How to unlock the Ultramarathon Extreme achievement in Frostpunk: Edition - Definitive Guide

One of the harder achievements I've tried to get and this achievement IS NOT FUN. I got to day 49 and lost due to a bad beginning. The video below is great! but make a cookhouse BEFORE day 3. This will remove the "no raw food" issue you will start to have and gives you a 2 day grace period before you need to send out hunters.

TIPS:
There are 3 "versions" of the map you select. These change the location of every resource on the map.

Keep resetting till you get this exact map on "carter". Don't go for any other achievement while you are going for this one.

Here is a "walkthrough" video that also gives some useful tips. Follow this EXACTLY. Sick people are random in this hard mode, so if your's is well above her's just load a previous save:

Not a full guide but a few tips.

Get the map that has the same resources as a new home with the -20 Celsius starting temperature and -40 Celsius starting day 3 (same map layout as the video linked by LostSpireGames)

Turn random hazards off it is not required for the achievement, always use laws the second they are available always use gen on overdrive at least for 11:59pm to 6:00am otherwise keep it off until med station is cold and can't function. always rotate jobs to suit current needs for example having many sick people, extended shift everything you can and don't be afraid to emergency shift a workshop several times very early on if you need too, make your scout teams full of sick people by maxing workers and removing the in treatment or going for treatment workers on the far right tab when you select a workplace and pressing Y on the worker, and be very efficient with every moment and for every worker.

The best starting advice I can give is pause at 07:30 emergency shift, 15 workers each on the bottom two wood piles use emergency shift on both and 10 workers each each on the steel piles on the right also emergency shift. Survivors can't die from emergency shift if they have never had a job on day 1 they will be fine. keep paused put 2 workhouses behind the stockpiles with the remaining 15 engineers working on them, as soon as they are done put the engineers in them research beacon and put the the last 5 engineers on a steel pile. wait until 18:00 pause take the 10 engineers out of the workshops use them to build as much as you can until 6.00am the next day, build a gathering post to the other 2 wood piles and steel that were not worked on with roads and one at the closest two coal deposits, med station to the left of the stockpiles and as soon as that is done put the 5 engineers from the steel pile on it then and build a second to the directly to the left and put 3 engineers in them each 1 from a work shop.

Rush 2 hothouses for food and 1 wall drill then hunters when food starts becoming an issue and soup if you can spare the discontent never use sawdust, coal should never be an issue with a good early thumper team after getting all starting coal piles and proper heating and gen usage.

You really want at least 1 survivor location very early on hopefully with engineers

I got no steam cores at all from scouts and found 3 survivor locations before the second storm hits, after that I put 10 gathering posts with steam hub heating on 2 steam thumpers had 6500 food (with 8 fully upgraded flying hunters and 2 hot houses) 15000 coal 80% of stuff researched put the gen on max power and range 3 destroyed the hothouses and wall drill built 3 infirmaries and sat back while Righteous Denunciation kept fully restocking all my lost food with no food production running and only lowered discontent while waiting for day 100 with my 202 citizens.

laws, Emergency Shift, Extended Shift, Radical Treatment, Overcrowding, Corpse Disposal, Organ Transplants, Child workers Safe jobs.

Techs, Beacon, Heaters, Hothouse, Wall Drill, Steelworks, Bunkhouse, Steam hub Medical Post Upgrade, Healthcare insulation, Generator Range Upgrade 1, Coal Thumpers, Gathering Post Insulation 1.

I can give further tips and advice if you msg me or ask in the comments when i'm online, writing a full guide would be a mess of words.

Thanks a ton for the info and tips, I'll try to follow but would you consider making a video in the future? at least past the first storm. That's where most people are getting stuck at ( at least from what others have told me).

But I'll do my best to follow it!

If enough people want a video guide I could see to making one on the pc version of frostpunk at some point. I still need to start the 3 scenarios after new home myself.

Oh My God!
This achievement is insanely hard, if your going for it expect a long grind. Mine was around 10 - 15 Hours.
The game is random for everyone whether this be the :
How fast someone gets sick, amount of sick per night, death from Emergency Shift, events (if they are on), and so on.

I watched a video series on "FrostPunk Endurance Extreme", and watched till day 9 and did my own thing. I can't find the video now which sucks but I recommend looking at videos and trying to follow them as close as you can.

Mini Guide for the start:
- When you move everything to "extreme" make sure the bottom toggle for "event" is BLACK this means it's off (It's on by default). Trust me when I say YOU DO NOT WANT THIS ON!!!!
- Emergency Shift law and put it on 2 wood, 1 Steel
- Place 5 workers and 5 engineers on coal
- Build a workshop and research the beacon right away (if you want emergency shift this).

Glitches/Exploits:
- When you emergency shift a workshop remove the engineers for 4 hours (This avoids the "scripted" engineer death, so no one dies for sure this time)
- Emergency shift before 10:00 on the first day NEVER results in a death (this is a bug)
- If you start the generator at 18:00 (Right when people are off work) and overdrive it immediately on when your able to this will lower the amount of sick you will get. (Sick day 1 is a guarantee on Extreme... how many is up to you :/ )

Tips:
- Find people QUICK! The more people you have the better
- Food is a pretty big issue early on, figure out if you are going Hunter Huts, or rushing a Hothouse
- Most youtubers choose Sawdust as Soup normally can ruin/end a run early :/ I recommend Sawdust since discontent early game will kill you/ruin the run
- ALWAYS CHOOSE CORPSE DISPOSAL AND ORGAN TRANSPLANT NO EXCEPTIONS!

Edit: I want to clarify that you can watch videos from the PC version, but a few things are different:
- There was an exploit with hunters working immediately after a hunt.. This won't happen on console. This has been patched as of 1 year ago, so make sure the video you are watching is at least that old.
