Not a full guide but huge tip for this unreasonablly long boss fight. Use the Norwegian character. He's invincible. You'll need to switch out on occasion to get through some shields but it'll be quick. Achievement pops after credits and short cut scene.
To unlock Norwegian, get 12 silver crowns through the thing levels. Should be fairly easy if it's you third or fourth world. If not unlocked by the end, just replay some levels at the end as you'll have access to areas that were previously locked in the story.

EDIT: I've heard there was an update recently changing this. I cannot confirm anymore but heard you need to hold B to be invincible. I've also heard updates changed someone of the bosses including the final to make them easier/shorter. Again, I can't confirm anything but will leave this here for now. If this anyone can confirm, I'll remove the guide completely if it's no longer necessary or useful info.
