How to unlock the May The Forza Be With You achievement in Forza Horizon - Definitive Guide

UPDATE: With this game being backwards compatible now some people have tried this method on xb1 with no luck. So far this solution is only for 360.

For those who didn't play Forza 3 or 4 and don't want to start them.

Steps:
1. Go to your local Gamestop/Blockbuster and buy/rent the game. Or borrow it from your buddy.
2. Disconnect your xbox from the internet.
3. Play Forza 3 or 4 to lvl 1 or whichever level you want for the gift car. I played till I was lvl 1.
4. Delete your gamertag profile, just the profile nothing else.
5. Connect to the internet and recover your account. You now have a forza game save with no achievements.
6. Play Forza Horizon till you get the yellow wristband.*
7. Once you pickup the wristband and buy a car for the next event, you should get a notification about loyalty cars. Head to your garage accept the cars and your achievement should pop.
8. Return the game.

You can look at my account and see that I have no forza 3 or 4 achievements.

*If you already passed this point. You need to start another save file in the cloud. Make sure you also move your forza save file there.

Hope this helps.
Thanks to iCelviN Px and Fighting Doofus for the idea.

As noted in step six, if you have already obtained the yellow wristband you have to start another save. Since I was well into the game I had to start a save on the cloud. Doesn't take long, did it in about 30 minutes. From getting to level 1 in forza 3 to the yellow wristband.

What's up with the negative vote?

Thanks for your Solution.

I just moved the Forza3 Save into the Cloud and started a new Horizon Save in the Cloud. As soon as i got my yellow wristband i got a message about the loyalty cars. I went to the garage and choosed "Change Car" and then i had to accept the message and got my achievement.

It took me around a full hour from starting a new Forza3-Game to getting my Horizon-Achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=39...
#11 and #38, i have done it 26/10/2012 on another gamertag..
Don't worry, i haven't any copyright on it.. I was only saying that in x360a i gave the idea, maybe here you come to the same conclusion without me..
But if the gamers, that gave it to you, have readed it from x360a that idea is mine..

I have Forza Horizon but haven't started it yet. I take it that Forza 2 doesn't count which is stupid. That's the only one I have on my card and it took me forever to complete it. Really don't wanna do 3 or 4. I'm worried about popping a cheevo while getting to LVL 1 in Forza 3. I know there are some really easy ones that could pop without you even trying. Did you just do one race to get to lvl 1? Do I even have to do a race? Could I just make a save and then be done with it?

You have to get to level 1 and you will pop 3 or 4 achievements getting there. Just follow my guide and you'll get it with no achievements for that game.

So by delete profile, I take it you mean your profile (gamertag) saved on your hard drive? So once I hit lvl 1 in Forza 3, I go back to dashboard and find my profile on my hard drive and delete it. Just wondering if you mean profile as in my gamertag or the Forza 3 profile.

I'm just a little worried about deleting my profile. I take it, when you recover it, it will be saved back onto your hard drive or storage device?

Yes, your gamertag profile. I'll edit it to be more specific.
Yes, it'll be saved back to your device. It's just like when going to a friends house and you recover your gt. Your profile is stored server side and gets refreshed constantly while online.

everything works fine, except moving my fm3 save to cloud it will say : there was a problem performing that action.

So i just kept continue but it wont pop my loyalty car message probably because i cant move the file correctly.
Someone knows how to fix this??

I've heard you can do the same thing with a dummy profile - as long as it's save file is on the same device your main profile saves on it will still work. No deleteing or retrieving needed.

Don't think so. It looks at your saves, not everyone. If anyone want's to actually prove or disprove it, just load up the game on another profile.

Ok so, I started forza 4 on a friends console . I had him log on using my account and move the saves to cloud. I then retrieved them and moved them to my USB where I have started another horizon game. I have saved (copied) it just before getting the yellow wristband so I can retry without wasting time. It's not working ...? Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

You can't just use another person's save file. It looks for a save file with your gamertag.

