Frostpunk: Edition

As you continue to progress with developing each settlement, eventually at the end of level III you'll be able to connect your settlements with a "highway" that provides a regular flow of that settlement's particular resource. Along that route, there will be three separate areas you will need to build out the road using wood and steel. Each node uses the same amount of resources with a few exceptions:

There are a few nodes where the construction crew notices something that may make the route unsafe (avalanche, crevasses etc) and ask if they should use additional resources (wood) to address the risk.

I can tell you that sometimes I addressed the risk by spending the resources, and sometimes I did not (either through choice or lack of extra resources) and am not aware of any interruptions to the supply chain when I did not address the risk. In other words, I never got a message that a calamity happened that destroyed my incoming or outgoing shipment. It's possible it just never made it without letting me know but I doubt it. If anyone experienced otherwise, please comment.
