How to unlock the Treasure Hunter achievement in Forza Horizon 5 - Definitive Guide

To unlock this Achievement you need to find all Treasure Chests in a "Series". This is found in the Festival Playlist in your pause menu. A series consists of four seasons which all last one week each. Every season/week there are different challenges that you can complete, with a Treasure Hunt potentially being one of them.

Treasure Hunts are located in the "Challenges" category on the right side of the Festival Playlist menu and are titled "Treasure Hunt". You will have to do a challenge that once you complete it will mark an area on the map (similar to a barn find) in which you'll need to look for the Treasure Chest. Note: if you have purchased the Treasure Map DLC, the spot will be correctly marked immediately.

In Series 1 there are two Treasure Hunts the first is in Summer (11/Nov/21 - 18/Nov/21) and the second is in Spring (02/Dec/21 - 9/Dec/21) Note: exact timings may be different due to timezones. Retrieve both Treasure Chests and you unlock the achievement.

The first day this is possible to unlock is therefore December 2nd. People who have already unlocked this had early review copies to the game. In future series there may be more/less Treasure hunts per series.

I think there's some confusion on your solution. If the second chest is in spring and it goes from Dec 02 to Dec 09, the achievement will unlock in Dec 02 and not Dec 09.

Other than that, this seems the current right guide for this achievement.

I got the one and only treasure chest in the summer season but under the tracker it’s still showing 0% how do some people have it at 20%?

The achievement tracker does not increase, since for every series there may be a different amount of treasure chests to collect.

There is a 2nd treasure chests in Spring Series 1. If you get that (in addition to this summer one) the achievement will unlock.

People don't have this achievement at 20%, that is the achievement for the smashables.

I got the chest from Summer, but since Autumn started there's nothing on the map or as a challenge. Am I missing something?

Edit: I just noticed 2nd treasure hunt event is going to be in Spring. I was expecting one per season. No wonder tracker doesn't work.

Uhm. The treasure chest only appears by doing the danger sign which is attached to it. Kinda weird that nobody mentions it, since it's literally mandatory.

With the treasure map it will only appear when you've completed the challenge. However, the challenge is bugged.

You have to get 5 stars on Danger Signs with the Land Rover Defender 110 X '20. Finally got the achievement, no bugged Treasure Hunts this time!

I'm a little iffy on one of the unlocks for this already. Almost all I know are review copy players. But we have one player who started the game on the 8th of November (2 days after the Series 0 started) and unlocked this on the 14th (end of Series 0). That is not possible as there were no treasure chests in Series 0 and once Series 0 started, there was no way to go back prior to the Series. Review copy Series ended on the 5th November. So anyone starting after that date can not legitimately unlock this until another 3-4 days, and definitely not on 14th November.

For anyone playing on Windows having trouble with the chests (not) spawning after completing the challenge, if it’s an option for you, load up the game on xCloud. No chest on Windows, but found it right where it was supposed to be while streaming.

The Guide says that there are different challenges every week, and that a Treasure hunt can be one of them. But it doesn't have to be.

There is no Tracker for this achievement because if you don't get all of them in a Series, and a new Series start you are back at 0%.

#Robscout# you need to do the "Horizon Arcade Air" in Stingrays car and after that you will get the hint for the treasure location. I guess you can do only the first round to get the hint...

Treasure Chests will be part of the weekly Festival Playlists. Finding them will work similar to those in the Fortune Island DLC in FH4. As of now, only devs and testers have earned that achievement since the chests have not been part of a public Playlist yet.

In the challenges you can complete the one challenge that offers ONE treasure chest. So from the looks of it, this may take 5 seasons to complete. One per season. Assuming you get all chests from the beginning, this will be obtainable in 27 days from now.

There is no percentage to Track Shima.
For every series there may be a different amount of Treasure Chests, and if you don't complete it in a series it will reset to 0.

I don't think changing your dates will work, I tried that to see what happens and all treasure challenges disappear and are replaced with photo challenges, so they must of prevented it laugh

I used the drone from the creative tab to fly around easier.

In the Festival Playlist, you can see what's coming up in the remaining seasons and it looks like there's only 1 more treasure hunt listed, and that's in the Spring (final) season of the series. So it should unlock after getting the 2nd one

Here is a video of the location of the second chest in the series for the winter season. To unlock the hint, you must get 10 stars from PR stunts in any mustang. I just used the 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback which I believe was a barn find. Location will be to the north west of Cordillera right above the xp sign


Note: the chest does not appear unless you unlock the hint

Another season based one here, so keep an eye out for the Treasure Chest seasonal collectibles when they pop-up. Seek them out and this achievement is yours.

A hint for those who first completed all the tricks 100%, and then started completing the “Treasure Hunter” achievement. The trick is that already in the second series the bug has not been fixed, when after completing all the jumps, tricks and other things with 3 stars, treasure tests in the new seasons do not appear on the map. I tried everything, even reinstalling the game doesn’t help, and today I found a solution!
We go to the website and look for the series that we are currently going through, all the conditions for fulfillment are described there, including the conditions for the appearance of a treasure chest on the map (at the moment this is the spring of the 3rd season, where you need to get a total of 5 stars for jumping by controlling jeep LAND ROVER DEFENDER). After fulfilling the conditions, a red zone will appear on the map, where we will find the treasure.