DONT USE F3!

on my first race in Forza 3 I unlocked 2 achievements. I think Forza 4 may be the best option.

I now have to grind through F3 and get all them now :(

Flip side, I can get the loyalty cheiv in F4 ;)

Please don't skip any steps in this guide.
You now have a forza game save with no achievement

By SoH Anarchy on 29 Dec 2013 03:13
Of course, that makes sense. Since you're offline, the Gamertag with the achievements can't register and save online, and when you delete the profile from the hard drive, it deletes the achievements that aren't registered to the account yet.

Gotcha, smart

I believe this is the most confusing part, *If you already passed this point. You need to start another save file in the cloud. Make sure you also move your forza save file there.

Make sure you're making that other save file.

Yes, I did save both forza files to the cloud. Well, I first started forza 3 while disconnected and then finished the first race and it was saved to the cloud. I then did the next steps and got the wristband, while using the cloud to store my data and still no achievement.

Just to make sure, you're playing until you reach level 1 on forza correct? I don't think that first race will get you there. IIRC I played about 3 races.

0
By SoH Anarchy on 24 Apr 2014 17:07
Maybe that's the problem. I just completed the first race that they put you in and then left the game assuming that I was level one after the first race.

Just a suggestion. After some thorough reading it seems as if assuming I read it correctly that if your beyond the yellow wrist and that you HAVE to get it by saving the new horizon save via the cloud. I'm doing that right now to knock this out. Assuming I read it right I would put emphasis on the fact that no other way will work to unlock this achievement

@ Claptrap NL: But you have amazon in The Netherlands don't you? Just buy a new version of the game from amazon DIRECTLY (not from a third-party seller). Then you should be able to give it back for 4 weeks even if it is used by you. Just tell them that it is not working properly or even that you don't like it (yes, you can even choose this as a reason to give it back). Amazon takes it back without asking anymore questions and you still get a full refund. I did this with a PS3 copy of Fifa 15 after obtaining the platinum in like 2 weeks.

I have tried 4 times to get this to work with Xbox one and it doesnt work. I purposely deleted my Horizon Save (local and Cloud) started a FM3 game and got to level 1 and saved this on the cloud. Went back to Forza Horizon and started a new game but no achievement. I am convinced this wont work on Xbox One so i am installing the game on my 360 and attempting it on there. If this doesnt work then the whole lot is getting chucked out the window.

make sure that your forza 3 save game is in the cloud and in sync, otherwise it will fail.
i moved my forza 3 save from my old xbox 360 elite to the cloud and played horizon on my newer xbox 360E but it did not unlock at first. i had to move the f3 save game from cloud to hdd and back to have it in sync (it wasnt downloaded automatically). then i restarted horizon from scratch and it worked!

I;m playing on Xbox One and currently there's no way to get the achievement for XB1 players. My concern is that in order to get it (Even if FM3 and/or FM4 becomes backward compatible) you need to start over. There's no way of doing it on XB1 without erasing your progress, since you cannot start a new game on USB stick.

By mindkiller76 on 08 Sep 2016 08:50
Yup, I played F3 back when I had my x360 and now that FH is free I tried to complete it but its not unlocking so there is definitely something that is not compatible between the X360 and Xbox One.

I think it is the way the X360 is emulated. Its like a Virtual Machine and it cant connect to game files that were saved on the cloud using the X360. I just noticed the same thing with Bayonetta, I finished the game but I couldn't get my files from the cloud and had to start all over again.

So there is definitely an issue between the X360 and Xbox One cloud saved files.

I have Forza Motorsport 4 almost completed (825G/1000G, 42ach/49ach). Today I started Forza Horizon, obtained 19 achievements, I got the Pink wristband, but no message about the loyalty cars. Both games I played on X360, both games have savegames in the cloud. What am I doing wrong?
Almost all the time today I was having a message, that Horizon servers couldn't be connected. Maybe this is the reason?

Wow....I can't believe the Xbox 360 gives you no warning before you delete all your save files!!!!

