If people have not enough luck with the Tune provided earlier by Horras. I know another tune that did very well for me.

Car: Ford Transit SSV (DLC Car)
Creator: DBB Bendrix
Description: KGI

The following Assists I had on and I did a clean 9:52.8 in the first lap.
For the Achievement it don't have to be a clean lap.

Drive-Line: Braking Only
Breaking: ABS On
Steering: Normal
TCM & STM: Only TCM on
Gearing: Automatic
Damage/Tyre's/Fuel: Off

If you're new to the track it is a bit harder to pull this off in first lap or even second. Take some time (rewinds can be used) to learn the corners and breaking-points. Like there is in the first part of the track a bridge you go over. Before this bridge there is a breaking indicator, but you don't need to brake there. People who are familiar to the track know what I mean.

I tried the Horras tune listed in the solution listed above and couldnt get the 10 min mark (10.08 quickest) and after choosing your set up, i did a 9.50 from a standing start! thumbs up from me

Wonderful guide, got it first try. Scored a 9:57.662. Just set your rival to one of the guys that is just within the time limit (ex: 9:59.766) and if they start to pull ahead, rewind and retake the corner.

I used manual gears and I found down-shifting when approaching a hill if i was in the low/mid rev range alot easier.

Tune works perfectly (I used the one called "Nurburgring rival" from DBB Bendrix).
Got a 9:51 lap time on my first try from a standing start.

Used this tune and put in an 09:45.512 which puts me at #451 in the world as of posting. Did it with automatic shifting on but all other assists off, was such a nice drive

Didn't change gears to automatic at first, couldn't get it... came in 12 seconds too slow both laps... finally quit, switched gears to auto and barely scraped by with a 9:58 something or other first try... guess I'm not as good at shifting as I thought :/

buy* and yes its because as soon as Forza 5 became free with gold, Turn 10 delisted all of their dlcs and possibly other services. They've done this before on Forza Horizon.

Sorry to anyone that couldn't buy the necessary dlcs...

Maybe you can still do it by playing while another player account who has the dlcs is logged in. It worked on Forza Horizon. Just download the DLCs, log in with both accounts and try to buy the cars with game credits.
Of course you will need a friend who has the dlcs and to be trustworthy enough to borrow them.

9:56 first try. For some reason the van was free for me, even without a car pass. The same for #10 Holden car, altough Impala wasn't free. Maybe it's temporary.

very good solutions so far, I'll throw mine in the "ring". Tried a couple tunes and they did not work for me. Made my own, 1st lap 9:54, didn't need a second lap, save yourself the extra 10min and agony of driving a turd. You can find my tune by searching by GT: badad117, lap#1 9:54. This tune is power only, exactly what you need for this track. On the long hills you need to keep accelerating and/or not lose speed. Good luck.

Thank you so much, it took me a few tries as I'm not the best at this game but all the other tunes I couldn't get below 10 minutes and 10 seconds. On the third lap I got 9:59. on and off been trying to get this for years no joke, got furloughed so I'm at home playing video games and so glad to have this one DONE!!!!

Summer 2021, your tune was still available as #3 in the list without searching. :)

Downloaded it, applied it, raced with it, aced it and got the achievemebt on my 1st attempt with couple of rewinds and some bad driving not on the perfect racing line. :)

BTW 1: It probably helped a bit that I reversed "few hundred meters" and started driving so I passed the starting line with speed and not accelerating from 0.

BTW 2: My time was about 9:52 but the leaderboards seem to be broken, now when I went to look at it, it still says my best time is 10:25 (from some previous attempts many many years ago).

Great guide buddy. I got it on lap 2 with a time of 9:59:747 using ur setup. All the other ones failed for me. I still need the tuning setup ones and paint job ones.

I have created a tune that will help. The thing you have to remember is to increase your tuning settings. Do not exceed a class of D 280; if you are going to tune it yourself. If you would like to use my tune I will list it below. I got a 9:50 with it first time.

TUNE
Description: Transit Nurburg
Creator: vak 77

Most of the assists will not matter but this was my set-up

Drive-Line: Full
Breaking: ABS On
Steering: Normal

Thanks for this. For those like me who are rubbish, it is possible with assisted braking with this tune. I clocked 10 minutes, 0.329 seconds and that was enough to unlock the achievement. My split times tell me it is possible to actually get under 10 minutes like this but who cares? I got the achievement!

All assists were on except steering which was "normal". The next bit makes it look hard but bear with me, I don't think it is. You have to absolutely nail the driving line then work out where you can cut fractions off the turns and how hard you can turn without losing grip at any point. Reversing kills an attempt, not because the lap is dirty but because it messes up the automatic settings somehow (similar but far worse in FH4).

When I got into a groove with that it was fairly easy to get around 10.01 times then a few more to start shaving off the fractions. A ghost is helpful as an ongoing view of how well you're doing. Bit mystified by the down-votes, tbh.

I did it again, got it at 9:55 with a generic setup but it was my own. I wonder if it isn't popping for some of us if it is related to an odd glitch that requires you to use your own tune.

Hi, i got this today using my tuning named "280 Rivals" on lap 2, so just search for

Creator: horras
Enviroment: nürburgring
tuning : 280 rivals
Car: yeah you now ;) (Ford transit)

And do two laps on rivals spec challange "i could do that in a van"

My setup is,

Line : full
braking : abs on
Steering : simulation
T and S : tcs and stm on
Shifting : automatic
Damage : simulation
