How to unlock the Red and Bleu! achievement in Forza Motorsport 5 - Definitive Guide

Update: The April game update makes all of the initial 200 cars that launched with Forza 5 available as rental cars so it's no longer necessary to use the "rental glitch" if you don't own the car that is required for this achievement.

Go to Free Play
Car: 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
Track: Le Mans - Old Mulsanne Circuit
Rounds: 1

If you don't own the car select "Rent Car" and choose any car (the Ferrari isn't available there). Then select "Buy Car" and choose the Ferrari. Before selecting a design press "B" until you're back at the main menu of Free Play. The Ferrari will be your car now.
Finish the race to unlock the achievement.

I cannot get this solution to work. Every time I try to do this it keeps putting me back in my own car.

Correction/update on instructions: to get the car swap to work I needed (i) go in and select a "rental" car, then (ii) go into the "buy car" menu and followed the instructions above.

Again I did as above then went to pick a colour. Just make sure you back all the way out, as the car won't show up in the pick a car screen.

Niiiccceee!!! Great glitch you found.
To elucidate on your fine solution, the car is never yours, as in "it's in your garage." It does allow it to be rented for the moment.
Also, for those curious like me, it DOES NOT WORK on the other tracks. It can be done with 0 drivatars if you'd just like an easy drive through the French countryside.

It looks like you have to race the full Le Mans track, I tried the shorter, Bugatti version, and the achi didn't pop.

Only the full old Mulsanne track configuration worked for me, the modern circuit didnt.

Quickest way to get:

Load up Game and Choose Multiplayer
Hit cn_Y to start Private Match
Choose Rent Car
Find and select 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
Easier to find with filters/sorting:
cn_X for Sort, choose Year (then scroll to the end quickly with cn_RB)
or
cn_Y for filters, choose D & RWD
cn_X for Sort, choose Class and it should be the fourth vehicle.
From this menu click cn_A -> Game Options
Game Type: Timed Race
Environment: Le Mans Circuit*
Track: Old Le Mans
Race Length: 00:30
Car Class: D
Save The Above Options
cn_X to launch the race.

Go grab a drink or something similar.
Once the timer has finished and the race has ended you will unlock cn_guide Red and Bleu!

*If this is not installed, the easiest way to get it is to back out to the main menu, choose Free Play then in the top menu choose Select Track, scroll over to Le Mans Circuit... hit cn_A. You could do this in Free Play, but if you want it quicker (30 second game) do the multiplayer steps above.
