If you're looking for the quickest way, VIR Patriot is the shortest variant of VIR at 1.1 miles. I completed a lap in 45 seconds in the Porsche 919 while going for the 10 mid engine Porsche races.

didn't count forwards in a private multiplayer lobby, only in free play. (by me)

Good solution, did each lap around 41-42 seconds on average. I got all the multiplayer achievements done in private lobbies too.

The online connection broke at lap 21. angry
Are these laps "saved" or must I do all 40 laps again? Can I go by more races, of lesser laps instead? Like 4x10?

Trismegistos, I don't know if the laps save if your get disconnected. You can do the laps over multiple races, as I did a number of 1 lap races going for other achievements.

Does the achievement pop mid race or do you have to wait until you finish?

it is worth noting that you can also do the rain/night laps during these laps to minimise how much you need to do in MP (if you don't have them already)

The easiest way to get this done is to choose the Patriot variation of VIR as it's the shortest and run 40 laps. This doesn't have to be done all at once and is best worked on with the achievements "All-Terrain", "Business In Front, Party Out Back" and "Middle Child".
