There is a super easy method to do this using a money glitch where you can duplicate your money by holding sell on a shelf which you buy during the tutorial. After you place the two shelves down, pick the one back up and go into the inventory and hold X on it, and keep holding X and it will sell that shelf over and over.

Stop completing missions at the point where you're asked to buy a parking lot. From here, you'll be making money solely from fueling and picking the locks on cars. This takes a long time - I estimate it took me about 5-6 hours of gameplay. Make sure you're being as efficient as possible with your lockpicking and fueling, get as many tips as possible, and try not to go insane. If you're looking for other stuff to do while waiting around, I personally ended up also getting the throwing achievements while waiting. You could also try to make a tall stack of trash, or clear all the sand around your lot with Rudy, or paint everything you can. Two things I don't recommend doing are the racing minigame (if you're not consistently very good at it) and flipping cars, since the first costs money and the second might impact how many cars stop at the station.
Once you've made $5000, make sure you've got at least one shelf placed and buy the parking lot, then answer the phone. Complete the next mission, then pay your loan and the achievement will be unlocked.

I also did RC racing between fueling
If you run after fueling straight to the RC and finish within 1min15, you get 15 dollar every time (20 win - 5 to start)
The moment you are done with racing, you can go back to the station and another car will be waiting ready to be picked & fueled

I would recommend building the first parking lot and using Rudy to block the street behind the gas station. When ~10 cars have queued up you can go through and pick them all before unblocking the road. I haven't noticed any decrease in fuel customers while doing this. Just make sure not to let them queue up so far they are blocking the highway exit.
Also, if customers get stuck at the fuel pump without placing an order, quick save and quick load (F5+F9) to fix their pathing.

In the Beginning of the game you will be tasked with building your first gas pump. Once this is completed do not progress any further in the tasks because it is time to start saving and grinding. There are 4 primary means of saving the 5,500 dollars needed at this point.
1.) pumping gas - cars will drive up and you fill them up and get paid for it
2.) RC race - you can go out back and complete the RC race and get paid $15 for every time to complete the race in under 1:05 so you can make about $700 an hour.
3.) Golf Bowling - also out back and you can make $10 every time with hit it in 5 shots.
4.) Break into some cars - Go grab the lockpick and get breaking and entering into cars. Best way is to cause a pile up on the main road by flipping a car with your broom and just bang them out.
So on steam I did it mostly by the lock picking and pumping gas. Either way this is a grind to do and you are looking at a few hours but you can knock off a bunch of achievements like the lock picking ones and the pumping ones.
Once you have your savings continue on and spend the 5k by using the PC to repay the loan.

Golf Bowling does not seem to be available in the XBox version. Also it should be mentioned that you need to have 5000 in your pocket before taking the Phone Call during the "Answer the Call" Quest. As soon as you pickup the phone, the timer will start (5min).

Easy way to get trunks to lockpick is to pick the locks of cars at the pump. There doesn't seem to be a detection mechanic (at least not this early in the game), so feel free to pick locks at will.

Start a new game, do everything up to the purchase of two shelves. Save the game and buy two large drink shelves. Places both of them, pick one up with

to put away. Go to your rucksack, hover over the shelf in your inventory and hold down 
until you get over 5k cash. You should have one shelf left out and they will get stocked with some products automatically.
Shut your station, answer the phone call then open it. You should get a customer at the cash register. After that you can press pay all on the TV loan page.

Step 2. Pick up the clock inside of the gas station by pressing 'Y' & then 'LT'.
Step 3. Hold LB & move right analog stick UP & open the backpack.
Step 4. Hover over click & press 'X' to open More.
Step 5. HOLD 'X' as if you were going to sell the object, pressing 'X' will sell the object.
step 6. While holding 'X' - HOLD 'RT' to CONTINOUSLY sell the object, you will hear a noise.
Step 7. Hold 'X' & 'RT' for approximately 1 Minute.
step 8. As soon as you let go of 'X' the money will be updated - it will be not be updated while holding 'X'.
Step 9. Follow the tutorial instructions - once you serve your first customer @ the cash - you will be able to now pay the loan in the computer.
Step 10. Open the computer, open the services tab & open the loan tab - VOILA - pay off the loan.
Step 11. You now have unlimited cash & the achievement.
