How to unlock the Factory Driver achievement in Forza Motorsport 4 - Definitive Guide

The best way to earn money and affinity is the same as TP x NeOnZz´s way, but on a different track. On Testrack layout A you can cut the corners (like you can see in the video below). You can do a map in like 20 seconds x 50 = 1000 seconds = 16 min 40 sec. Also difficulty can be adjusted for more money and affinity, so make sure you don't turn on anything unnecessary (Like the race-line or automatic transmission).
Note: the video is taken from Forza motorsport 3, but the track is exactly the same as in forza 4.
Edit: you need to download the launch track pack first to select the testrack maps. I got a code for this trackpack within the copy of the game, but you can download it on xblm as well.
Edit: Go to assists and put driving on normal or simulation. If you put driving on assisted you will be driving against invisible walls.

to get this map you need the 'Launch Track Pack' code, which i got with the limited edition. But I'm pretty sure you can purchase it on the Markeplace.

No invisible wall, for me. This works. I get 50k every 26 minutes (27 second laps) with R3 class Ford GT.

Figured out what causes the invisible wall.. In difficulty if you're steering is set to assisted you will be pushed onto the track. You MUST change steering to normal for this to work.

Great solution with one exception u can't pick the Porsche in forza 4 because their is none. Only the 2 Rufs. I used the top audi prototype and got it done in 18 mins. And corndawg I got level 50 with 1,394,450 xp.

hi guys.
When I go to the event list and use "hire driver" the screen credits appears at the end of each race, but not the XP as is normal.
But somtimes appears "new level reached affinity" when i simulate the race.
why? affinity also earned simulating the races?

By EDOARDO1 on 26 Oct 2011 23:04
It's likely because you still get the BONUS credits / xp even when using a hire driver. For example when a race says + 5,000XP bonus.

However, if the race gives a percentage bonus you'll still receive 0 XP, because 50% of nothing is still nothing.

Hope this helps

I get 50.000 per race as well. DIFFICULTY DOESN'T AFFECT AFFINITY! Tried with manual and automatic gearbox, also with normal and simulated steering, and ABS on/off. Always the same 50.000 exp.
Difficulty affects only credits!

Something to note and maybe make people a little happy is the fact after lvl 22 or 23 affinity it only takes 50K affinity to lvl it , thus after lvl 22 or 23 (dont recall) you will only have to do this 27-28 more times. :)

It so hard to lvl affinity for awhile, was nice to see the change at lvl 22/23 !!

your method might be good but your presintation for a guide SUCKS, you through up a wall of text without breaking it down for the people that don't want a'lot of hassle and even if you post and point out the vid is from 3 but works you dont give any detail on where to find the track or even what the race type to use, your really need to rethink this guide, hit the edit button and do some work on this post/guide

Though the guide is not friendly but it's really the fastest way, i play through the bucket list until car manufacturer level to 47, then using the above guideline which make me reach level 50 within an hour. Remember to use private online match instead of freeplay!

The actual amount of affinity xp that's needed for the achievement is 2,642,500 (strange number)

I would recomend doing this in the eventlist so you don't need to do extra races
with some special settings and the #9 Peugeot 908,
under Assists/Difficulty choose:
Class Restriction: Open (this will allow you to enter races with R1 car instead of the original F,E,D,C,B,A,R3,R2
Yes this will give you -25% bonus but just turn off some assists and you are on plus bonus again.

Also, doing the world championchips with a R1 car won't hurt
(you can enter all of them with the R1 car with class restriction to open) :D

Hope this helped and comment before giving a negative vote if you think I'm wrong :)

Not got there yet, but it does make more sense simply playing through all events in event list using the same manufacturer to help towards the bucket list cheev at the same time. I've found the games AI fairly easy so far compared to forza 3 or F1 so it's a question of does it save any play time overall flying round low class events in an R1 or getting more credits using the correct class of car going a bit slower?
0
0
By Minchy Munchkin on 31 Oct 2011 18:17
Yes the AI is a little bit to easy (even at professional difficulty)
Yes it will save time since you complete the races with a faster car than the other classes for example F,
you will often lap the other cars 1-2 times per race so its definitively faster if you use a R1-class car in a F-class race you used F-class car for a F-class race, and since the opponents are slower you can turn off most off the options in the difficulty menu, and therefor get more bonus credits. And don't forget that you get a bonus for each level you gain in both Driver and Affinity that will get you rich in notime :D

Yes, but isn't beating a level just...beating a level? It doesn't matter which class you're racing against; it doesn't change the lap, or the time of the lap. It just means that you are beating cars that aren't in your class.

Not criticizing you at all. Just making a point.

I'll try this method tonight for sure. Thanks for the post! If it works, I'll give you a thumbs up and all that jazz.

By Ham Sanwitch on 02 Nov 2011 17:47
You will drive faster in the R1-car than the opponents that have lower classes, which results in faster laptimes, so yes it will go faster. So yes you beat cars that isn't your class but it still counts as a victory. :D

I'm working thru the event list with a single manufacturer in as many races as possible.

Which manufacturer is the best?

