How to unlock the Wyldstyle achievement in Forza Horizon 4 - Definitive Guide

I know, this is not a solution for all skill challenges, but i guess we will have to piece it together, as there are a few skill challenges to knock out of the way before getting this achievement. Here is one solution for the Skill challenge 'Best in Show' (worth 30 bricks) which requires you to perform 20 Showoff-Skills. These are earned when passing an opponent racer while drifting (drift has to start before passing the opponent). I set up a road racing series event (blueprint) on Brickchester Loop Circuit called 'Showoff-Event'. It is set to 10 rounds, which should give you more than enough opportunities to get all 20 Showoff skills (time required: 7-10 mins). You can also quit the race after you completed your challenge! I used the 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible Barrett-Jackson Edition, tuned it to S2 952 class and the drivatar difficulty was set to highly skilled (I also created a Tune called 'Showoff Cheevo' which you can use instead of tuning yourself).
Another solution from
@HolyHalfDead 'The way I got 20 show off skills was a dirt track, easy difficulty, drop to the back of the pack, get 11 cars ahead on a bend you will slide on, speed past them and you are bound to get a show off skill, rewind twice and get the skill again. Rinse and repeat. No need for 10 laps.'
I used the Plymouth, as I also used it for the 'Feeling Hungry' (worth 50 bricks) skill challenge, where you have to perform 20 ultimate drafting skills in a Plymouth Cuda. This I did on the Road Racing series 'North South Sprint' (same drivatar difficulty as mentioned above). Just try to stick behind the car placed 2nd or 1st and you can do 4-5 Ultimate drafting skills in one run (~2mins).

- 'Real Ultimate Power': perform 200 Ultimate speed skills. When I had completed almost all brick challenges except for this one and the 'Lego Speed Champion' Event Challenge (144/200 skills already completed), I took my Lego McLaren Senna to the Falcon Speedway and lapped around it. You can do 4-5 skills per lap, if you have tuned it to X 999 class. Another option would be the street from the falcon speedway all around the island. There you should also be able to do a lot of the skills.

- 'The Sampler': perform 10 trading paint skills in 2 minutes (worth 30 bricks): as some people already mentioned, it might be easier to do this in Horizon Solo (to do this, go to the menu, select Horizon Life and then Horizon Solo), however, it is not necessary since you can get the Trading paint skill on the same traffic car(s). A good option to do it is on the outer streets of Brickchester. I selected the Lego Speed Champions McLaren Senna, tuned it to X 999 and just looked for a road with at least two cars (one might be sufficient, but two cars will make it easier). I highly recommend to NOT try going for the skill on oncoming traffic. Always use traffic that is driving in front of you. Then you get your Trading paint skill on those (two) cars, make a 180 turn, and get back behind them to go for another trading paint skill. Rinse and repeat. Should be no problem to complete the skill challenge within 2 minutes. You might be able to do it with another car as well, but I recommend doing it in a fast car (S2 or X) since you can then easily turn and get back behind the cars to get the skills in time.

To visualize it, here's a video of me doing 11 Trading Paint skills in about 2 minutes (skill challenge doesn't unlock since I already unlocked it). Please excuse the crappy sound, I don't know why the Xbox Game DVR messed it up:

@Gaz NCFC: For Sampler you can actually just rub against another 'player' car in solo view repeatedly no need to turn around
@TheFlyingBobin: Did similar to PolacoForever but chose a 15 lap blueprint that had already been created @ Flacon Loop Circuit. I managed to unlock two other skills at the same time:

- The Stalker (Perform 3 Ultimate Drafts skills in 3 minutes)
- Racing Master (Perform an Ultimate Drafting, Ultimate Pass and Ultimate Clean Racing skill, all within a minute)

Because the track is a small and simple circuit you can maintain good speed, easy handling/stability to stay behind the other cars for the drafting skills and it’s contained in a round circle so doing this inside a minute should be easy peasy. Just don’t go crashing into the walls.

Hope this helps guys! I’ve completed the whole DLC and these were my last few challenges.

For "The Sampler" how am i supposed to get 10 trading paint skills when there is simply not enough traffic on the roads? I have it set to solo to increase the amount of traffic but still no luck. It appears this doesn't work in races either.

To make any of the challenges that require other vehicles easier, examples Threading the needle, Trading paint, Stunt Double, etc. I recommend hitting start and going to Horizon Life. From there select Horizon Solo. There are more NPC vehicles AND you can see them on the mini map, making Stunt Double easier to set up.

