Time Trials are an almost hidden area of this game. In order to access them you need to go to the leaderboards from the home menu and select time trial. Then select the leaderboard/race that you want. Pressing 'A' again will start you in the race for that leaderboard.
Simple enough but a little hard to see at first. You need to complete at least one whole lap, without using the rewind feature, for the achievement to unlock.
It should also be noted that you will need to be online in order to see the leaderboards, but as I virtually never play offline I wasn't aware of this.

I can only presume it is so that only people who are looking for it will find it, rather than just everyone contributing to the statistics, making it a little bit more of a hardcore leaderboard? just a thought.

One thing to note is you can't use the rewind function during the lap for it to count. This might be why you would run into a problem getting it to pop.

Just wanted to know if this is still obtainable? I tried it the other day and it kept coming up and saying something about 'being unavailable at this time'. Like the servers had been shut down. It wouldn't even start the Time Trial.

It worked this time round. Last time it came up saying, "this time trial is unavailable" but it finally loaded one, did 2 laps and 'PING'......achievement. Thanks for the guide, would of took me a while to find the option without it. THUMBS UP.

This achievement require play in game modes that do not require a connection to any live services, such as Xbox Live.
Offline game modes do not require an active internet connection, such as single player campaigns or challenges, local co-op, and system link.
How to UNLOCK this achievement WITHOUT Xbox LIVE!?
Just popped this today and if you accidentally hit rewind but cancel it you will still get the achievement. Thanks a bunch!
