Forza Motorsport 4

Hello,

This guide need only apply to those who have got Forza Motorsport 3 and own the VIP pack in Forza motorsport 3.

The reason for this: you are prompted to transfer your profile from Forza Motorsport 3 to Forza Motorsport 4, right after you complete the first race in Forza 4.

NOTE: If you already have started Forza 4 and transferred you profile, then you need not worry.

An alternative is that you can start a new save in Forza 4 on another storage device e.g. a USB stick.

This has been confirmed by fellow True Achievement member, Thank you (Doc Chopper)

The VIP pack in Forza 3 is 800msp and includes these cars ‘08 Aston Martin DBS, ‘09 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 ‘07 Ferrari F430 Scuderia, ‘07 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, and ‘07 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997).

EDIT: I have been informed that the VIP Pack has been removed from the marketplace (Thank you JDawgg77) however it is still possible to get a code online or through Limited Edition Copies (LCE)

Both the 07 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, and the ‘07 Ferrari F430 Scuderia are Unicorn cars in Forza Motorsport 4

Once you have the VIP Pack and required cars.

1: Load up Forza 3 and buy either;
07 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, or the
07 Ferrari F430 Scuderia.

2: Once you have done this, start up the game Forza 4 and complete your first race. Once you have done that it will ask you if you want to import your profile from Forza 3, say yes and you will get the Unicorn Hunter achievement.

The reason for this as stated above is that both the
07 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, and the ‘07 Ferrari F430 Scuderia are Unicorn cars in Forza Motorsport 4. As you have just imported them from your Forza 3 profile you get the achievement.

Yes at the end of the day you have to buy an achievement, unless of course you already owned the VIP pack in Forza 3.

Just to be clear I am Not telling people to buy the V.I.P pack in Forza 3. This is just a suggestion.

Unicorn cars as everyone knows go for crazy amounts of credits in the Auction house, so it is not a guarantee to win one.

Hi folks, sorry it has been a while, from the comments I have been getting on the solution as of late, it does look like the chances of getting The Unicorn Hunter achievement is still possible.

I would like to thank you for the comments and of course the up-votes, it is appreciated!

If you read the comments below from November 2016 and February 2017, people are still getting their hands on VIP and LCE codes. A member was kind enough to share a link also.

Thank you to those of you that have been doing this, Yaeven and Lucky Brian to name but a few.

So to conclude, the good news as of February 2017 is that it does look people are still talking about this Achievement, despite the game being quite dated, which is nice to see and there is some life in this achievement yet.

Unicorn Hunter - 10G.
Be the winning bidder on any "unicorn" car in the Auction House.

The description for this achievement is very misleading and does not require you to bid for a unicorn and win it via the auction house.

This guide will summarise all the different ways of obtaining a unicorn and getting the Unicorn Hunter achievement.

Please note that unicorns owned by individuals cannot be gifted to friends or sold via the auction house. So asking a friend for a spare unicorn won't work.

There are 17 unicorns in Forza Motorsport 4. Upon obtaining or importing one, the achievement will unlock.

The unicorns include:

Now that the cars you are looking for are clear, here are the methods:

1. Importing a Forza Motorsport 3 Unicorn.

The Forza Motorsport 3 unicorns are the 3 marked with a single asterisk in the list, if you had one of these in your garage then they will be imported over into Forza Motorsport 4 when you import profile.

2. Importing a 'VIP Car Pack' DLC car.

Some cars were not unicorns in Forza Motorsport 3, but obtained unicorn "status" in 4, two of these cars (marked with double asterisks in the unicorn list) are purchasable via the marketplace for FM3. Unfortunately, the pack does cost 800MSP. It gets you 5 vehicles and VIP Status for Forza Motorsport 3. To obtain a unicorn via this method, you must purchase the DLC pack and purchase either the Ferrari or the Lamborghini from the dealer for it to be added to your garage. The other 3 cars in the pack (Aston Martin, Porsche, Chevrolet) are not unicorns so don't worry about purchasing them. Upon importing a profile with either of those cars, the achievement should unlock.

