How to unlock the Kingmaker achievement in Forza Horizon 4 - Definitive Guide

EDIT: If you already have completed Upgrade Heroes and have all the stars, this achievement and the other Upgrade Heroes achievements should unlock when you load the game. Thanks LeGagnan!

So kinda like some of the other Forza Horizon 4 businesses/story missions, you will need to get 3 stars on 10 missions.
Before you start Upgrade Heroes, make sure you have 100,000 CR as you'll need it to purchase the business.
You'll get a daily CR payout after purchasing.

The majority of missions will start with you driving to a point, getting the car and bringing the car back to the spot to "upgrade" it without going over the damage limit. Those parts do not count towards stars. Just don't damage the car too much when bringing the car to wherever as you will have to redo that part of the mission.

After the car has been upgraded, go crazy with shortcuts and offroading as it'll be needed for a lot of the missions (except for the final mission).

The Challenges
1. The Datsun - Finish in 1min 28sec
2. The Audi - Finish in 2min 15sec
3. The Camino - Finish in 1min and stay above 100mph or 160.93km/h.
4. The Mazda - Get 80,000 drift points
5. The Chevrolet - Reach 185 mph or 295km/h at the Speed Trap
6. The Land Rover - Finish in 1min 40sec
7. The Peugeot - Get over 180,000 skill points.
8. The Ford - Finish in 2min 10sec
9. The Bentley - Finish in 2min 20sec
10. The Koenigsegg - Finish in 3min 20sec and don't go over the damage limit.

If you got all 3 stars on all 10 missions, you should unlock this as well as:
Forza Horizon 4Wolf in Sheep's ClothingThe Wolf in Sheep's Clothing achievement in Forza Horizon 4 worth 100 pointsComplete all chapters of the "Upgrade Heroes" story.

The only one I had difficulty with was the Mazda, had to quit out and turn off the assists like breaking, steering, traction and stability, left gearing as auto as I suck at manual. There is a cross roads about half way through the run I recommend going left, right, right , and left back onto the recommended route to give you a few extra corners so you are basically driving around the square on the mini map. Time isn't an issue. I was able to comfortably get 90k that way on my first attempt.

Yeah that was the only real pain out of all the challenges IMO. I had gears on manual and shifted between 2 and 3 to get something going.

If you had already completed all of the chapters the achievements should unlock as you load the game.

Thanks, forgot this was added previously and not part of Update 20.

Remember to use rewind, espescially on the Land Rover (offroad hitting trees and houses) and Koenigsegg (hitting traffic and stone fences) missions.

How do you even 3 star the Camino? Always about 5+ seconds off

@tjw CENA2000 - What I did was try to maintain my speed as much as possible and rewind any time I collided with something. Don't be afraid to brake a little if you feel like you're going to hit a wall.

5. The Chevrolet - Reach 185 mph at the Speed Trap
That's 298km/h for anyone wondering. But the game says it in the menu.

As mossfan563 said, don't be scared about slightly breaking in corners. Did it first time around 56 seconds, so it is tight, but not too bad.

No need to brake at all. You can drive through the wall without losing that much speed. 57 seconds on second try.

Alright, Finished the Camino on my 2nd attempt (for the night) last night, shortly after commenting on this. I brake lightly in some spots, I busted through a wall, an drifted like across the grass for a second was going at 142mph when I was back on the road. (took off without a issue). The corner I busted through was the corner that took you to the long somewhat straight road. I finished with a little over 58 seconds

3- just drive straight at the start to the main road and don’t brake in corners.
4- Got 86k in the Mazda first try with traction and automatic on So it’s possible

For the Camino I found that cutting off road through the stone wall on the corner after the big downhill at the start shaved a couple seconds off. Takes a few tries to get the right line but it allows you to maintain a lot more speed through the corner (especially in winter).

I am glad winter is done, and can try the Camino during the spring with dry roadsrock

All were pretty easy for me except the Keonigsegg. I kept running into cars/trees before I could hit rewind so I was contantly having to restart.

That Mazda is so shit for drifting. They deserve to go out of business after turning out that piece of crap!

Agreed that drift one is @#$!ing terrible. So frustrating, such a terrible car for drifting.

Thanks for this. I thought I’d have a go at these yesterday but it’s currently winter. Challenge 3 with the Camino is almost impossible as a result. I’m not slow by any means but need to cut it by 2 seconds for 3 star. Just going to wait until Tuesday for the next season.

The only one that gave me trouble was The Peugeot, some of the score based story chapters can be annoying. I got the rest of these on my first try, even the Mazda chapter. For that one, I recommend turning Traction Control and Stability Control off in the Difficulty settings and try to drift even a little bit once you gain some speed using the e-brake, even on the straight section I try to get a couple of drifts in.

Maybe worth noting too (for those of us in KM/h rather than M/h), challenge 5 is 298 KM/h. Will thumbs up if you add that.

The vehicular hermaphrodite one is a real pain in the dick. Was a tenth of a second too late in the winter, but managed it with one second and a half left on the second try during spring. Peugeot is a close second, there's no good place to get any point in that one. Mazda is probably third, but only because the car is so underpowered compared to what you'd expect it to be for a drift car. To be fair, I mostly struggled because I was rusty. The rest was pretty easy. Nice serie overall, but preferred the delivery one to be honest. Best advice would be to do it during any season other than winter, and get used to the game before attempting (if you haven't played in a while).

in the mazda chapter, turn off the traction, it will be very easy.

the Peugeot one i have issues with the most, the time limit doesn't seem appropriate to the amount of score you need to get...

^ I’ve given up trying it in Winter lol. It’s crazy difficult. So props to you if you can finish it in Winter because it’s almost nigh-on impossible.

For the last mission, instead of turning right at the first big shift, turn left to join the highway ;)

The El Camino one is kicking my ass. It's also Winter right now so I guess I have to wait until Spring to get more traction for 3 stars. The Peugeot and Mazda ones took me forever too.

Yes the El Camino one was terrible. I'd suggest taking advantage of the rewind system. Floor it and try perfect the bends as you go with the rewind system. The Camino drives like a boat and is horrible, luckily did it just now in spring. Can't imagine how terrible it is in winter.

How are you getting the Mazda to go that fast in the video? Mine is topping out at like 70 MPH so its not carrying momentum out of the turns... it basically comes to a stop.

The Camino one is definitely possible in Winter as I’ve just done it but it is a lot of hard work.

Just did the Camino in winter as well. Pay attention to your time early on and try different routes and see which gets you the furthest in the first 10 seconds. Turned out I was wasting 3 seconds by going too far right or left. Finished in 58 seconds after sorting that part out and using rewinds to work through the rest.

That Mazda chapter is horrible. All assists off, Manual, and it still would not slide. Minimal acceleration, and the slightest touch of the brakes makes it stop. Easily the worst car provided for any of the story chapters.

Ignore everyone saying that the Madza and Peugeot ones are difficult. Clearly these people forgot to turn off traction AND stability control.

Heres a tip for mazda. Leave all settings on default. Never go for a drift early. Wait for right when the car auto switches from 2nd to 3rd gear. Once it switches hit the A to E drift. Then do this the whole way through only drift when u have hit 3rd gear each time. Anything below isnt worth it and the cars so bad at acceleration u need to make each one count.

When i noticed this and tried this techinique i did it first try no problem.

I didnt need to turn traction control off or switch to manual like i did when 3 starring drift zones.

Hope this helps