Does anyone know how to get 10 trading paint skills in 2 minutes? There is not enough traffic! Yes, im in horizon solo.

Edit: Finally got it! Incredibly luck based. I just drove around trading paint until the game decided to actually spawn enough vehicles. I know, let's create an open world driving game with barely any traffic!

Why has this got so many neg votes? The TA community is going downhill. People take quite a bit of time putting up solutions trying to help. Save your neg votes for some of the crap solutions.

Anyway, the way I got 20 show off skills was a dirt track, easy difficulty, drop to the back of the pack, get 11 cars ahead on a bend you will slide on, speed past them and you are bound to get a show off skill, rewind twice and get the skill again. Rinse and repeat. No need for 10 laps.

Any tips for the 'lucky escapes' for I'm in Control I Swear? I've got 2 but I'm finding them very difficult. *EDIT: Got it! For anyone struggling I found this much easier to do in freeroam rather than during a race. Changed to Horizon Solo for more traffic, found a wide road with an oncoming vehicle and drifted past. Rewind twice and repeat until you've done all 20.

@EbonHawk01: Anyone have a suggestion as to what car to use for the 200mph in a cult car challenge?
This can be done in the Volkswagen Beetle or the Type 2 Deluxe. Obviously, you have to tune them to a much higher class (S1 or S2). With the upgrades, it should be easy to do 200 mph. I went for the long road leading from the Falcon Speedway down to the airport.

Although i didnt utililize it much in terms of these challenges, rewinding should work, but you have yo be able to rewind back far enough as theres a cooldown between when you resume and when you can start earning points again.

Do these all have to be done on lego island tho?

Want to add that the best place to get the Cult Car challenge "lightly modded" was not at the raceway, but down the road from the raceway to the city center. I used the Jaguar because it had the best top speed at stock, but this guy used a FE VW Bus. This guys video guides are wonderful too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CK_tcCAm-lA

Great guide, helped me a lot, thanks everyone. I really struggled with Stunt Double but found that a bump in the road at the Area 7052 speed trap allowed me to get Air and then a Near Miss fairly easily - video below:

This was done in Horizon Solo.

Thank you so much for the hint on 'the Sampler' - I was on the struggle bus with that one for a while! 1000% do that one in a Solo session and find an avatar to bump/rub against. Would recommend a quick car just in case they do pull away

For the trading paint challenge, use the Volkswagen Iron Knight. There's more room for error because you have less risk of losing your combo. Also if you are in Horizon Solo there will be a lot of other trucks. Trucks are long, which means there's a bigger time window to rub up against them. Very easy with the Iron Knight, I got it first try.

I found an unusual way to get Hold on Twice: 2 Threading the Needles in 2 minutes. I saw a video where someone rammed into NPC Mini Coopers in the Stunt Park to setup another challenge (Stuntman). If you push them off the road, the AI can get stuck. I was trying to set it up so I could pass between two stationary cars. I actually got lucky that the cars were stuck near the road, causing two pileups. Whizzing between the pileups, I instantly got 2 Threading the Needles. At least I think that's what happened. I was also using Rewind and didn't have the challenge pinned, so it was hard to tell exactly how the challenge popped. But it definitely happened by passing between stationary Mini Coopers in the Stunt Park.

By TJ Eliminator on 04 Oct 2020 22:14
The Drifter is surprisingly easy, I got it by accident myself. Just get yourself a drift tuned car (I used the Formula Drift pack Dodge Viper), find a big open area (the flower fields are ideal), and turn off traction and stability assists in the game settings. Then literally just slide around until the challenge pops.

Also for drafting, it is infinitely easier to do it in the OP B tune on Falcon Loop Circuit (top of map). They’re not necessary but you can find a blueprint event for it if you want

By thatNoseyParker on 11 Nov 2020 21:26
For ShowOff skills there’s a blueprint on the Area7052 Scramble called something like “Easy ShowOff Skills”. It was 3rd in the “All Time Great” category when I did it.

This event has the AI going in a wiggly-straight line (will make sense when you see it lol) and you can drift near them from the road for easy showoffs. Near the end most of them will crash and be stationary so you can double back and farm more on them before restarting the race:)

This is what the Internet is for, I love this.

I'd just append your solution on 'Feeling Hungry' - I used the same track but a stock Cuda and on the lowest difficulty. It's a walk in the park... almost literally. You just cruise at 60mph and you can cram 15, 16, maybe 17 skills in one race. That's why I held off from getting the tune because an upgraded car would probably make it a bit longer to complete at high speeds.