I choose Ford (level 20ish) for the range of class (F to R3) then realized that the big points are in R1.

I'm working on Audi (D or C class to R1) with the Le Mans car then I saw that Ferrari have a D to R1 range.

Now I'm thinking Ferrari would've been the best choice for this cheevo.

If you need to farm this I have found the best way is to race in the Indy Oval, Affinity is based on miles driven so the Oval will give you the most Affinity for the time raced.

Figured out something new. I'm going through the achievement right now, so I don't have it at the time of writing, but I know it's working. I went with Peugeot like this guide suggested and I noticed that sometimes during the World Tour or during the event list I was leveling up in either Driver or Affinity while using a hired driver. I did some more testing on this and can confirm that you can get affinity with a hired driver ONLY if the affinity bonus is RANDOM. For whatever reason, a fixed percentage or amount of affinity will not be given to you.

I went with the lower right event in the first chunk of events in the list, since that's a strictly R1 Peugeot event, and repeated the last race (it gives the most) yesterday, and went from 1,500,000Exp to 1,900,000Exp while I did my college work and messed around on other things. I'm really glad I don't have to actually race anymore.

all the other solutions are great, but if you want to kill 2 birds with one stone i would suggest the following.
1. go to bucket list, far right column (world championships)
2. click on start button.
braking abs off
steering simulation
stability on
traction on
shifting auto, unless you like the manual
suggested line off
damage, fuel limited
rewind on
opponent professional
upgrades upgraded
class rest. open
this will give you +70% earning for cash
3.pick whatever make of car you are trying for
4. race each event. remember each race for each event has 2 heats so it will take awhile. but that is whats great about it.
for all 10 events you get
F: 125,900
E: 135,800
D: 144,000
C: 157,000
B: 197,000
A: 204,000
S: 209,000
R3: 221,000
R2: 236,000
R1:242,000
total : 1,871,700 xp, but its 2 heats so 3,743,400 xp. you only need 2,642,500 xp to reach level 50. not only will you get the level 50 but will be working on your bucket list as well. be forewarned it does take awhile to do them all thou

Can confirm that you still get XP with hired drivers. Today I did a race with a hired driver on the bucket list to work through it while playing on the one and got from driver lvl 42 to 43. Id say that you get XP, but they won't be displays with a hired driver as when you drive yourself.

For those of you that are still chasing this one. This can be done using hired drivers...BUT...it'll only work with certain bonuses:

• Affinity Bonus + ?? XP or
• Affinity Bonus Random

I tried the + % affinity but these or any of the others don't count with hired drivers. I was going for Nissan as I had Lvl 17 already, the best races I found was either the Nissan A-Class Track Day, or the Nissan 90's Showcase.

• In the end I settled on the Nissan 90's Showcase
• Some of the races gave 0 Affinity but when it did, it gave 4.5 to 5K.
• Total loop, including menu work was around 5 mins (302 secs)
• Loop for Maple Valley on Track day came in at around 360 secs, so not as efficient
• Ran 2 2hr tests and in the end results averaged out to about 41,750 affinity per hour

Doing this manually is still a pain (depending where you start, it will take up to 63 hours), but if you have some hardware that can capture and replay controller inputs then you'll get this while you sleep. I don't think I can mention gear in the comments but if you're interested PM me.

If you only go for affinity points (that's what this achievement is about right :-)) and are too stingy to buy a dlc, you can do the following:

- select Peugeot R1 998
- go to eventlist
- press start and adjust restriction to 'open'. As Mr Razero mentions, this cost you -25%, but bonusses are NOT taken into account for affinity points!( You might choose professional opponents so you won't have to pass them twice)
- choose 'multi-class-event E class' (5th block 2nd row 2nd column), it will get you +100% affinity.
- Choose Bernese Alps clubcircuit (1st race) for 17.400 affinity points in 4:40 (62 per sec) or the easier Road Atlanta (3rd race) for 15.000 affinity points in about 4:20 (58 per sec).

It's still a lot of boring racing (12 hrs) but it seems faster then 50k in 16:40 (50 per sec) :-)

27 Dec 2011 22:14

An easy (but boring) way to do this is to go
Community - Race online - Create match - Settings

Sedona speedway
12 Players
11 AI
Professional
R1
50 Laps

And give your self the Peugeot with 998 rating and the bots the Chevey with the 910 rating

You should come 1st by a lonbg shot and every race is 22ish mins long and nets you about 55,000 XP for both Driver level and affinity

Xx Corndawg xX has told me it is just over 2.5 Million XP

WLG Shepard's Solution looks faster if you have the lauch track pack (i dont as its my brothers game but its downloadable from XBLM) use the Test Track Layout A (For more info watch his vid, im not going to repost the vid as it would be pointless)

I can guarantee you that this will be one of your last achievements, as this is rumored to take absolutely forever. Even Turn 10 stated that their goal was to have less that 1 percent of people attain this in under a 24 month period. I for one don't think that it will take that long. Just stick to races that net you bonus Affinity points, and of course, try to stick to only a few of the manufacturers. Stay loyal!
