How to unlock the Gorefest achievement in Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle - Definitive Guide
Murder Marathon features a one-after-the-other set of kill animations, so long as you click in the middle of the Kill Zone. Unfortunately for us, the Kill Zone progressively gets smaller with every consecutive kill, and doesn't even stay in one spot. Which means that the timing will vary from kill to kill, and isn't consistent even across Murder Marathon attempts.
Thankfully, our good old mother will give us exactly ONE extra chance to keep the kill streak alive, assuming you manage a handful first.
In the end, this achievement largely comes down to timing and practice. So this guide is just going to list some general tips and tricks.
Firstly, I found it enormously helpful to focus directly on the middle of the Kill Zone. Instead of following the moving marker, by focusing on the exact center of the middle of the accepted range my reflexes were more consistently able to hit the target as soon as the marker entered the range.
Secondly, as the Kill Zone gets smaller, dedicate more time to watching the marker move. You don't have a time limit per kill. Let it bounce from beginning to end until you're ready to try. This is especially helpful when the Kill Zone is in an awkward spot, or when it gets tiny (basically any Kill after 20).
Thirdly, if the Kill Zone is near the left hand side, remember that the marker moves slower in that initial quarter or so. Sometimes that can throw off your timing, but as you gain awareness for where it starts to slow down, it helps a lot.
Fourthly, ignore or cut the music entirely. Most people like to click buttons on the beat. That can kill a good run.
Fifthly, take breaks when you get frustrated. Frustration tends to lead to being extra jumpy, screwing your reflexes. You need to stay calm and focused to get this right.
Good luck!

Gave this a whirl this morning on a whim, and uh... 2. I'm sure I can get it to 30 some day though

I just got it!
Times played: 137
Overall kills: 1101
If I can do it, anybody can.

I don’t know why, but if you remove the blood by lowering the rating, the marathon will become much easier. Made it to 43 the first time

I didn’t notice much of a difference in difficulty, having changed the age rating according to the hint above. But the increase in time for the killing animation is very noticeable. There are only 2 of them and both are long (unlike a regular murder with a knife, etc.). So I don’t recommend turning on “children’s” mode.