I've also remembered - because you go so hilariously slowly this way, you can stack up the 'Squeaky Clean' Ultimate Clean Racing skill very quickly using the Cuda to knock out this one too.

@xBFGOx
: nice to hear you got it now. Sorry for getting back so late, but here is my suggestions for those struggling with this skill challenge ('The Sampler' worth 30 bricks): Horizon Solo is nice, but not necessary I think, since you can get the Trading paint skill on the same car(s). A good option to do it is on the outer streets of Brickchester. I selected the Lego Speed Champions McLaren Senna, tuned it to X 999 and just looked for a road with at least two cars (one might be sufficient, but two cars will make it easier). I highly recommend to NOT try going for the skill on upcoming traffic. Always use traffic that is driving in front of you. Then you get your Trading paint skill on those two cars, make a 180 turn, and get back behind them to go for another trading paint skill. Rinse and repeat. Should be no problem to complete the skill challenge within 2 minutes. You might be able to do it with another car as well, but I recommend oing it in a fast car (S2 or X) since you can then easily turn and get back behind the cars to get the skills. Hope this helps!

You have to pay ingame credits to buy the Plymouth, but I'm not quite sure whether it's a car that is included in the game or if it was in a car pack...

To all other commenters so far that contributed their solutions: I included them in the solution, so people don't have to open the comment section :) I will try to do that also with all upcoming solutions. Please also feel free to ask for challenges that you are struggling with. I'm sure we will find a solution and post it here!

I had trouble with Burn and Turn. But I believe I found an easy method to obtain it. I used the 2018 Mustang GT Deberti Design with a tune called Turn & Burn by DjCrossFade1200. You can find it by searching his name or keyword 'burn'. I went to a straight stretch of road to attempt it. I turned off traction control and stability in the difficulty settings. I started with the burnout. Hold brake and throttle, then VERY slowly release brake until you get the Ultimate Burnout. Next drive straight ahead gaining some speed, hit the e-brake to spin the car. When it lines up with 180 degrees, hit BOTH brake and throttle until you straighten out, release the brake and drive forward. You should get an Awesome 180 at the very least. Hopefully this helps anyone like me who struggled mightily with this challenge.

THE SAMPLER!

This one, to put it lightly, ticked me off to no end. I mean, I can get a million "Trading Paint" skills any time, but this one, trying to get 10 in two minutes in LEGO Valley, really tried my patience. I just couldn't get it. I would put the controller down and walk away, come back an hour later and try again - no good. Could never get past the 7 skills mark, more often than not, I would only get two or three in the two minutes allocated. I read every suggestion here and on other pages, I watched countless video's and still couldn't get it done. I did endless laps around Brickchester - NADA! I tried Blueprinting 15 lap races at the Speedway - BUPKISS!

But today, TODAY, I finally got it! FINALLY!!!!!!!!

How? You ask?

Well, today, I scrolled to the bottom of the page and noticed the post by KinectKid333 of 16 May 2020 - try the Volvo Iron Knight. Combined that with another hint I found on another website to start by the Speedway and take the long road to the Lighthouse with more straight-aways and fewer obstructions . . . . . VOILA, got it first time, tapped the first ten vehicles I saw and the sucker popped! Happy, happy, joy, joy! Then did the last two stunt challenges I needed, ran the Finale and bingo, bango, bongo . . . . Lego Vally Done and Dusted. Thanks to all who submitted suggestions, most especially KinectKid333 - it's a winner!

To complete the "Hang On!" challenge. Hold on again” (Through the Eye of a Needle technique) you need:
1. Arrive at the stunt park on a double road.
2. Push the NPCs out of the way so that at least one stops moving (for some reason they freeze in this place)
3. Substitute the 2nd car so that there was passage for your car.

23 Jan 2021 19:55

The Palette test (Paint Exchange technique) is easier to complete with rewind enabled. It is better to start driving along the upper road, starting from the stadium with the racing track. It's a smooth ride with fewer daring antics.

NPC objects and vehicles are not returned to their original state. If you made one technique and immediately screwed up on another, then don’t rewind right away, otherwise everything you earned before rewinding will be lost.

Also, if the car was next to you before rewinding, then you need to do another rewind (2 in total). Otherwise, when you go to it again, it will be transparent and you won’t be able to do the trick.
