Recommended loadout:
-A shoulder Gatling gun (I used Anaconda)
-A bazooka (I used Banish 2)
-A repair pack
-High armor torso
The reason for the Gatling gun/Bazooka is not only because they take the enemy out, but they do a lot of splash damage. The EDGE meter fills as you do damage to body parts and highly focused weapons (like rifles) take the enemy out too quickly. The bazooka and Gatling combo raise your EDGE quite fast which speeds up the time it take to get the achievement.
Location: ACT V - Tower of Babel
This is a medium high difficulty map but as long as you have good equipment and a repair pack it should be pretty easy even on hard (which is what I did it on). You do not want to select a lower ACT map as the enemies die too quickly and you do not build your EDGE as much. This stage also has a ton of enemies.
Strategy: Use the Gatling/Bazooka combo to take out a couple Mediums or one heavy and you should get enough EDGE for a burst. Weaken an enemy or too and when they are close to being destroyed kick on EDGE and take them out. Once the enemies are destroyed end EDGE and repeat. Don't forget to use the repair pack if needed and keep in mind that the bazooka damages you if you hit a wanzer too close to you (such as the brawlers). Continue with the stage until you get to the large warehouse battle where the wanzers come down on elevators. At this point you can either take them all out and restart the level once your on foot, or die when the last enemy in the warehouse is left then resume the checkpoint. Both count towards the achievement.

You'll first get access to the E.D.G.E. system at the end of the mission "Apollo's Chariot". Activate E.D.G.E. with 
and kill away at John Woo speeds. Only enemies killed while E.D.G.E. is still active will count towards the trophy.
Purge
E.D.G.E. is a power you unlock after the “Apollo’s Chariot” mission. After shooting and fighting so many wanzers, you’ll notice a blue bar filling up on the bottom left beside your health. Press 
and you’ll get a very short boost in power. Usually there was only enough time to activate it and kill one wanzer everytime I used E.D.G.E. so I recommend weakening all your enemies and then activating E.D.G.E. to kill them. You don’t need to get 50 kills in one level, all the kills you get while in E.D.G.E. mode stack up throughout the campaign so as long as you use this power frequently, you should have no problem.

and it is also deactivated if you have already killed an enemy and do not want to waste EDGE.The tactics for killing enemies for this trophy are as follows: first, use missiles and other weapons to remove 23 health from the enemy, then activate EDGE and finish off with missiles and long-range weapons.
Thus, even on “hard” difficulty there are no problems with this.
