How to unlock the Forza Faithful achievement in Forza Motorsport 4 - Definitive Guide

The easy way to get this achievement for people who already started Forza 4 without a Forza 3 save to import is to make a Layer Group in the Forza 3 editor and then when you go to load group in Forza 4 you will be given an option to Import your layer groups from Forza 3.

Step 1: Miss the achievement at the beginning of Forza 4 by not having a Forza 3 save.
Step 2: Create and save a vinyl group in Forza 3.
Step 3: Import vinyl group from Forza 3 in Forza 4.
Step 4: Profit.

Is there ANY way to get this achievement without getting any achievements in F3? I haven't played F3, but I don't want to start it up, accidentally get one achievement, and not be able to erase it from my file. (I don't want any blemishes on GS is what it boils down to).

I don't think so. It makes you race one race before you do anything and I think it gives you at least one achievement for doing so (and I think I got like 4).

That's complete bullshit... so, I bought my XBOX after Forza 4 came out and I have to actually BUY an old game if I want to be able to get 100% completion on a game that I already bought????

I feel your pain Luftharn. It is tedious trust me but I started playing Forza 3 in anticipation of getting 4 soon. It's a very beautiful game and worth the time.

You CAN do this without blemishing your gamercard with Forza 3...
1. Disconnect from LIVE,
2. play Forza3,
3. create a vinyl group,
4. transfer vinyl group to memory stick,
5. delete your profile from your Xbox (Profile ONLY, not including items),
6. connect to LIVE
7. recover profile from cloud,
8. go to Forza 4,
9. select import vinyl group,
10. import from Forza 3 on memory stick.

Can I get this with a different gamer tag and get ach on my actual gt?

@Chameleon1977: Forza 3 makes you do a race when starting from the beginning (how kind!). Completing this race unlocks an achievement, and I believe there's no way around this..

If you do EXACTLY as I suggest, you will unlock the achievement offline and then delete your profile before going back online, hence no record of getting the achievement. Once you recover your profile from the cloud, you will no longer have the achievement, but will still have the vinyl group to import. It's how I did this - you'll notice I have this achievement but without my gamercard showing me as having played F3. It's not fun, but it does work.

Ah, thanks for the clarification - shall give it a try now. I've already finished Forza 3 on my old profile, and didn't really want to have to go through it for a second time for the sake of this one achievement.. :)

I skipped step 4, and it still worked perfectly.. This should be added to the solution, in my opinion! Thanks.

Glad it helped - if the author doesn't add it, maybe I'll get around to writing it up as my own solution shortly.

This solution is specifically for those who haven't played, and have no intention of playing, Forza3.

As you may be aware, in order to get a Forza3 savefile to import into Forza4 you need to play the first race in Forza3, which will automatically pop an achievement. For those who do not wish to 'blemish' their gamercard with Forza3 (ruining completion percentage, for example) it can be a headache, but there is a way around it that involves racing offline.

So... for a step-by-step guide:
1. Disconnect from LIVE,
2. Play the first race of Forza3,
3. Create and save a vinyl group,
4. Back up to the dashboard,
5. Delete your profile from your Xbox (Profile ONLY, not including items),
6. Reconnect to LIVE,
7. Recover your profile from the cloud,
8. Go to Forza4,
9. Select import vinyl group,
10. Import Forza3 vinyl.

Doing the above has the effect of popping the opening Forza3 achievements offline, but by deleting your profile before reconnecting, your online card has no record of Forza3, leaving you with just the vinyl group to import.

Note: This solution was originally posted by me in the comments section of another solution, but I figured it was worth posting separately as the original author has not updated his solution to take account of the fact that it is possible to get this achievement without having Forza3 on your gamercard permanently.
Credit to Rykin Poe for the knowledge that importing a vinyl group will pop this achievement.

