The easiest level to unlock this achievement on is level two, a Galaga Commander Ship will come down and shoot out a beam towards your ship. However instead of shooting at the enemy ship with A or B as you usually would, allow the beams to cover your ship. This will cause your ship to be captured and you will lose a life, so ensure that you are not on your last life when you go to do this. Once your ship is captured it will turn red and be attached to the back of the ship that captured it, when the Commander Ship and the Captured Fighter fly down, destroy the Commander Ship to regain control of your ship and form a Duel Fighter, thus unlocking the achievement.

Had no trouble getting this on the first level, but should note that all achievements in this game do not fire until after the game over and shooting summary screen.

I got this one pretty easy as well. Much easier to do on level 18 in my own opinion, but each gamer is different. Did wanna note that the Commander Ship and Captured Fighter HAVE to fly down before you destroy them. I have been testing different methods for other reasons and noticed that if you destroy the Commander Ship while it is still sitting up top with your Captured one then you won't get the second ship. It'll just stay on the bad side. Also, need to be careful not to shoot the Captured Ship when they fly down, just the Commander one because I've destroyed the Captured one on many occassions. Anyway, just felt I'd add those tips. Great Guide!!

Follow the exact steps in “Enemy Fighter” until the enemy Commander Ship is in control of your Captured Fighter. Now, when the Commander Ship and the Captured Fighter fly down, destroy the Commander Ship to regain control of your ship and form a Duel Fighter, thus unlocking the achievement.
