How to unlock the Devoted Racer achievement in Forza Motorsport 7 - Definitive Guide
Hey guys, I feel like this may be the fastest way to obtain all the lap related achievements for multiplayer so I thought I would share.
Before I get into the solution, to be able to start a private lobby in Forza 7 multiplayer, you need a second player. If you have a second Xbox account and a PC running windows 10 and you bought the game digitally then you can use both devices to enter a private lobby as that is what I did. If you are unable to do that and don't have any friends playing Forza 7, then feel free to use the comments section of this solution to join up with other people.
This can be done while idle, given you have something to hold the button in on your controller and have it plugged in. All you need to do is set your steering assist to 'Super Easy'. The game then steers for you and if you have the pushed in, there isn't anything you need to do. Apart from wait of course.
I did this in two races with one of the IndyCars. It doesn't have to be done in the order I list them however.
-----Race 1-----
Track: Homestead Speedway Circuit
Race Length: 1h 45 mins
Max Drivers: (Doesn't matter, but I set it to 2)
Game Type: Timed Race
Track Scenario: Rain
Car Division: IndyCar
This will net you these two achievements
-----Race 2-----
Track: Daytona Intl Speedway Tri-Oval Circuit
Race Length: 50 laps (Will take roughly 32 minutes)
Max Drivers: (Doesn't matter, but I set it to 2)
Game Type: Circuit Race
Track Scenario: Night
Car Divison: IndyCar
This will net you these two achievements
Thank you to Paulfc for pointing out you will also unlock this achievement as well, completely passed over me as I did unlock this throughout the race myself.

My trick was to enter drag race. Same procedure with using elastic to press RT permanently. Connect the controller via an USB cable to the Xbox console. Went to bed and had the 100 and 300 laps added to my account and 300k credits in my account.

If you like to race in multiplayer, then this achievement will pop up naturally, just go play multiplayer and enjoy the game. If multiplayer is not your cup of tea, then do the following to get two achievements.
You need to invite at least one player to join your private lobby in multiplayer. It can leave the session once the race starts (you can ride alone - just be sure there are at least two players in the session at the very beginning). You need a second player just to start the race in multiplayer. Also, you can use second PC / console with your Microsoft Account and dummy Xbox Live account.
Select Daytona Tri-oval and set it to 310 laps (add 10 laps more - achievement may be buggy and some laps may not count). Disable collisions and any type of damage (just to avoid wasting time in the pit). Select X-class car to make things go faster. No need to buy a car, you can rent it.
If you don't mind spending a few hours next to your PC / console (it will take a bit more than 3 hrs in X-class car), go and race. In the end, you will get lots of credits and XP, especially, if you use Improved Revards mods (it's a nice way to earn some credits to get the collectors achievements). Finish the race and you will get the achievement and a lot of cash / XP.
Alternatively, you can go to Assists section and set Steering to Super Easy and Braking to Assisted. Also, be sure to switch shifting to Automatic. This will basically make your car drive itself - all you need to do is hold the accelerator and touch nothing. Start the race and leave your gamepad with something holding the accelerator (for example, place your gamepad between two books). Leave your PC / console to farm the achievement for you. You will get them in about 3 hours.
Note: turning on "autopilot" disables any rewars - you won't receive any credits or XP in this race. Unfortunately, if you want to use long multiplayer races to farm the cash / XP, you need to do it manually.

You could go for this legit just by playing the multiplayer in this game, but considering how long the wait time for lobbies and loading can be it could be a while.
A quicker option would be to find a friend or boosting partner and create your own private lobby. The race setup could look like this:
Track: Daytona Intl Speedway Tri-Oval Circuit
Race Length: 50 laps
Game Type: Circuit Race
Car Division: Indy (or any division you prefer)
Now just use this setup with your boosting partner to knock out the 300 laps to unlock the achievement.

Calmly done on Juan together with a friend with a gamepad clamped with an elastic band, similar to Endurances! We call a friend, choose the shortest circular track (we did it on top gear), turn on all the assistants completely, hold down the gas with a rubber band, and go about our business. Don't forget to connect the gamepad with a wire so that it doesn't pause. A couple of hours and you're done.

Knocked out on Xbox one. You only need two people to start.
We choose the shortest routes. Not everywhere you can choose rain or night.
For trips in the rain we choose:
Homestead Miami Speedway oval. Set up 50 circles.
For trips at night we choose:
Daytona Enternational Speedway tri-oval. We set 50 laps.
You can also ask one person to just help start the race, and then leave. You can easily travel alone.
