How to unlock the Water Performance achievement in Forza Horizon 5 - Definitive Guide
This achievement description is wrong.
You actually have 3 mins 30 secs to 3 star both trailblazers in one run. Also, you cannot fast travel between locations, you have to drive to the start location of the other trailblazer.
At first I thought this was near impossible, but once you can confidently 3 star both with ease this actually is not all too hard. Also the timer only starts after completing one of the trailblazers and using rewind does not rewind the timer, so bear that in mind.
My car: Hoonigan RS200 Evolution
Tune creator: Don Joewon Song: S2class (Should be the first one)
As stated below in the comments, the FE BMW X5 M from the welcome pack should work fine with no upgrade needed. (Thanks to @ Alyselle for pointing that out)
How I did it first time (after mastering both trailblazers) was that I pinned the accolade “water performance” (can be found in the trailblazer gates accolade section of the pause menu) I started at the La Marisma first as I thought that was the hardest, after getting 3 stars, quickly open your map and set a course for the other trailblazer, I then stayed along the coastal road eventually leading up to the trailblazer, you should have plenty of time as I had 1min 40 secs left by the time I got there. The rest should be a cake walk. Puerta pétrea isn’t a difficult trailblazer with practise.
I highly recommend practising both before attempting,
Good luck

This guide worked perfectly. I used the Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck with an offroad S1 tune. Thanks!

I did it with the Ford Bronco, far better than the 2 cars mentioned (the BMW was terrible).

If you're like me and find videos of paths help more than descriptions, Maka posted a great guide. Credit is all his, but I felt it was definitely worth sharing.
Edit: one thing worth noting that Maka gets incorrect: rewinding does not also rewind the clock neither between the two trailblazer locations, nor during the trailblazer events themselves. It does PAUSE the timer while you rewind, so it's still ok to do, but don't expect to get that time back.
The rest of his guide, especially the route he uses on the events and in between them, is spot on. Thus why I shared. :)

Maka's guide makes it as easy as eating pancakes!
Only thing I did differntly was, on the 2nd TB, after the bridge crossing it took a left over a nearly plain field.

Good News: time starts after Trailblazer one and you have 3:30min after this point, not 2min and much easyer then the trailblazer challenges in FH4 Lego
Bad News: first Trailblazer is not easy and you should not rewind after Trailblazer one
Prepare:
Trailblazers: unlock Puerta Pétrea and La Marisma Trailblazers - and try (three star) them before
Car: have a good on / offroad car - did it with untunend Hoonigan RS200
Hints:
Don't use Fast Travel in this Challenge
You can use Rewind in Trailblazer One
3:30min start after Trailblazer One
Avoid to use Rewind after Trailblazer One (not rewind 3:30 time)
Filter Map for Trailblazers
Unlock (both three star) and Activate Reward Card for Timetracking
Track:
Part 1 - La Marisma - blue
do this with more than 20sec left for 3 stars
here you can use rewind and try to avoid lake with root trees
now 3:30 timer starts - now avoid Rewind - you can use it, but your 3:30min doesn't rewind
Part 2 - freeride - yellow
open map set first waypoint and shourtcut the fields
open map, set waypoint at start Puerta Pétrea
shortcut up hills
Part 3 - Puerta Pétrea - green
easy, drvie down the hill, shortcut left behind the bridge, in canyon use offroad road until this stone
and then to finish
*plopp* Unlocked

I wrote avoid - you can use it but it will not rewind your 3:30min i also think you don't need it after Trailblazer one

So if you use rewind during the free run section or during Trailblazer 2 it will mess up your time?

So none of the above answers really make this easy for you, and Maka's guide has conflicting information.
Facts:
1. you CAN rewind during the trailblazers
2. you CANNOT rewind during the free roam driving BETWEEN the trailblazers.
3. rewinding DOES COUNT AGAINST your 3m30s timer, but this isn't really an issue.
I did this in a tuned (any S1/ 853 one will do) 2020 Ford #2069 Performance Bronco R with over 45s to spare by doing Puerta Petrea FIRST, then driving in an almost perfectly straight line from the cliff drop where the end marker is to the beginning of La Marisma. There are basically no trees to dodge, and it's just across flat fields until the start of La Marisma. It takes a LOT less skill to do it this way, as the cross country driving isn't nearly as challenging.

This can be a pain, but don't worry you can rewind as much as you need and it won't affect your time. You need to get to the first one with 20 seconds left on the clock and the second one with 25 seconds left. Use this video for directions, good luck!
Don't panic, you got this.
first you need to practice the last trailblazer, make sure the route.
after that you are good to go, just don't panic when you hit tree, keep driving or rewind if necessary

Okay, so this is another one that is incredibly confusing when it comes to the actual descriptions and the achievement itself. The truth is you can ignore the whole "2 minute" aspect, and instead, what you should do is head to the "Water Performance" challenge in the Accolades menu and pin the corresponding task. What becomes quickly apparent is that the achievement and the challenge have two different descriptions. What you actually need to do to unlock this achievement is to 3-star both the Puerta Petrea and La Marisma Trailblazer events within 3-minutes and 30-seconds.
So, what does that mean and how do you do it? Well, first things first, get your car, upgrade it to a X (999), again we used the Lambo Sesto Elemento Forza Edition (2011) and the first thing you're going to want to do is complete the La Marisma Trailblazer and get 3-stars (it's in the bottom right of the map, just left of where it says Pantano De La Selva). In the Lambo, it's fairly easy, just try to avoid the water as it kills your speed. And you can use rewind to your heart's content to get through the jungle. Only when you get that 3-star time does the timer on the left (the 3m30s) actually start. That means you have 3m30s to get to the next Trailblazer and 3-star it. Few things to note: DO NOT fast travel, it resets the progress, you have to drive there, so set a pin and race up the coast (the Puerta Petrea is in the top right, just to the left of the Hotel Mirador Balderrama and The Eliminator logo). Another point of note: you can use rewind, sure, but the timer carries on while you're rewinding time, so be wary of that.
As for the Puerta Petrea Trailblazer itself, it's not too bad actually. Basically: fly off the cliff, follow the road up to where the road to The Elminator is, and follow that road around the corner to the right, until you can see the green smoke, only then do you need to go off-road. Good luck!

Inaccurate description, not within 2 minutes! The 3.5 minute countdown starts immediately after the completion of the first route, during which time you need to complete the second.
