Simply play as each one of the ten counselors!
Unlocking some of them will take some time playing through the game.

Vanessa - Starts Unlocked
Chad - Starts Unlocked
Jenny - Starts Unlocked
Kenny - Starts Unlocked
AJ - Level 4
Deborah - Level 6
Brandon - Level 8
Eric - Level 10
Adam - Level 14
Tiffany - Level 18

Also, Tommy Jarvis does not count as a counselor for this achievement!
It does not matter if you die or not as playing them. Simply completing a match will count towards the achievement. You cannot lag out or quit for it to count.

Tips for ranking up quickly:
One of the best ways I have found to rank up quickly to unlock these characters is to grab a friend in a private match. Have whoever is Jason to morph/teleport where the counselor player is and quickly kill them. This will net both players a minimum of 500XP and will also count towards other achievements listed below dependent on who was Jason or a Counselor respectively:

The First Blood achievement in Friday the 13th: The Game worth 11 pointsKill 1 counselor.

The Summercamp achievement in Friday the 13th: The Game worth 11 pointsPlay 1 multiplayer match as a counselor.

The Camp Counselor achievement in Friday the 13th: The Game worth 382 pointsPlay 500 multiplayer matches as a counselor.

The The Final Chapter achievement in Friday the 13th: The Game worth 1892 pointsPlay 1000 multiplayer matches as Jason.

The Jason Goes To Hell achievement in Friday the 13th: The Game worth 139 pointsKill 666 counselors.

Mine finally unlocked

Pretty sure I had to play as each counselor and ESCAPE/SURVIVE for it to count. Possibly with all the connection errors/crashes/server problems it just wasn't counting each time but idk

Adding to this.
1. You have to complete the match if the host quits or the game glitches it will not count.
2. If for some reason you die and end up playing as tommy Jarvis, this will negate the count for the counselor and you will need to play another game with that same character.

Just to add I finally got this the other night. Playing as Chad. Sure I played as him before but this time I did survive. So maybe you do have to survive/escape as each character for it to count.

Mine unlocked without the use of Mitch, Fox or Victoria (as I haven't unlocked them yet.) Baffled me as I thought you had to play as all of them. Or is it that they don't count as well?

There are 14 counselors but you need to play and complete a match with 10 of them. You start the game with 5 counselors but only 4 of them count because the last one is a game update. The others will unlock as you level up.