The previous two methods require you to have actually played Forza Motorsport 3. If you have not, don't worry! The following methods will help.

3. Become a Forza Motorsport 4 VIP.

This is possible by purchasing the Limited Collector's Edition of FM4 or by purchasing VIP membership for 1200MSP via the marketplace. This method will not get you the unicorn and thus achievement instantly. VIPs often get gifted Unicorns, normally with special liveries, at festive times of the year (Christmas, anniversaries of the game's release, other holidays). If you get gifted a unicorn car by Turn 10, you will get a message in game - visit the message box and retrieve the car, unlocking the achievement.

4. "Guess the DLC Car" Thread replies.

This is the most radical of all the options, but every month when a DLC pack is about to be released, a member of staff may set up a "DLC Clues" thread where you must guess what car is going to be in the next DLC pack. You don't have to guess the car, which is great, they randomly award any replies in order to throw people off the scent of correctly guessed cars. This requires you to be a sign onto the forums but more importantly, it relies on there being more DLC, which could stop or start at any point.

5. Check the Forums for other threads which offer unicorn chances.

the staff always have threads going where you can grab a unicorn. Visit the forums as often as possible to maximise chances of getting unicorns. Link to the forums can be found here:

6. Participate in a Rivals Event which offers a Unicorn car.

100 Unicorns are randomly given out weekly to people who set a time in a specific Rivals Event. This is luck and you should check the description to see whether or not the event offers unicorns. Enter weekly to ensure you have a time. Sometimes, the Event which offers the unicorn requires a DLC car, so note that this option is not always easily available.

Furthermore, Monthly VIP only Rivals Events are set up where the participant can set ANY time and still get a unicorn at the end of the month.

7. Beat a time in the Community Bounty Hunter monthly race.

Every month, a member of Turn 10 staff or a special guest will set a time and unicorns will be gifted at the end of the month to everyone who beats that time. Be aware that they can improve upon their times so check regularly on the forum thread (or add them to favourites on the leaderboards in game). Make sure your time is "clean". A "dirty" 1:00 is placed lower on the leaderboard than a "clean" 1:10.

The difficulty of the CBH events can vary massively, one month they are extremely difficult and the next month they might be a lot more straight forward.


These are all the methods and opportunities where unicorns can be won. I am aware that some are luck based and others are going to cost you, please do not vote negative for that. This guide is simply there to help you understand the different ways in which unicorns are obtainable.

Sign up with an account, and Underneath the General Discussion Thread every so often a Rep from Turn 10 will have a post saying 'Unicorn Chance', In my case after only 1 day of checking that website I saw the Unicorn Chance post and All I had to do was Post about what I was looking forward to in Forza Horizon the most and a couple hours later I put in my Forza 4 disc and my Top Secret 0-300 Supra was waiting for me and cheevo Popped!!! Just another option to keep in mind If the other Guides aren't working out for you.

UPDATE: This solution will no longer work as turn ten have stopped gifting unicorn cars for rewards. I'll keep this solution here as an archive though.

There is another method that i know of that requires you to simply make progress in the game (e.g. Leveling up, unlocking achievements) and then visiting the link:
forzamotorsport.net > Rewards tab > Redeem

Sometimes there will be a unicorn car available to redeem. As of writing this guide there is a Skyline GTR unicorn car available to redeem for the next 4 days. While you do not need to make progress to unlock rewards more will unlock from it.

Some rewards include credits and unicorn cars and will update every week. You need to redeem them when they do become available and you will have them sent to you in a message from Turn 10 in-game on Forza 4 within 4 hours.

At the time of writing you can also unlock similar rewards for Forza Horizon

Another way is to send him a MP, he will surely offer you a unicorn ...

You have to be Gold to receive Unicorns, Silver can't receive anything !

EDIT : according to xSHADOWxWRAITHx comment, it seems the Unicorns can't be gifted so easily as it could be.
