How to unlock the SKILLING STREAK! achievement in Forza Horizon 4 - Definitive Guide

This achievement has supposedly been fixed. It now correctly unlocks after obtaining all 30 stars in the Skill Streak story. However, some are still reporting unlocking it early. This video demonstrates it and may help anyone who's struggling:

NOTE ABOUT CO OP: Co op does not make this any easier unfortunately...

All credit goes to MotoGamesTV

Here are the point values required for each: (Good suggestion, thanks KinectKid333)
Challenge 1: 320,000 points (64,000 X 5.0)
Challenge 2: 285,000 points (57,000 X 5.0)
Challenge 3: 45 Near misses
Challenge 4: 255,000 points (51,000 X 5.0)
Challenge 5: 50 Air skills
Challenge 6: 235,000 points (47,000 X 5.0)
Challenge 7: 180,000 points (36,000 X 5.0)
Challenge 8: 200,000 points (40,000 X 5.0)
Challenge 9: 255,000 points (51,000 X 5.0)
Challenge 10: 265,000 points (53,000 X 5.0)

UPDATE: This appears to unlock when you have 30 stars TOTAL, across all stories.

Supposedly unlocked for getting all 30 stars in the Skill Streak story, but I unlocked this and the 30 stars for Ishi's taxis achievements despite having never played Skill Streak, and only around 20 stars on taxis. So these achievements must be bugged.

EDIT: Looks like everyone has had this happen. Free achievement, for now...

Likewise. I popped all 3 - 30 star achievements and have only completed part of Racing Green. Just started this Skill Streak today (after I got the 30 stars achievement at that!)

Something is wrong, 3x 50GS is caught right away, for additional challenges we get 3x 10GS and 3x 5GS. The rest of 9 achievements, I do not want to stick.

@holyhalfdead yeah I loaded up the game and didn’t get any othe the achievements. I have only played FH4 a little bit only having like 6 achievements in the game so you’re theory is probably right. My achievement progress for these 30 star achievements went to 20% instead of unlocking.

I'm also thinking that installing Title Update 7 may have "fixed" them.

Can anyone confirm if the patch has fixed it?

We will remove the Buggy+ flag once it is confirmed. It has already been removed from the "complete 10 chapters" achievements which they "fixed".

I didn't get the achievements for the 30 stars right away. I did them all legit, and they really aren't that difficult. The only one that was somewhat difficult was the 30 stars for skill streak but none took over a few tries. Just remember you can go off the route, and it's easier to build skill streaks that way in my opinion.

@ HolyHalfDead I got 36\100 stars in that achievement's progression
s i guess the 2 cheevos might be connected each other (dunno what to think actually)

Interesting they are saying this is fixed. I logged in today for the first time since getting the update and it still unlocked the 30 star achievements. I don't even have the achievements for playing the first chapter on some of these.

@Cancerman1120 fixed or not i don't care , we got it and we don't need to get 30 stars anymore lol
try to get more stars as possible since we need to get 100 of them for another achievement

Pecorleon they patched it from what others said. You have to earn the other two 30 stars unless you get lucky and start up the taxi intro and have them pop. Mine only did the BRG as well. Had to work for the other two 30 stars.. really annoying that they patched it after everyone got the freebies lol. Wish I logged in last month with everyone else who got them just signing on.

Today was my first day logging into the game in probably at least 2 months and I still got all of the new 30 star achievements, including this one, despite not having played any of Skill stories. I had 30 stars in everything before the release of the Skill stories, however.

It's patched I had to earn all the stars. Pretty anoying. I'm sugesting doing it in co-op. I've done 7 solo and you need almost perfect run to get 3 star.

What difference does coop make? Do both your scores combine or something towards the original target? Never played coop so might be worth looking at if that's the case

So I tried co-op a few days back and it's worthless. All it does is pick the highest score out of those playing in co-op. The real kicker is that if someone gets 3 stars for the group, it does not count for each person. My friend got me 3 stars on the one I had trouble with, and it didn't count. I had to do it myself.

So no, it doesn't add together points. It doesn't count for you. And it is entirely worthless.

Wasn’t too difficult and I’m average at this game. The skill scores I did in 2 or 3 tries (frustrating when your streak seems to end a bit early)... fences are your friend!

It's not that bad, honestly. Just make sure you're always drifting (cycling between normal drift and E-brake drift if possible). Try to stay near some breakable scenery for an emergency save if your streak begins to run out. Oh, and turn off traction control for the GT-R in the last mission or it's gonna be miserable trying to get that damn thing to drift well.

I agree that number 6 Focus is really difficult. 2 mins is not a lot of time for 235,000 points. If anyone is having trouble, try this. At the start, leave the building and take a left, then take another left near the fence. You should see a series of small gravel mounds. Slalom back and forth across the mounds, drifting into the fence, bushes, and trash on either side. You get air, sideswipe, drift, and wreckage combos. At the end of the gravel mounds, you will see a large gravel mound. Ramp it, and drift 180 in the field to go back across the ramp and the gravel slalom. Pay attention to your score. You need to get about 12,000 points every 30 seconds. Also, you cannot break your combo (need 5x), but this method should keep your combo going.

