :)

EDIT: Maybe this information can be put into the solution so that people will know about this without going through all of the comments.

Phew, Ive managed to complete this.
Not only do we have to deal with the 11/12 issue, but most games that get a full 12/12 people failed to even start, and we all get kicked out.
Very annoying as you then have to find another Live session, and go in to select Team Adventure again.
Its as if the brief for this achievement was "we need one achievement that's guaranteed to piss off all the players".

Was prepared for the worst with all the comments here.
Managed to get this over the course of a few hours.
Timing and availability seem to be key.
I went to the wind farm, hopped in a skills boost Renault, hit join ranked, and ran skills until a lobby fleshed out.
Usually did not get all 12 the first time, just kept accruing skills, and hitting X when prompted.
A few hours later, I had the achievement, and 369 skill points to spend.
Done and done! 100%

@etcher1981 I got my 1st game on sunday afeternoon and the 10th was on Monday afternoon. Usually get in game in 5-15 mins and 1 game is around 20 mins (if lose or wint 3, than faster). If I got 11/12 or so, I started a new "Ranked" match search.

I was having trouble getting this to pop aswell I got ranked in league 17 and no achievement. I even tried to rank up to see if it would pop but nothing. I decided to wait until the league reset (i believe its every 30 days but I could be wrong). I loaded up the game today for the brand new league and under the free for all tab where I did my qualifying matches it said unranked 0/1 so I did the 1 qualifying match and the achievement popped. Hopefully others will have the same luck.

I tried this headache last night. Due to being in europe i guessed that a time window "late night" would be best so there also would be USA players online. Getting a match took almost an hour, continous 11 of 12 players. When i finally I got in a game, i ended round 3 and got a wheelspin.

After the wheelspin i was back freeroam instead of round 4. My game stated offline play. There hadn't been a internet connection drop. Is this happening to others as well?

I am guessing the getting a wheelspin takes to long and gets you kicked from your active session. I was surprised to see a wheelspin, the method of motorsport 6/7 aka "save all wheelspins till you finished your online session" should be the prefered method in my opinion.

offtopic sidenote /rant : when for gods green earth is that audio buffer problem gonna be fixed? Total ridiculous, the first racing game i need to play without sound on... Everytime occurs when skils are being added.

This achievement still has issues. Just got ranked Tier 10 and no unlock. Got disconnected as many others have reported on the award screen of the last adventure and it did not count, was able to get it to tally 1 more by timing out, however, this did not pop the achievement. I also had completed FFA Adventure first, so multiple strikes against me it appears after reading the comments.

For those who unlocked FFA during one series, did this one unlock in the next series when you did only Team? Will have to try again next series. Stupid game.

Spliner is right the 8th game that i got disconnected from still counted. i only needed to do 2 games last night which took almost 2 hrs to find but i got the cheevo once the 10th round had finished. SOOOOO happy to get this annoying achievement out of the way i may still just just try play the odd round just to be a filler in the spirit of helping out some other poor gamer gunning for this achievement.

First off I definitely recommend you do this in Free-for-all adventure so you get this and the achievement for being ranked in that mode at the same time.

You must first reach level 3 by playing unranked matches first to be able to play your 10 'qualifying' matches which doesn't take too long happily.

Once you reach level 3 start your qualifying matches, all influence earned in these still count towards your Horizon Life level for Racing Online Adventure so you will get to level 5 before you finish the 10 matches and thus get another achievement out of the way.

After you pop the level 5 achievement you can save time by entering a qualifying match, picking your car and then just staying idle until the game kicks you out, the game still counts this as 1 qualifier completed even if it doesn't show it in the menu.

Repeat those steps until you count 9 qualifiers done, then play the 10th all the way through (same as earlier try and get the 3 street races list if you can) and both achievements should pop.

That's strange but I've heard of that happening on the Forza forum too, not too sure what to tell you as for me it was 10 qualifiers for getting ranked and both this + ranked in free for all achievements popped for me within a few seconds of each other.

Just a Solution update, as of 17/06/21 (When i have unlocked the achievement) it only requires 1 placement race to get placed in league and I found a game in about 2 minutes on Oceania Servers so a very simple achievement but still have to be Racing online adventure level 3.

To avoid any trouble with this achievement, play team modes unranked until you get 3rd level (not free-for-all; especially it is much faster to find a team adventure). Then go to ranked and play ONE team game (first on the left). Cannot be missed - game shows you have 0/1 matches played to get ranked.
