How to unlock the Hard Driving achievement in Forza Horizon - Definitive Guide
I found the easiest way to do this is do the 1st Showcase Race (Mustang vs Mustang). The showcase event only has You, and the Plane. It should be easier because you only have one opponent to take care of while in other races, you have 7. If you already did this showcase race, you can go to the location where Mustang vs Mustang was and replay the showcase. I hope this helped

Can i re-drive the event after i finished it ...?

Im not 100% on this but I believe you should if you drive back to the place where the event was held. If you weren't able to redo the event, then you would not beable to get the 1st place on all showcase events achievement.

I was able to get this achievement by doing the HORIZON High Noon Balloon challenge. You are racing against a hot air balloon and even with a couple of screw ups I was able to beat the balloon with plenty of time.

I don't know how this solution gets so little recognition, while the one that suggests that ridiculous plane challenge gets over 100+. Thanks for this solution. +1

It was a close one but it works :)

For this achievements the AI Difficulty needs to be set "Hard". Assists settings have no effect on the achievement.
This is easiest to do on the very first race (Horizon Heats). If you've done the Heats event, then your best bet is the yellow wristband events. I personally find the "G-SHOCK Super Sprint" the easiest of the 3.

I did this in the one on one rival event against Baran, it's a fairly straight race on the highway.
I used the F40, he crashed a couple of times which allowed me to get past him, and hold on for the win

I actually found that the Star Showdown with Marko (after you get the orange bracelet) was an easy way to get this achievement. It's all fairly straight highway driving except the very end, so all you really need to do is avoid traffic and blow by him. I raced a stock Nissan GT-R Black Edition against him and had no problems, nailed it first try.
This can be done on any race but will require you to set the overall difficulty to HARD. Even if you aren’t the greatest at driving games, this isn’t all that difficult as it still enables many of the driver assists including the rewind feature, so don’t be afraid to rewind if you make mistakes along the way. Once you win the race the achievement will unlock.
