How to unlock the Going Platinum achievement in Forza Motorsport 6 - Definitive Guide
In the Main menu go to options - change badge and select a platinum badge that you have unlocked (i did it with the badge for reaching tier 8 in forza reward)
EDIT: As Maka91 said in the comments the easiest badge to get if you are not tier 8 is the platinum for driving a total of 1000 miles.

You should scan, so people don't down-vote you for not having the achievement.

The achievement unlocks when you equip a platinum badge that you have unlocked.
The fastest and coolest way that I've found was unlock the 'In The Draft' Platinum NASCAR badge. I've used the MasTRE007's guide for the 'Dirty Air' Achievement (less the NASCAR Car, cause I dont have the DLC), and have complete the achievement in under 25 minutes.
So when you reach the mark of 100 perfect drafts, the Platinum Badge shows up. Just change for this Badge and the Achievement will pop.
NOTE: You also will complete the 'Geared Up' Achievement equipping this badge. Doesn't need have the NASCAR Expansion. 3 Achievements in One Run :)

During the course of the game, you are awarded badges for almost everything like not hitting anything during a lap, perfect overtakes, driving x amount of different cars and so on. These badges are listed & described in the most right pane of the Main Menu under "Badges." If you have no skills/hurry, you will get a Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum badge anyway after completing the career. Select a badge, press to equip it and achievement unlocks. These do NOT stack (so platinum doesn't also give bronze to gold at the same time).

In the main menu in the "Settings" tab there is an item "Change icon". Put any platinum and that's it.
