You can get this by buying it for 250.000 Credits (Doesn't have to be same color as cover to unlock)

EDIT: As ScuzzyBunny pointed out in the comments you can also buy the Ford GT for 250,000 get the achievement and then sell the car for 125,000 if you already got the car from playing the demo.

Weird. I played the demo and unlocked the ford gt but it isnt showing up in message center

Ok so I own the car because I played the demo, but when I chose to "Get in Car", the achievement has yet to pop.

So do I need to finish a race with it? More specifically a career race? Please comment when a solution is found thanks

@mr x 93 it should pop after you download the car from messages, Are you sure the achievement isnt stuck on done unlocking... ? else maybe try to do a 1 lap free play race with it

You need to buy the car. The gifted car didn't count for me. Even after entering the car and doing a few races with it.

Yeah for some reason it's not popping up for me either. Downloaded, free race, did a vista, and upgraded. Still nothing, I'm going to try maybe restarting the game later and see if that works. Worse come to worse, it's only 250,000 credits.

I haven't received my gift car yet, so what I did was buy the Ford GT for 250,000, popped the achv, and then sold the car for 125,000. Once I get my gift car I will have it again, and I'm only out 125k.

The work-around of buying the car is not a true solution.
I was gifted the car, therefore, I own it, therefore, the achievement should have unlocked me.
Matter of principle. Let's see if Turn 10's attention to detail will prevail with this issue.

I did like.. 4 achievements (easy ones) and none of them popped up... So, just did a race on the full ring with the Ford GT (with 24 driveatars, finished 1st yada yada yada) and no achievement popped up.. I used my gifted GT and still nothing, so i bought a GT and guess what... still nothing. Im gonna give Turn 10 the benifit of the doubt but i really hope i get my achievements soon cause other wise im gonna be really let down by Turn 10.

This is unlocked by purchasing the cover car of Forza Motorsport 6 which is the Ford GT 2017 which costs 250,000 Credits. Find the car under the Ford manufacturer area and purchase it. Pick any color and the achievement will then unlock.

Seems kind of crappy that they give you the car for playing the demo but make you buy it to get the points. Think they should have gifted a different car or made the car to buy a different one for the gamer points.

To Complete The Forza 6 Achievement Cover Car you need to purchase the Ford 2017 GT 2017 Even if you Have The Forza 6 Ultimate edition you can not use the Gifted car to complete the achievement. Purchase the Ford GT 2017 and the you will complete the achievement Cover Car

You can Buy This Car For The Achievement Cover Car for 250k and then sell it but you will only get 125k back

Silly question. I got the achievement and when I tried to sell the car (as I got the one for playing the demo) I only found "remove" the car from the garage.
I did not find any "sell" option.
Where do I find it?

Relatively easy achievement to get! All you need is 250,000 credits to actually buy the car. Gifts etc don't count towards the achievement so it actually has to be bought. If you already have one, you can easily sell this one back for 125,000.

Everybody that played the demo gets a free GT gifted by T10. Despite that, it doesn't count towards the achievement. From the main menu, go to "Find Cars," go to manufacturer Ford and find the 2017 Ford GT; it should be listed for 250,000 credits. Buy it when you got enough credits.