When I went to delete my profile, the option didn't pop up at first, so I hit A again, just in time for it to pop up and select the option to delete my profile, plus all items.

So all my saves are gone.....

Oh thank god I was wrong! Seems my saves are still there, phew! Either I turned my console off in time, or that option doesn't delete save files. I see my background theme is back to default though. So I guess it deleted things like gamerpics and such that were linked to my GT? I can live with that stuff. I seriously thought I lost everything there.

Since before I accidentally hit the A button, I saw it said it would delete savefiles and all achievements.

I almost had a heart attack, the thought of be able to lose an account I've had for over 12 years, in a single button press with no warnings.

Looked on Google, and it seems I turned off my console in time, that option is supposed to delete save games. Luckily I always backup my saves, but I would have lost some saves I can't make backups of. I can't believe there's no warnings before you select that.

August 2020 and it won’t work for me. I have followed every step and everything was as described but it doesn’t pop. One thing I have noticed is that although I started a new Horizon game in the cloud some of my messages are there and also my speed trap PB’s not sure how that’s happened. I also have a load of Fm 3 save games on my 360 but from an old profile. Any ideas?

By Rigpig1919 on 20 Aug 2020 07:49
Update to the above, the achievement is still possible. I popped it with my old profile. So my old profile has a 9 year old Motorsport 3 save game but has never seen Horizon, starting Horizon to yellow wristband and it popped. My main profile has a nearly complete Horizon and a new Motorsport 3 save with no achievements. So I’m obviously doing something wrong. Just need to figure out what!

I had been playing Horizon 1 using my XB1 & then Series X using back compatibility on a disc. This was the last achievement that I needed so I turned to my 360 to earn it. I cleared off all the Forza Horizon stuff off my 360 but the cloud sync messed things up. Despite telling the system that I wanted to just play with the 360's version of the cloud save (which was older), it got corrupted and messed up my profile on the 360. No matter what I did (cleared cache, deleted profile, removed all Forza Horizon assets, etc), it kept telling me that my profile had been "tampered with" and it booted me back to the home menu. What fixed it for me was going to my Series X, clearing the cloud save there (using the Series X menu, not the 360 emulated menu) and starting a fresh game save. Then I was able to reload that save on the 360. Once I did that, then I could move that synced cloud save to the 360's HD, and start a fresh cloud save on my 360 (where my Forza Motors 3 save was). Hopefully, those of you who still need this won't encounter the problems I did, and in case you have something similar happen, that my troubleshooting helps you get past it.

I unlocked this achievement yesterday, thank you so much for the guide. just a note, i didn't pass the saves to the cloud, both were on external storage and the achievement unlocked. Sometimes the achievement takes a while to hit, so don't forget: the servers are unpredictable, the loyalty message may take a while to appear, it took about 5 minutes for me after I got the yellow bracelet.

How do we move FH3/4 game saves to the cloud? In my games & apps, it won't let you move the saved games.

Is Forza MOTORSPORT 3 and 4 the only ones that will work for this?

To obtain this achievement you will need an FM3 or FM4 save game. Once you obtain your Yellow Wristband you will be prompted to go to the garage. Once you arrive you will recieve your cars and achievement.

If you start an FM3 or FM4 game after you start Horizon you will need to start a new Horizon career by selecting a different storage device on the Press Start screen (e.g. The Cloud). Once you've done that, play through until the Yellow Wristband again.

UPDATE: 17th Dec 2012
In the latest Title Update the bug where this doesn't unlock has been fixed. SImply go to Dak's Garage and Change car and the achievement and loyalty cars are yours

Is there a way to get this achievement without getting any achievement in F3 or F4? For instance, starting F3, creating a savefile then going back to dashboard?

Is this achievement linked to the Forza Horizon servers? I'm level 50 in Forza 3 and at level 100 in Forza 4 but haven't been told to go to the garage to get the loyalty bonus and I'm up to the blue wristband events.