Could you please clarify what do you mean by "Back up the dashboard"?
Do you mean exit to the xbox dashboard, or is there an actual step that requires making a back up of your dashboard (which I've never heard of)... Thanks in advance! :)

this won't get me reset or anything would it?

strange to see someone with an achievement requiring the play of a diff game but doesn't have it on the list lol

See no reason for a reset. There's no cheating involved and the method is easily explained. You still have to play Forza3 - there's just no record of it on your card.

Does it work if I put the Forza 4 profile onto a memory stick as I don't have gold xbox live

I think you're confusing your GT profile with your forza 4 savefile, epd. It's not your forza file you need to delete, it's your gamertag. Therefore you do not need Gold, as all gt are saved to the cloud. Does that make sense? Re-read the solution and make sure you understand how it works before doing anything. I would hate for you to delete the wrong thing and lose one (or all) of your game saves.

Actually, having looked at your profile, edp, you want to follow Solution for Forza Faithful In Forza Motorsport 4 since you already have Forza 3. My solution is explicitly for people who want the achievement WITHOUT getting Forza 3 on their gamercard; since you already have Forza 3 (and completed it - congrats!), just follow Rykin Poe's solution to get your 100% on Forza 4.

Is there need to move my FORZA 4 savedatas in a cloud or usb storage after played FORZA3 and create the vinyl?
I remember i had to do that in forza horizon for a very similar achievement!
0

By PirS92 on 03 Sep 2015 03:39
No, that's not necessary. I suspect the reason for the Horizon one was because, IIRC, the only time FH checked for a savefile was after the first race, so you would have had to start a new savefile for FH - making a backup of an existing save would have been the only way to avoid losing all your previous progress. With the ability to import a vinyl at any point in FM4 and pop this achievement, starting a new FM4 file isn't required.

Start the game and after performing your first lap (Bernese Alps), it will ask you whether you want to start a new game or import your profile from Forza Motorsport 3.

If you choose to import, you will receive a number of extra credits (60,000 CR in my case) and a number of extra cars based on your garage in Forza 3.

You will still start at level 0, even if you import your profile.

You get some good cars by doing this depending on your level:

1: 2010 Abarth 500 Esseesse
5: 2009 Ford Focus RS
10: 2010 Chevrolet Camero SS
15: 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro
20: 2009 Bugatti Veyron 16.4
30: 2009 BMW #92 Rahal Letterman Racing M3 GT2
40: 2006 Aston Martin #007 Aston Martin Racing DBR9
50: 2009 Peugeot #9 Peugeot Sport Total 908

Aditionally, if you have these cars in Forza 3, you will receive the equivalant in Forza 4:

2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe
2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type-A
2006 Subaru Impreza S204
2010 Ferrari 458 Italia
2010 Lexus LF-A
1981 Delorean DMC-12

More information can be found here: http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/underthehood2/

(edited to include Delorean, thanks Malicious $tig)

I bought forza 3 today after playing forza 4 and I got this achievement. For those that don't want to delete your forza 4 save, you transfer your forza 4 to a usb flash drive then remove the flash drive. This will start you like the game is brand new. You must be at least driver level 1 (get about 3 racers into forza 3) before you can import that save into forza 4. Once you are driver level 1 in forza 3, start up forza 4 and listen to the commentary and do the 1 lap around the bermese alps. Then, after this race you can import your save from forza 3.

Ahhhh crap. I had to delete some save files just to get enough room on the HD to import disk 2. That'll teach me to read the ach list first.

Any usb will do, if you have other data on your usb when you first try to use it select custom and follow the instructions. I had huge issues finally getting this cheev, it wouldn't let you import a forza 3 profile unless your driver level 1 and don't have a forza 4 saved profile. I still couldn't import one until I'd deleted all my forza 4 data from the hard drive including the main game and all the dlc. Don't know if this was a one off, but now I can't redownload the release cars and tracks dlc. Really hating turn 10 now for this dumb cheev.

If the transfer option isnt poping is because you need at least a level 1 profile. I wasted almost 4 hours trying to import a level 0...

Luckily enough I was a big Forza addict before this game and I just happened to have a save on my HDD from FM3. If you don't, just rent the game or borrow it from a friend. Simples.