1 and 10 absolutely suck. The viper and the 50 airs were definitely not easy either. Easily the hardest story. Took me about 6 hours to get all stars once I beat them all. Worst is level 1.

They couldn't have made this story more tedious, boring and grindy if they tried.

My tips for #1 and #9 - go to the sand dune area on the east coast and stack up on air skills.

For #6 zig zag over the gravel mounds, hitting the fences/bushes either side and repeat.

My tip for #10 is to drift offroad towards the map marker and after you cross the bridge stick to the road and zig zag drift into the fences/bushes on either side of the road as much as you can and don't go too fast.

I'll also second the suggestion to drive to the Bamburgh Castle dunes if you're struggling with the 50 air skills. Got it second try with 52 skills using this method. Also... Challenge 7 is just insultingly easy after the difficulties of challenges 1, 3, 5, and 6. Finished with 2 minutes left in challenge 7.

For the near misses in challenge 3 - Switch to Manual gearbox and don't go above 3rd gear. You top out around 116mph, which is quick enough to register the near miss and slow enough for you to keep control.

By Drei Lowen on 10 Aug 2020 16:07
Also for the near misses which is possibly obvious but wasn't to me... if you haven't got enough near misses close to the finish line there is plenty of time to just turn around and do another run up and down the motorway.

If anyone is struggling on Chapter 6 - Industrial Playground. Go to the immediate left after spawning to see a bunch of dirt mounds. Keep driving over them from left to right - right to left to get air times. I got it done first try after spending hours on it.

For challenge 8 I recommend heading to the Industrial Playground area and driving around there. The Jeep handles this area much better than the car in Chapter 6 and I easily got to 40,000 x 5.0

I had the most trouble with 3. The best advice I can give is slow down to 150 mph or so, it gives new cars time to respawn. Even then I barely made it.

chapter 5 with Scout : 1st gear and I did back and forth on a straight line (with a few big puddles)

To anyone reading these comments and dreading this, it’s nowhere near as bad as this makes it out to be. Don’t stick to the suggested routes for the skills targets, turn ABS and TCS off for the whole story and for the near misses one, just don’t floor it, go a steady 100mphish and the cars will spawn. Completed all but one on my first attempt, and I honestly enjoyed the story - much more enjoyable than that Upgrade Heroes crap anyways.

As someone that hates this skill score bullshit here's some tips on the ones I found harder. Also turn TCS off and just leave it off for everything, all the cars are AWD and easy to control.

1. Porsche 918 - Ignore the route and get on the freeway right away, drive in the oncoming lane and focus on high speed drifts and drift taps in the tunnels, and any time you see headlights straighten out the car for those juicy 1k ultimate near misses. Once you are perpendicular with the finish line get off the highway and go for wide open drifts in the fields all the way to the finish line.

4. BMW i8 - God this thing is a piece of shit, drive it straight ahead off the start point and get some speed going and then aim for wide long drifts back and forth in the fields, avoid e brake drifts while you have your speed up just use the cars momentum to drift back and forth (hold the drifts for a bit to get those 1k), you can spend some time in these fields before you need to head to the finish line but it might take a few tries to get the timing right.

6. Gymkhana Focus - This was probably my personal hardest, I just grinded it out in the industrial area. Avoid the e brake and just use the cars momentum to drift back and forth, smash everything you can but be careful driving straight along fences because they will slow your car down a ton and eventually break your chain.

9. Viper - Same strat as #1 but just stay on the freeway, this one is way easier than the 918 because the viper just loves to be sideways.

10. GTR - Similar to the i8 keep your speed up and go straight into the fields, the GTR grabs pavement hard but it slips back and forth really nicely in the fields, avoid the e brake and just keep nice long drifts back and forth. The hardest part I found here was hitting random trees I couldn't see behind bushes.

My guess is that all 3 of these achievements are unlocking for getting 30 stars in Horizon Stories. I would be interested to know if anyone unlocked them who had less than 30 stars. In other words, easier versions of

This was more difficult than I imagined it would be, but after playing a few chapters over and over over the course of a few days, I figured out a few tips. The hardest 2 for me were the electric car, and the last one. These needed either 265 or 255k points in 4 minutes, and you needed to get to the destination. what ended up working for me was following the guided line instead of trying to do drifts in the open field. While you may think it's important to get points quick, whats more important is getting your multiplier up early. So getting a bunch of 100 point drifts and e drifts will benefit you more than trying to get the 500 drift every time.

I did this during winter, so i took advantage of any snowmen(1000 points) I saw. 90% of my points were from crashing into small trees fences, or other items, with the others being edrifts, drifts, burnouts, and near misses. If I wasn't running over fences or trees, I'd floor it closer to the goal and hit A to get a edrift in order to save my combo. You MUST get a good 220k+combo to have any chance at any of these. Multiple times I'd get around 200k, and struggle trying to get the remaining points, but I'd run out of time getting to the destination.

Some big points I'd try and get were sideswiping, bins, snowmen, and the skilling combo.

Do NOT hang around the start and try and get a combo and a ton of points. I tried this, and ended up running out of time every time. If you see cars, try and trade paint with them for an added bonus.