You must be at least level 10 on FM3 or FM4, start a new game on FHor, get the yellow wristband, go to the garage and it will detect previous saved games then you will receive your cars and achievement..
P.S. you must have the save file of FM3 or FM4..

I solved my issue by starting a new save on the cloud (and temporarily moving my FM3 and FM4 saves to the cloud as well). It still sucks though that you have to play like half an hour before the only checkpoint comes up.

So you need at least a level 1 FM3 or FM 4 save with your own GamerTag attached to it, play through the game untill you receive the yellow wristband. After that you're supposed to see a notification telling you older saves have been detected (didn't get that the first time oddly enough) and then you'll go to the garage and get your rewards.

I think missed the little message box that pops up when you are in the garage asking if you want the selection of cars from Forza 4. As a result of this I missed the achievement because Horizon does not offer the cars a second time. I think it is really important to go to the garage as soon as you have your yellow wrist band and then pay attention to the prompts. Until I read some of the comments, I thought the achievement just somehow popped up. The achievement is specifically about receiving the loyalty cars, and not whether you have previous versions of Forza (althought it obviouly follows)

I started a second save on the "cloud" to actually get the achievement. The trouble with that is that it leaves the loyalty cars that I received stranded in the cloud. They can't be gifted, so it looks like I have no way to incorporate them in my main save file.

Good addition, Runner7922. I considered making my cloud save the main save, but I didn't want to do it all over again so the loyalty cars are basically. Good thing I got the achievement though.

I tool did not get this cheevo when I got the yellow wrist band originally and went to the garage.
Now I'm not sure what did the trick or not.. But I moved both my Forza 3 & 4 game saves from the USB stick to the cloud storage then reloaded up the game selected the USB stick to load from (as my horizon save was made there originally ) then went back to the workshop garage and select 'change car' and soon as it went to the car select screen I got the MSG would you like to receive ur loyalty cars. Clicked on yes and the achievement popped. I'm so glad I didn't need to start another new game again :)
Has anyone just tried going back to the workshop garage and selecting change car to see if it will work? I'm not sure if that will do the trick or that I moved both save files???

I have a save for FM3 on the cloud, after reaching level 1. I also made sure to start my FHor game on the cloud, per everything I've read about this achievement. I cannot for the life of me get the damn loyalty message to pop after receiving my yellow wristband. I've restarted this game three times now, deleting everything, and I can't get the message to show. This is stupid and frustrating.

Simple and straight to the point. I had to create a new save on my 360 through the console hard drive since I played through it on Xbox one. Luckily I had a save file from FM3. I unlocked it as soon as I got the yellow wristband and went back to the garage.

Before playing Horizon, I used the Forza 3 trick to gain a save on my HDD without having to commit to the game. The first time through Horizon, suprise suprise, the achievement didn't unlock despite having the Forza 3 save. I now have all the achievements bar this one. I've done exactly what you have done in the video 4 times with no luck. Any suggestions?

What worked for me was, I have an removable storage device, loaded up FM 3 and played through the 1st season (using the removable storage device for my FM 3 save location). Popped in Forza Horizon (again, using the removable device for the Horizon save game) qualified, got my yellow wristband, did the first Showcase event, bought the car for the 1st Festival event, got in it then the notification came up at the bottom of the screen about the Loyalty Cars, Went to the garage, when asked if I accepted them... hit yes... and POP goes the Achievement.

Another potential fix for the glitch that worked for me...

It didn't pop as soon as I went into the garage. I had to change cars. When m list of available garage cars came up Horizon saw my saves and the chieve popped.

Hope this helps you guys,

Hi,

I got this a while after I got my yellow wristband. Actually I had my green wristband!

What I think what did the trick was, that I never entered the garage when I was asked to do (But I'm not 100% sure of this).

When I learned of this achievement I moved my Forza 4 savegame to the same place where the Horizon savegame was.

In game I eventually went to a garage and there it popped up.

