Just goto Alpha Station and choose the Change Faction mission. Leave the station and follow the waypoint till you reach their base. This can be done for any faction.

I have a question. If you change factions can you still go back to the previous faction and complete all their story missions.

Yes, all you do is goto the Alpha Station and there is always a mission there called Change Faction or Faction Change. You leave the station and just choose which faction you wish to be a part of. Hope that helps.

To change factions or join a new one, go to Alpha station. Tell the guy you want to change factions. Exit the station. He will ask you which one you want to join. Pick this faction. Follow your quest marker. Finish the join quest mission (usually help someone in distress) and when asked if you want to join, select yes. Achievement unlocked.
