I have purchased a total of 29 50k crates and have not received 1 legendary mod....
Using the above technique of buying 5bat once did not help either...

HELP PLEASE!!

Gotta just keep buying them, I probably bought about 80 cases before I got all 3 needed

It does work on free play, just earned it doing only one lap in free play against 1 ai

I have gotten one from a basic crate. It's just very rare and the other mods you get along the way are junk.

Just popped it using 3 Legendary cockpit cam mods.

Didn't work on free play for me so just used them on a driver's cup.

Do the VIP Mods count?

The current crate is Master Mods Crate for 30k, just got my first legendary from one.

I can confirm that using 3x Payday mods at once works too

FYI, a legendary "Race in the Rain" card doesn't work for this cheevo, but a legendary "No Going Back" that turns off rewinds does work. I used three no rewind cards to unlock this.

Didn't unlock for me. Used 3 legendary mods from 30k crates, completed them all and got nothing.

There is a misunderstanding with VIP pass and Legendary mods.

The 1 Legendary mod can be used 5 times, and there is not 5 separate mods.
I checked this on official Forza forum.

So I take it all the legendary mods need to have a challenge on the for this to unlock?

EDIT: Ok. I equipped 3 legendary mods and this didn't unlock. Some of them didn't have challenges on them, so I guess that answers my question.

I just did this with two improved rewards and one starting line mods, none were challenges

I confirm that only one was with challenge (placement....) and I got it.

I grabed this achievment in Free Play with a timed event (30 seconds). Done in 30 seconds.

I used Lockdown, No Turning Back and Clean Racing legendary (gold) mods in a 30 second timed race in Freeplay and I got this achievement. After the short race ends, just press the quit button and once you are at the main menu, the achievement will pop for you.

Dang, i'm in the evolution series, waited around to get the 3 leg mods, equipped them and ran a race, no achievement.

Free play is the way to go!

I bought VIP pass solely for this achievement. I only got 1 legendary mod and other badges, cars and uniforms. So I would like to inform everyone else that you DO NOT get 5 legendary mods from the VIP and it appears to be random.

Just want to say that if you are simply trying to get this achievement the quickest way possible, by all means get three Legendary mods, equip them, and do a 1 lap race with 0 drivatars. However, in doing so you're throwing away a big credit/XP boost, as most Legendary mods will boost credits/XP by 80% or more.

I did my own version of the Indy 500, and with the three Legendary mods I had equipped (for a total boost of 290%) I received nearly 2.5 million credits and went up 10 driver levels for a little more than 2 hours worth of racing.

Weird - I have gotten DOZENS of crates and never got anything better than SUPER RARE - this is becoming mildly frustrating.
I already have written off the last to first cheevo - can never seem to get into a reliable boosting session, looks like this one may have to be added that list.

I got 3 Legendary ones in 7 Master crates, so its about 50% chance of getting it. Already had one from VIP i didn't wanna use for this achievement.

My Race Setup to get this achievement:
- Free Race + Easy mode
- Homestead track
- Laps 5, but only 1-2 is needed on easy.
- 12 AI Cars (I needed that for 1 of the legendaries

- Legendary: Place better than 5th (Needs 12 AI players)
- Legendary: Stay on track for the whole race (Very easy on Homestead)
- Legendary: Rewind OFF

- I'm saving my 5 x 100% reward Legendary for 5 proper races with a better payouts. ;)

This should be the top solution. I bought 3 Master packs for 30 K each today, got 1 legandary in the 2nd and 3 (1) in the 3rd pack. Went to Free Play and picked the Homested track. Easy one.

But people hurry up! The crates are soon to be removed from FM7!