This probably won't work for everyone I just think this might be helpful for someone before you move around and create new savegames.

Just used SSCP's video guide and worked on first try. It may not seem clear to some but you must move your Forza 3 save to the cloud as well as start a new horizon save on the cloud.

Hi,
Another "tip" I played fh until it sent me to collect the yellow wristband (my copy of fm3 hadnt arrived yet) and saved then quit before driving to collect. thinking I would be able to jump back in where I left off after getting my fm3 gamesave - nope.

In short I had to start a new game save for fh to get the achievement to unlock. Not wanting to loose my fh stats for my 1st I just transferred my fm3 save to an external hdd and started my new fh save there. (Obviously obtained using previously mentioned offline method).

Hopefully this will help someone and not have them waiting for fm3 (or 4) to arrive and thus not continue to play fh thinking it would work smoothly like me.

Just gonna throw in two things I had to do to get this achievement since the servers have been delisting...

1. The first thing is to not only have the FM3 or FM4 save on the same HD, but make sure you reach level 1 in that game save. I tried to get this achievement with a game save that was not yet level 1 and it did not pop. So I played FM4 til I was a level 1(3 races) and tried this again and it popped.

2. Not 100% on this one but it's either this or the one above that popped the achievement for me. When I tried to get this achievement on my first try with the FM4 game save that was not a level 1 yet, I did NOT hit any of the 100 pink signs that you have to hit for that sign achievement. So that lady guiding me through the entire beginning of the game didn't yet talk about it. I'm adding this because on my 2nd try I made sure to hit a few of those signs to see if it made a difference. She then talked about how to get all the signs. Then when I got the yellow wristband and was sent to the next location, the loyalty cars were then available at daks garage. Achievement popped. I do think it"s because of the game save being a level 1 but this 2nd thing is just worth noting that it may contribute to getting this achievement.

I just got this achievement on Xbox One ... what I did was the following ... I played FM3 until I got Level 1 driver ... then you must move your game to the cloud ... by default it is not there. ... after this start FH ... delete my previous game of the cloud ... to start from 0 ... I played the game until I got the yellow wristband ... 2 races ... you buy the new car .. .and just after I left the message of the cars by fidelity jumped ... just go to the garage to pick them up and pop my achievement ...

If you're trying to get this on a cloud save, you need to make sure your FM3 and FM4 game saves say 'In Sync' when you start Horizon.

No credit taken, I would just like to share my experience as I did have a little trouble with this. I actually combined both SoH Anarchy & SSPc's methods in order to pop this.

Refer to both guides and include these steps where applicable.

Firstly, I deleted all saves on both storage devices (HDD & Cloud) for Forza Horizon & FM3. So delete 'ghosts & any saved games. You will need to start a new game on both. Then proceed with step 2.

Rather than get to level 1 on FM3 or 4. Get to level 2 instead.

Once you've got to level 2, return to dashboard then delete profile as step 4 above mentions.

Once profile recovered, move both 'ghosts & saved game' of FM3 or 4 to the Cloud. End of step 5.

Finally, when the game prompts you to choose a device, choose Cloud!

From here, continue with the steps above as normal. This may not be solid proof but it worked after 3 attempts without doing this above.

I have been on 1490 points for 5 years. Not anymore!

Let me know if it works for you please.

This will require either a FM3 or FM4 save file located on either your hard drive or the cloud. You need to have reached at least level 1 in either game for the achievement to unlock.

After you have completed the heat events and received your yellow wristband, you will be receive a popup message notifying you that you have ‘loyalty cars available.’ Go to the garage and select ‘Change Car,’ accept the gift cars and the achievement will unlock. Be sure to accept the gift cars, if you select ‘No Thanks’ you will not receive the cars or the achievement.

If you have started Horizon before creating a FM3 or FM4 save file you can always start a new Horizon career from a new storage device (eg, the cloud) and repeat the steps above.

(DEG23 credits NeedToAchieve for the video guide showing how to unlock this after you have already started a Forza Horizon game)
