This achievement is story-related and cannot be missed.
You should unlock this achievement after you complete the first single player race, 'Horizon Heats'. You don't even have to win the race, but even on hard, it shouldn't be too difficult. Winning the race will net you the 'First!' achievement, and completing it on hard will also get you the 'Hard Driving' achievement.

After you arrive at the Horizon Festival, you will be able to play your first race, just complete and finish in any position that the achievement will unlock.
DEG23, Jappe, x360a, Corrupt
After you have arrived at the Horizon Festival, you will be given access to the first heat race. Simply complete the race in any position and the achievement will unlock.
